"I arrived at The Savoy Gracious Retirement Living a couple of minutes early. I went into the office, and a man there, who appeared to be a manager of some type, said he will let the tour person know. I didn't have any place to really sit, so I sat at the edge of the dining area. It was getting toward eating time, so people were starting to gather. The funny thing is, when I walked in, two of the women were sitting in a little conversation area, and they were talking about, "I wish we were at the other place." The reason for that was that The Savoy is surrounded by concrete. There are parking lots and busy streets, but that's all. There is more parking at The Savory than there was at the other place, so that was nice, but it was a building next to other buildings, and it was not quite as nice to be outside. I waited for whoever it was who was going to tour, and it took about 10 minutes. I thought, "OK. They're not really excited about touring." One of the residents then asked me, "Are you waiting for someone?" And I said, "Yes. I'm waiting for a tour. So she went into the office, and this lady, the one that I saw go in, came out and said, "I was just going to call you to see where you were." I said, "A gentleman said that he was letting you know." "Oh, I don't check my texts when I'm out." So it didn't start very well. I expected to be welcomed. The tour itself was very nice. I got to see a couple of rooms, and they were probably nicer than the other place. It's definitely newer. I asked a resident who was eating, "How's the food?" He gave two thumbs up, so apparently the food is very good there. They provide a full-size refrigerator in the apartment. They have an area that they call a bistro that you can reserve, which has a full-sized oven and a stove. It is set up like a little cafe that you could actually use. They said people reserve it if they want to bake a cake or something, and they use that. I thought that was a nice touch. They serve three meals a day, so you never have to cook."

"I looked at the cottages in Brookdale Wekiwa Springs, and they were very nice. I really liked them. The price was a little higher than what I know I could afford at this time, but I wanted to see what their definition of cottage was, and they actually reminded me of the townhouses some time in Illinois. I met a couple of staff members, and they were very friendly. The prices were way more than what I was thinking, but they were very spacious. "

"The Tremont is just a lovely place. It is strictly retirement. It is wonderful. It is all inclusive, which is absolutely unbelievable. My first impression of it was that it was very clean and just very attractive. The people were friendly. The staff's work ethics was wonderful. They were very friendly, too. They showed us around and took care of us. It was just a very appealing place. I saw their rooms. They were very attractive. I saw one furnished and one not furnished. They were a pretty good size. They would also clean your room every week. They also showed us different activity rooms. They have a TV room, an exercise room, and a beautiful swimming pool. We saw some people playing games and some playing cards. Also, they would bring their residents shopping. We had lunch there, and the food was excellent. They have a chef. They would supply three meals a day, and their choices were unbelievable. There was too much to eat to select from, and it was very attractive. They tasted good, too. Overall, what I like best about this place was the outer and inner appearance. Also you can have a pet there. They have three levels, and at the first level, they have a little patio outside the room for your pets. "

"I toured Bahama Bay Club Luxury Senior Living. It's too expensive, and they can't accommodate my diet. However, it's a very attractive and nice place. It looks like you're in a resort. The facility was very clean, and the outdoors was kept nicely. The staff was very nice and friendly, and you felt welcomed."

"We had dinner at Gentry Park Orlando. They give you 2 or 3 options with each meal. So, you have some variety. The facility is new, clean, and very appealing. They have a movie room and an activities room. The apartments are kept in excellent condition. They have a bus that takes the residents to the doctor's appointments and several different stores. Then they have an outing where they go to dinner. So, they have lots of activities and it's maintained well."

"Villa Grande on Saxon was nice. It was extremely clean. The residents that we saw were very nice and welcoming and so were all the staff. The apartments were huge probably because they were originally condos. There was ample storage space in the units. It was exclusively independent living. We were looking more for an independent/assisted/nursing home, so it did not qualify for what we were looking for. For independent living, it was wonderful, but not for what we were looking for, unfortunately. The pricing was wonderful for what you get. I think it would have sufficed for someone else who was just looking exclusively for independent living. They only offer continental breakfast, so they do not offer any other meals. It was very nice. I was impressed with it. It was something I would look for, for myself."

"I toured Inspired Living at Ocoee. It was very clean and nice. I saw activities going on for the residents. Looking at the rooms and stuff that they showed me, it was pretty nicely laid out. They had nice grounds for the residents to walk around. The staff was caring. I saw them assisting folks. They were distributing meals at that time also. They did look professional with their nice uniforms. There was a young lady that came in a couple of times a week and was teaching the residents some action songs."

"Sterling Court was nice, the staff was friendly and let me see everything. All the people were also nice. I had lunch there, and they were talking to me. The rooms were a little smaller, but they’ve got a swimming pool. "

"I moved to Arya at Windermere, it topped my list that's why I ended up here. The staff is great, and when I walked in I felt comfortable. The people and everything, I enjoyed it all. They have bingo, entertainment, there's a lot of stuff, they also have special breakfasts and lunches, they have all sorts of activities. They've done an excellent job on the food and the presentation. The apartment is beautiful, it's one of the nicest places I've been to and I liked it. I have a 1-bedroom with plenty of room and a nice kitchen. They have a library, swimming pool, massage parlor, a sauna or steam room, and they have a workout room."

"I'm interested in The Summit of Winter Garden. I just liked it. It felt comfortable. They showed me an apartment, everything was very nice. It was just very nicely laid out, it was big enough and not too big, and it had a nice little bedroom, and a living room. The residents were playing bingo, they had everything, and they said they have a party every Friday night. They had a beauty shop and library, which were very nice, and they offer transportation. It's a very clean and very well-maintained facility."
