My parents moved to Madison at Oviedo. They've answered most of our questions the first time we asked. It is very small. They need some updating. The two units my parents moved into were very dirty, and several things were in poor repair.

Madison at Oviedo was very comparable with the other places. Unfortunately, the salesperson wasn't in the office when we toured, so we ended up with someone who was not as experienced and was unable to give us any of the numbers. The facility was nice. I just thought the staff was not as efficient as the other places we had been in. It was clean and seemed to have all the things in the right places. The rooms and the hallways and all that were well maintained. The flooring was nice and in good shape. They had a game room and a library, but they were both pretty tiny. There didn't seem to be as many open spaces for people to just come out and relax as there were in some of the other facilities. We didn't interact with any of the staff other than the salesperson. She was very nice, but she was pretty brand new. She had only been there like a week, maybe two. She couldn't answer a lot of our questions. She didn't have any of the numbers. They did try to follow up, but every time they called, we were either on the road or in the middle of another tour. We were never able to connect to get the numbers. It's not that we dislike the facility, it's just we like the others a lot better than that one.

I like the people at Madison at Oviedo. The place seemed OK. I met some residents there who also seemed OK and seemed very pleasant to me. The facility was clean. It was pleasant enough and the people I dealt with seemed nice. They did a good job of explaining things.

Madison at Oviedo was a beautiful facility. It's very clean. The rooms were a bit smaller. There's not a lot of outdoor space that seems comfortable. The staff was exceptional. She took me on a tour, answered all my questions, and made me feel very comfortable. Facility-wise, it was more contemporary. It seemed newer with newer features and fixtures. It was a nice place. The size of the rooms was a little cramped in my opinion, but the layout was very nice.

I went to Madison at Oviedo. The room was very nice. I just didn't like the facility as much. It just felt kind of dark. It was much smaller, so I don't feel like they had the potential for the same amenities. The staff wasn't as knowledgeable, because it wasn't the sales associate that was helping, that I communicated with. But she was very nice and showed us around. I didn't like their outdoor area. It was all well-maintained, but it was just very small.

We went to the Madison at Oviedo. She walked us through the dining room and she showed us this area between the buildings. The buildings are U-shaped, so it's between the two buildings. And there was like this little wooden gazebo at the end. There was not a lick of landscaping. There was one sidewalk that went down to this gazebo and that was it. And I said, so what do your residents do when they want to be outside? She said, well a lot of them sit on the front porch. I said, and what, watch Red Bug Road? And she said, well, yeah, that's what they do. Their outdoor living offer is nonexistent.

I don't think that Madison at Oviedo was a good fit for my mom. It was clean and it was pretty. They were nice, but it was just one room. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment, and she can bring all of her own things at this other place, whereas at Madison at Oviedo it's just a different environment because it's assisted living. However, it was very clean. The people seemed very nice. The residents seemed happy. It was very nice. The staff were very friendly. That whole area is a good location. On Red Bug Lake Road you've got restaurants, you've got a bank, and you've got WalMart. Everything is within three miles.

I went to Madison at Oviedo. The things I like about it, is they've had health staff there working there for 12, 15 years. So it just shows a good place, people are staying around longer. They got long-term employees. They don't have a lot of turnovers. I would say that was a plus. It was very clean, very nice, very small, very charming, and very modern. These were all contained within this assisted living. So you're within this one large building with apartments within it. The one bedroom is very nice, very spacious. They had a lot of activities, and nice people working there. The people that live there were friendly. It's a nice place. They were at games. They seemed to have theme nights for the folks living there. They had fitness, like a wellness area where people could get some physical therapy, I believe, and some occupational therapy, those kinds of things. It smelled like an old folk home. It looked like they had on-site staff that was with physical therapy, I believe, that can help you stay on site for that.

I like Madison at Oviedo. It was very appealing. It was clean. It was professional and bright. It looked like it had a really good program for care, including entertainment, food, and just a lot of things. It was good, so that's a candidate. The rooms were very inviting. They seemed to have everything that a person who had that need could possibly want to have. I like the rooms. They're about the right size. They had a nice list of activities; everything from bingo games to exercise and to musical entertainment. There are a nice variety of things and plenty of them all day long.

My friend has moved into Madison at Oviedo and I would highly recommend it. I did a physical tour, had multiple conversations, and looked at reviews. I liked everything, the cleanliness, the staff, the rooms, and the size of the rooms. They have assisted living and memory care. The staff during the tour took the time to ask questions about what I was looking for. She asked questions about what the resident would want. She took time to get to know me and a little bit about the resident. She was very knowledgeable about the facility and answered any of my questions. The food was excellent. They have a front patio and a back patio, they have a little area where you can walk in the back, and a gazebo. The price is just a little high. Her room has a handicap-accessible bathroom and it has enough room. She's in one of the smaller rooms, but she has enough room for a sitting area and then her bed as well.

