"My father is currently at this facility after a stroke. Overall, I'm pleased. Some great employee's there and some so, so. The head nurse Judy is very nice and very attentive when I have concerns about my father. The weekend supervisor, Greg is the best thing going at the building. He will bend over backwards for you and go the extra mile to help you. Whenever I have an issue I always seek him out and he always fixes it. "

"if it wasn’t for the outstanding bright young lady Ms Quay C I dont Know What I Would Have Done. she made sure that I was taken care of and made sure that I had everything I needed for the night. She checked up on me every 10-15 mintues and I knew that she cared , I loved being here I had a great 3 weeks thanks to Quay C she’s a very magnificent aide "

"My wife was at Parkside Health and Rehabilitation. She was there for an extended time when she was rehabbed. They offer long-time there as well. The place was a lot cleaner. They have activities the same as the other place. You go to their main dining room and there would be 6 or 8 people sitting around coloring pictures and that sort of thing. There was a person that read stories to them every day, which I thought was kind of nice. The rooms were clean. Most of the time, you could find a nurse. The CNAs were pretty good there as far as keeping the room up and keeping the patients up. I think they were better than the other place. With regard to food, they seemed to take more care in their preparation. The place was nice and clean, too."

"I am surprised at what I read below. I have had my 94 year old mother in this facility twice. On both occasions she was well treated with great care and concern. On the second occasion care givers that worked with my mother two years earlier came up to say :Hi" to her when ever we would walk that halls. Sadist think I saw was other patients left all week with no families visiting them. Then only complain when they came on the weekend for 2 hours. This facility has great set of quite places to take you love one to talk, play cards or board games or sit outside under shade or in the sun just to get them out of their beds and rooms. It really helped to encouraged the mending of 6 broken ribs by getting her moving. "

"My mom recently spent almost 3 weeks in this facility doing as much therapy as she was physically able to do. The food could’ve been a little better according to my dad but mom isn’t a very big eater anyway so it was ok. The staff were great.and you can tell they all care about their patients. It’s obvious that they are busy and there is a lot of people that need their help and attention but everything that mom and dad needed they did with a smile. Therapy was great also. Overall we would definitely go back if mom or dad ever need rehab again"

"We chose Island Lake Center for our mother because it was highly recommended by our friends. It was a modern place. There was a courtyard where the residents walked if they wanted. They had nurses on duty for 24 hours, and a doctor came in once a week. The facility was complete from the hairstylist to the physical therapy section. They just had about everything. The owner strived to listen and emotionally supported the families. The staff were caring, compassionate and cooperative. They were strictly hands-on with my mother. My mom was in a shared room with their own bathroom. She could bring whatever furniture she wanted. The place was really kept clean. The facility had a nice dining area. The chef prepared good food for the residents. We did not regret putting our mother there. "

"My mom has been in Longwood for over a year and definitely, I wouldn't want to make any changes at this time. The facility was not a fancy place, it's older but it's well taken care of and well maintained. They have separate dining areas for those who need help eating and for those who go back and forth and eat on their own. They have rooms for recreational activities and staff members who lead different activities like painting and arts and crafts. They have a piano area set up for entertainment. They have onsite therapy rooms and doctors who make rounds every day. My mom shares a room with a private bathroom and has medical attention there. The staff was very helpful over the phone and when I went over there to look, I saw a lot of very happy residents interacting with their caregivers, looking comfortable, well cared for and enjoying themselves. The food is fine, some days are better than others but it's not bad at all. I like the staff, they're very good at calling and letting me know if they have questions about my mother's health. If something happened, they told me and what they did about it. My mom likes the way she's treated there, her spirit's better and her risk of falling is less. They could probably improve on giving feedback for changes in some scheduled meetings. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in my mother's circumstances. "

"There are just two reasons that we left Life Care. One, it was a little too big for my mother -- too many people. And two, she wanted a private room. The clientele there were socio-economically not at her peer group, so she is more comfortable where she is now in terms of her colleague or her co-residents, and she has some vanity about her. I never ate in the dining room there; I didn't care for it. It was too institutional and just adequate. The thing is it depends on what is important to the patient. If it were me, I would take the top medical care even if I have to suffer a little bit on rooms, but my mother doesn't think that way. She'd rather be comfortable and treated like a queen even if the medical care isn't any good. It depends on what the patient values, in my view. Their therapy was a five-star, and the nursing staff is a four-star. They were friendly and quite attentive, but the therapy is very good. If you were rehabbing, I would highly recommend it. "

"The staff made me feel like part of the family. I was in need and they helped me through a difficult time. I'm not sure where I would be without the team at Tuskawilla. The rooms are clean, the food looks and tastes great! The activities staff are warm and offer great activities throughout the day. "

"My sisters put my mom here at Florida Living Center. It is very nice and they are doing a good job. They are rated five stars so it is really good. But we still go back to her to make sure because her skin is very tender and we have to wash her. I go there to make sure she eats and sometimes I feed her myself. They have rooms and apartments in there as well. "

"Consulate Health Care of West Altamonte provide three good, healthy meals a day. The offer therapy. She is happy there, and she does not want to move anywhere else. Everything is outstanding. "

"We got a discount at Lutheran Haven because my mother is a Lutheran. It’s only like a mile from me. Our visit was wonderful. My sister and I liked it. Their dining rooms are super nice. There are 6 people to a table, tables for 4, and tables for 2. There is also a long bar that really feels like you’re at a bar. There’s just no liquor. They do have wine, I think. My sister and I liked the food a lot. They had pork chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans almondine, a salad, biscuits, and corn bread. Her care is really good. My sister and I checked up on her. We even sent strangers there to check. It’s a Christian place. She doesn’t have to leave there to go to church. She goes to bingo. It’s perfect. "

"Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides a little garden area with real food planted there. They also have outdoor rehab work, and they give you all manner of rehab there. They start in the mornings. The people that work in the rehab area are so professional, and they make rehab fun. They make sure you do as well as you can. The food was really good. My room there was clean and nice, but it was not anything spectacular."
