I did a few tours in a month of this facility as I needed a place for my dad close to home so I could visit daily. All I can say is to STAY AWAY from this facility. activities are practically non-existent and the same thing every week. On every tour the building strongly smelled of urine and feces, and the staff was uncaring especially the CNA's. We heard of many complaints of clothing or personal items going missing before our visits. On one visit I saw several nurses sitting in a back area sitting in wheelchairs on theirphones. On my last tour I witnessed a nurse yelling at a resident who was fussing then the nurse yelled at the CNA. Just stay away.

My husband was being discharged from the hospital. I was in a bind to find a place quickly. We were lead to believe Healthcare of Sanford was a good place, so he was transported there. Oh, my goodness! My heart dropped when I saw inside the place. I don’t think any stick of furniture has been replaced in 50 years. The answer to everything seemed to be “No.”. He had a compression sore that needed attention. No! to an air mattress. Not at stage 4 yet! Etc. My husband had difficulty breathing one day there and has since died. I feel, it was lack of care. I share the blame, of course, for letting him go to that, in my opinion, terrible place. Totally, an uncaring, power-hungry, upper management and charge staff, in my opinion.

My father went here after a hospital stay with pneumonia. I live out of state so only was able to visit a couple days, but not happy when I did. I gave someone my phone # when he was first admitted so they could call me if he was being difficult and I could sometimes get him to cooperate over the phone. I didn't receive a call, but when I got there his roomate said he wasn't out of bed much and mostly slept. They said it was because he refused to get out of the bed which tells me he wasn't getting his therapy. He didn't have sheets on the bed for 2 days. I thought the sheets were blue because that was the color of the matress until I realized there were no sheets at all! They have a big dining room, but he always had a tray in his room. That would have been a good time to get him out of bed and out of the room for a while. They told me he was scheduled to leave the following Wed and when I called to see if he was discharged, they said he was staying until the following Tues. (that's when his medicare ran out and they were getting every last penny I suppose). They tried to tell me that they never said he was being discharged on Wed. I will never send him there again and let his assisted living know that. I would give a half star if I could.

My mother was in here for 2 weeks after surgery. They knew we were moving and she needed to be mobile as much as possible. They moved her around in a wheelchair and didn't work on walking with a walker. They didn't answer the call bell half the time. She was left on her own a lot. They were supposed to order a wheelchair for her a week before she left but the day she was leaving they didn't know where it was or when it would get here.

My father is currently at this facility after a stroke. Overall, I'm pleased. Some great employee's there and some so, so. The head nurse Judy is very nice and very attentive when I have concerns about my father. The weekend supervisor, Greg is the best thing going at the building. He will bend over backwards for you and go the extra mile to help you. Whenever I have an issue I always seek him out and he always fixes it.

Healthcare & Rehab of Sanford was not a better one at all. I would not put my husband in there. It was a small facility. A lot of the people there were in wheelchairs. I did not think it was very sanitary. The rooms were OK and clean.