We really liked Madison at Oviedo. We wanted to put her there originally, until we found out they wouldn't allow pets in the memory care. We liked the quality of the place, the décor, the friendliness of the staff, and the facilities, and like I said, that was our first choice until I found out she couldn't take her dogs with her. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. The food looked to be really top quality. It was immaculate, and they're in the process of making some improvements to make it even better. It was close to home and in between home and work.

We're thinking of moving my parents to Madison at Oviedo. It felt like home. The people are good, I got to see some of the residents, and they all appeared happy. It has all the benefits of the bigger places I toured but the comfort of being smaller and homier. The rooms are more like small apartments. They have a small, which is like an efficiency, a deluxe, and then a one-bedroom. They might even have a two-bedroom, but we were not looking at that, so I just don't remember. They do weekly trips, and twice a month they have live entertainment for their residents. They do activities, and she named a few games that the residents liked to play. They seemed to be very active with the residents. And one of the residents said, the food is like three gourmet meals. The layout is nice, too.

Such a lovely landscaping and a well appointed design. I met for a networking lunch there and everything was perfect from the food to their sales manager, Kristy’s, tour of the facility. I love how they help keep their residents active and how residents can move in with their own furniture.

We visited this facility for dad as he has recently been diagnosed with dementia. The staff could not have more friendly and the building was beautiful, bright and clean. When the time comes for Dad to need full time care we will be happy to choose Brookdale Oviedo

Beautiful community with professional and kind staff. My mother's care has been exceptional and her ability level has increased since she entered the Memory Care unit. The staff has been caring and positive across a wide range of measures. Anytime I bring an issue or concern to the Director or to the nurse it gets handled promptly. I would very much recommend. 5 stars hands down.

I worked with the Administrator and she was Very reliable, helpful, thoughtful. Saw to our needs, always followed up. Always checked in to see how we are doing in our search. Always willing to offer helpful advise. Was always approachable, never too busy to assist with whatever our needs or questions. Dads been there 3 weeks and loves it!

Brookdale Oviedo was a nice place, but it was two stories tall. It wasn't as intimate of a setting as a one story would be. There's nothing wrong with it, it was just too big for our mom. Everybody was nice. We saw a studio and it was fine. The dining room was just a regular dining area with tables and chairs. They had a center where the residents could get snacks. The ambiance was fine. It's what you would expect in an assisted living facility. The staff was very nice.

We visited Brookdale; everything was much smaller, because it was an assisted living. We saw residents needing more help, we saw 2 residents sitting on walkers that were asleep right outside the front door, and it was not a positive thing for me. It's more homey, the dining room was smaller, and it felt crowded.

My husband likes Brookdale Oviedo. He seems comfortable. He has been for awhile now and is very happy with the care and community. He particularly likes the food. He also likes the staff and the other residents. They take the clients to the grocery store and have bingo a couple of times a week and other activities.

I saw the memory care floor at Brookdale Oviedo, and it was very clean. It was renovated a few years ago, so it looked like a new building. I was very happy with it. It was all up-to-date, and there was a nice dining room. The residents at the memory care floor were walking around, and it was all quiet. I was impressed with it.

After having my grandmother live here, we have moved her out to a more comfortable place. I found the staff/admins to be rude and uncaring. Very salesman-ey. They continuously increased rent, too. Clean with lots of acitivites but no thank you. Never again.

We placed my grandmother in Brookdale Oviedo. The room she's in is a spacious efficiency with a kitchenette complete with a refrigerator and a microwave; a nice, big bathroom with a nice shower with seats and handheld shower/sprayer; a nice-sized closet; and space to put her own table and chair in her little kitchen area. It was nicely refurbished before she moved in with new carpeting and all new cabinetry; I think they're trying to do that as they turnover their rooms. The food is not bad, just average. They have lots of stuff to do, like puzzle making, flower arranging, bingo, manicure day, crafts, happy hours, coffee hour, musical entertainment, and outings. She hasn’t gone on any outings, but they can go to a grocery store or special outings, like to a pumpkin patch. They have different types of religious services and a big Thanksgiving feast for families to come in and join the residents. I like the family feel of it. It's not a huge, overwhleming place, and I think that's why she picked it. We did go to another assisted living, and although that assisted living to me was more modern and more hotel-like, she didn't like that feel. Brookdale offers more of a homey atmosphere, more of a family-type feel. They could improve by having a quicker response time. They have a call bell system where each resident wears a little button around their neck, and if you press it at night, sometimes it takes someone a while to get there because, just like any place, there's not a ton of staff on night shift. If there was another resident in need, the resident who called has to wait.

