"I visited Wayman Place. What was really wonderful is we got there just before they were getting ready to do lunch. They had some people in the area where they do the meals, and some of the staff were bringing some of the people who needed a little bit more help. Everybody was so happy and cheerful and they were calling out to people by name and just being very, very caring. The people seemed very happy. It also did not smell at all. Everything was nice, bright, and clean. Everyone that we ran into was so kind, courteous, and had a wonderful demeanor. You didn't see anybody who was cranky or unhappy whatsoever. The people who resided there looked so happy, the people who worked there looked so happy, and it was such a difference compared to some of the places that we had toured. I had a great interaction with the staff; a lot of personal caring from them and calling to check on my cousin to see how he's progressing. There was a lot of information maneuvering through this because it's not easy at all and nobody gives you the book with all the steps you have to do. They were able to tell me a lot of what to expect and what I needed to do. They were really very helpful to let me know what things I needed to look out for and how to be able to make the transition the best, and to be able to take care of my cousin the best for his benefit. Everybody was so wonderful. When there's genuine smile and care, you can see it in a person. The hallway was nice and wide. Each of the areas where each of the residents live was kind of unique to that person, so there was a little personalization. We took a tour to some of the different common areas and some of the things that they have available for the residents to do. Everything looked so nice. It was like you were in a really big, elegant home and not in an assisted living facility."

"My Aunt is a resident here at The Palms of Longwood, even though I haven't visited as often as I would like, my heart goes out to all of The Palms employees. The care givers are awesome and have been for many years. My mother, god rest her sole, was a resident several years ago before the change of hands. Many of the same wonderful people are still here - caring for my mothers sister!! Alex the medicine man, Pam, my wonderful person, Carmen and Rachel are my Aunts care givers. I just can't express how happy I am for my family. Thank you all ! "

"My mother has moved into Sancerre at Orange City. The overall impression when the first time I walked in the door is the reason why I chose them. I would describe her room as luxury living. They have a personal chef that goes above and beyond, and my mother can order whatever she wants. There are events all the time, and there are arts and crafts. This month, they will have a Valentine's special. They have monthly birthday celebrations. In the activity center, there is something every day, and they also have special events. The staff members are above and beyond kind whether they're leaving at the end of an eight-hour day, and you see them in the parking lot, they are very kind, or if they are just coming on. And they always treat my mother basically like a queen, and we do have cameras and watch them."

"I like this facility a lot. I was very impressed with everything in it. The place feels like home. This was the very first thing that I noticed when I entered the facility. All the residents I saw when I visited seemed happy, contented and relaxed. Their staff was very kind and friendly. This place could have been good for my mom but things changed as planned. She would not be able to live in assisted living type of environment at this point. "

"I chose The Watermark at Vistawilla for my aunt and it's very good. They seemed to be staffed well, it's very clean, they have activities, their rooms are beautiful, and she seemed to be adjusting well. They have chair exercises, they have a walking path, they have projects that they work on, and they keep them busy. Her room is beautiful, and it's a studio apartment."

"I like that the Chambrel at Island Lake do have cottages and not just high rise building. It was like a home to me. They have an outside area with a patio and a grassy ground. They have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's just very nice. They have different activities like crafts and computer classes. They also have physical therapy, water aerobics, and many more. "

"Savannah Court of Orange City was nice and good. People were friendly. Jasmine was the one who toured us, and she was very helpful in assisting us. She's the one that's getting us a little bit of communication with different people to help my mother. She gave me the forms to get the doctors to fill out. They guided me to make sure all the forms were correct. My mom even likes this community. She is going to go into a studio room that is big enough for her. Even my mother is excited about it. For the price and everything, it's reasonable. The staff who gave the tour was fantastic and knowledgeable. She was empathetic, and I feel like she knows how I'm feeling, like the stress of doing this with my mother and everything else. She was relatable. However, with the floor, I would prefer laminate and not rugs."

"My husband moved to Gold Choice Deltona. It's a smaller facility, and I think the care there is a lot more one-on-one. The staff is wonderful. He does have a roommate and it's nice. He has plenty of room in there to do whatever he wants to do. He has a chair that he can sit in to watch TV. They do a great job. They've kept up his room pretty well."

"I toured Angel Premium Care LLC. Upon entering the home, it is a private dwelling. It was very clean and very nice. She had one other patient in the home who was bedridden. If we decided to go with that, my mom would have shared the room with the other patient. I didn't particularly care for that because it was a male, and there was no separation in the room. In other words, if my mom had gone there, a male could have been in another bed. I didn't care for the fact that the residents mostly have to stay in that one room because it is a private home. So, she is doing a good job. The owner was very nice, but it would not be for my mom. It was very nice on the inside. The owner lives there, so it was kept up. I don't want to say anything bad about it, but for my mom, it's just not the right place."

"My mom is in Emeritus, and dad was here before. It was close and convenient for family visits. They are very friendly and helpful. It’s a typical assisted living facility. They had a lot of activities to participate in that I saw; they had a full calendar like bingo, movie nights, field trips out to various shopping places, and once a week they do a lunch out to nearby restaurants. It’s kind of a mixed skilled nursing with the assisted living. The rooms are very clean -- they just redid it about three years ago -- and it is absolutely a quiet place. They have a good nature out back; it is near a retention pond that has wild life all around it. They are quiet and secluded. The food is kind of typical as far as like home cooking kind of meals and kind of home style. I have recommended the facility to people. "

"I don't particularly love the location of Brookdale Lake Orienta. It's a commercial area. I also felt like it was not what my sister needed as far as the age there. It felt very institutional to me. She is younger, so it wasn't something that would work for her. It had nothing to do with the service and the food. The care might be wonderful there, but it just wasn't for her. The staff was fine. The facility was clean. The rooms were also quite clean and fine."
