I visited Wayman Place. What was really wonderful is we got there just before they were getting ready to do lunch. They had some people in the area where they do the meals, and some of the staff were bringing some of the people who needed a little bit more help. Everybody was so happy and cheerful and they were calling out to people by name and just being very, very caring. The people seemed very happy. It also did not smell at all. Everything was nice, bright, and clean. Everyone that we ran into was so kind, courteous, and had a wonderful demeanor. You didn't see anybody who was cranky or unhappy whatsoever. The people who resided there looked so happy, the people who worked there looked so happy, and it was such a difference compared to some of the places that we had toured. I had a great interaction with the staff; a lot of personal caring from them and calling to check on my cousin to see how he's progressing. There was a lot of information maneuvering through this because it's not easy at all and nobody gives you the book with all the steps you have to do. They were able to tell me a lot of what to expect and what I needed to do. They were really very helpful to let me know what things I needed to look out for and how to be able to make the transition the best, and to be able to take care of my cousin the best for his benefit. Everybody was so wonderful. When there's genuine smile and care, you can see it in a person. The hallway was nice and wide. Each of the areas where each of the residents live was kind of unique to that person, so there was a little personalization. We took a tour to some of the different common areas and some of the things that they have available for the residents to do. Everything looked so nice. It was like you were in a really big, elegant home and not in an assisted living facility.

The staff at Wayman Place is, for the most part, extremely caring and thoughtful. The problem is there's hardly anybody here. There's minimal staff. The nurses and the aides do the work in the dining room, delivering meals. It's not an ideal place, at least for me, and I don't need much care. I'm a minimal care person. I make my own bed, clean my own room, and do my own laundry, which is always an option. They're always asking if they could be helpful, but I'm not that far gone yet. They're overworked. The nurse who hands out the pills is the one who hands me my dinner. It's a little strange to me. They work hard. There's a new chef, so things are looking better, but it's still, most of the time, barely warm, and it takes them so long to bring it out. I'm sure that's part of it, but it's improved. The cleanliness is really good. The folks keep up with issues. They have so many activities. They do movie and popcorn, and ice cream and cupcakes as a celebration of birthdays. They do gardening and they go out on trips. There are residents who are leaving here to go to another facility because it cost less money. The room is wonderful, and you can bring your own furniture or use theirs, so it becomes very homey because you have your things with you.

Wayman Place was very clean. The rooms were all private, and they were nicely sized for one person. They fit whatever we thought my brother needed. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable, and they answered all my questions. We didn't see any activities when we were there because it was lunchtime, so they were all having their lunch.

My mother-in-law moved into Wayman Place. The staff was great when we came in. They were very caring and knew a lot about what was going on. The people seemed active and all out. You didn't see everybody staying in their rooms. The first time we got there, they were caring companion dogs, which was nice. They were all out visiting with them. It looked like a lot of activities for the people. Since my mother-in-law has been there, she's already been on an outing with them. The community was very clean, one of the first things we noticed about it. It was nice, open, and bright. They have many food options.

We toured Wayman Place. It was very neat and clean, and the people were very friendly. They showed us several living spaces that were very nice and sizeable. They have a small little type coffee area right in the front when you enter the front door. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very friendly.