The staff at Brookdale Oviedo is very good. My mother is there now and she loves it. I will recommend it to others. I have not personally tasted the food, but she likes it. They are very flexible with their menus, and they listen to the people. The activities are great. They are very good with their activities there. I like the personal attention. They make sure that she has personal attention, and it feels like they have a good program there.

Emeritus was a little bit more expensive -- very classy. My father can’t afford that one, but it was nicer. There was one person that gave us the tour, I saw the rooms; they were very nice. The ones that I saw had wooden floors, large enough, and had a kitchen. I really loved it; it’s just that I didn’t pay too much attention as I know my father wouldn’t be able to afford it, but it was nice. They do exercises, they cook, they play, they go to places, and people come in and sing for them. I would definitely recommend the place.

Emeritus was a little more expensive, but they did seem better than the other facility. The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. They were helpful in every way. They seemed to have varied sizes of rooms depending on how much you can pay, but the rooms seemed better size. The food seemed good.

This place keeps going downhill. The residents complain about the food. The rooms are not kept clean. The staff are openly unhappy in their jobs which is not surprising to anyone who has had dealings with Sharon, the resident care manager. They demand a large cash paynent upfront to trap you from moving. I regret ever putting my dad here

Ever since the last administrator left, the place has gone down hill. She was very compassionate and greeted you with a hug and warm welcome. Now the place is cold. The new administrator never smiles and never engages with anyone. Staff seems miserable.

We could have chosen this facility for my mother-in-law. It's affordable but it required an upfront payment that we can't give but only after a few months. The place is beautiful and well maintained. The residents and staff seem really happy here. The Director was very pleasant and invited us to stay for dinner. There were greetings everywhere while we toured this place. They gave us an apple pie to take home and it was awesome.

The place had a negative presences to it. No one seems to know what is going on. There is a lack of activities in the Alzheimer's unit. I'm confused there has been a lack of guidance. The residents are not well taking care of. I would like to move my mom, but there are not availability at the other communities. I hear the staff complaining that there not happy. That makes me concerned. If they are not happy then how is my mom and the other residents are being taking care of.

My daughter told me about Emeritus so I checked it out since it was near my house. I liked the overall appearance. It was very clean, modern and up-to-date. I talked with the administrator and I liked the way she treated me. She was very professional yet I could tell she was also compassionate. I liked the way she managed the place. I also spoke to the staff through the telephone and they seemed caring and helpful. There were round the clock doctors, nurses and physical therapists. It looked like they had all what our mother needed. I was really impressed. They just did not have any vacancy.

We came across Emeritus at Oviedo from Caring.com. My first impression of it was that it was a very relaxed community. It was homey but it's an institution. I like this facility. The people were very kind. I thought the staff was very attentive. The one who showed us around spent a lot of time with us; she was great. They were very willing to help me figure out the finances to get my mother in, which I had not seen anywhere else. They did have a model room to show, which was really fair. However, they did show us a little lady's apartment and it was adorable, so it made it a more personal presentation. That was quite nice. The dining room was nice and very big. It was kind of worn-looking though.

We took a tour at Emeritus at Oviedo and the facility is very clean. The staff seemed to be very engaged with the patients that are in there. I don't have any problem with the facility aside from its very far away. The only thing that turned me off in that place was the attitude of the lady who first called me. I told her about our situation and she told me, she doesn't know she can help me, but aside from her the staff was very nice and friendly.

I went to Emeritus at Oviedo and they seemed nice. I liked that they had lots of activities and they would make sure dad sat with a table that people he had stuff in common with. The staff are very accommodating. I like that everyone knew everyone pretty well and they seem to have a lot of activities and they had a piano which I think is good because my dad can play the piano. I just didn't like that the TV was in the same room as the piano and that the activity room seemed kind of small to me.

Our family found my Mother’s “Home Away from Home” at Emeritus at Oviedo. She has been a resident for the last month. We could not be happier with the staff and her new home. I have been told by numerous people how clean and well kept it was, and how they’re new management team has made some positive changes. I have experienced the same since she has been there. The entire staff is so caring; it is easy to feel the love they have for our family members. We just had Family Night where everyone was treated with delicious food and great entertainment! Emeritus at Oviedo is definitely 5 stars, hands down.

We recently had to put my aunt into an assisted living facility. It broke our hearts, and so we wanted to send her to the best possible place- somewhere where I could rest assured knowing that she was being attended to by caring, kind, and thoughtful professionals. We felt so lucky to stumble upon Emeritus at Oviedo. The ED gave us a wonderful tour and shared with us the many features that stand her community apart from other establishments. Her sweet, warm, and intelligent energy was emblematic on the place as a whole. Everyone else we have met since we sent my aunt there has been equally welcoming and thoughtful. I really feel like we can visit anytime and they are never 'putting on a show'...they are always taking such great care of her. We were very concerned about her feeling isolated, but she transitioned very quickly. Now when we call often she isn't even in her room! She is doing activities and hanging out with other seniors. She especially loves BINGO I also appreciated that this is a pet friendly community and they allows residents to bring their dogs with them. In short, I recommend Emeritus at Oviedo. HIGHLY!

Our mother has lived at Emeritus at Oviedo for the past year. She is very happy there and well cared for. She has made friends, she participates in many activities that are enjoyable and meaningful for her, and she can retreat to her suite when she wants to be alone to read, listen to a talking book (she is visually impaired), or visit with family. Staff will come check on her from time to time, bring her her medications, invite her to activities and remind her about meals. She can also go on outings when she wants to and we know that she is safe and well-supervised while she is out with the group. She enjoys these outings (Chabot Space & Science Center, movies, and restaurants, shopping trips, to name a few options)! The staff knows all the residents and is warm and affectionate with the residents as well as being very professional and caring. I find it easy to communicate with the staff and they are responsive to our Mom's changing needs. They keep us updated as to what is going on with Mom. I visit every day, so I have the opportunity to observe the staff interacting with my Mom, the other residents and their family members, and with each other. I like the people who work at Emeritus at Oviedo and they seem to like working there. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the setting is homelike. The staff knows all the residents and can always tell me where my Mom was most recently (she moves pretty quickly with her four-wheeled walker!). The word I would use most to describe the people who work at Emeritus at Oviedo is kind. The Executive Director always greets me with a hug and smile. These are very kind and dedicated professionals. Mom likes the meals and also the snacks that are served in the morning and afternoon. Sandwiches are available if a resident gets hungry during the night and there is always fresh fruit, water, and juice available to the residents any time in the Bistro. Wine is available with meals and cocktails or champagne are served in the early evening a few times a week, which Mom likes a lot. Non-alcoholic beverages are served to those who don't drink alcohol, of course. There are special events, celebrations and festivities every week so that it is also a fun place to be. In addition we were able to celebrate Mom's 91st birthday in a lovely upstairs room with a great view. She loved it and those family members who had not yet been to the Emeritus at Oviedo were very impressed, not just with the view, but with the whole place. We are very grateful that Emeritus at Oviedo had an opening at the time that we needed to move Mom there and that she has thrived there.

I used this facility twice for my mother as respite care. While in the main assisted living area she was happy and clean and dry. But the second time she needed additional care and was in the Alzheimer's unit. The care here is below standard. Her clothes were soaked and smelled of urine even though she wears depends. ( I wanted to wash her clothes so when we picked her up all her pants smelled) She bruises easily with her thin skin but her hands were black from being pulled up instead of assisted with getting up. My daughter came to pick her up for dinner and she was still in pajamas at 5 o'clock, no one assisted her with changing into clothes. I will never use this facility again for short term or especially long term care. If your parent or loved one is here please visit regularly to check on their well being.

I have to admit this place was a joke. The minute you walked in the smell hit you like a ton of bricks. The smell of urine was horrible. They had residents in the day room sitting with soiled clothes and food on the floor. I don't know if they were understaffed or what. The only good thing was the food, the cook in the kitchen knew what she was doing other than that it was awful. I felt bad for the residents. My best friends grandmother was there and was not happy. Her family moved her to another facility and it is much better.

Emeritus is a relaxed environment with its own southern charm. All of the residents were in good spirits and seemed to enjoy living there. As with many assisted living facilities they were slightly short on nurses and so at times the Alzheimer's wing could become chaotic. There were many activities throughout the day every day of the week and so the residents had many opportunities to socialize. The common areas were nicely decorated and the facility was very spacious with a bright sunny courtyard. There was even a sitting area in front of the home where residents could relax on rocking chairs and feed the resident cats.

The facility had a staleness about it. Upon arrival the energy level of the staff and the members inside seemed to be exceptionally low. The overall welcoming was minimal at best. It was clean and seemed to be fairly organized however the staffs level of engagement was lacking to say the least. The facility itself was nice and well laid out, had a relatively new feel to it but overall I realized very quickly this would not be the place for my father. While he is growing more dependent, he still has a young mind, the energy level in this facility was low enough that I knew he would not be happy there.
