"I visited CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living. It's the Cadillac of assisted living. They have colored bathroom seats so they know where to go at nighttime, and they have a red light. They have sensors if they fall during the night, or if they get up out of their bed during the night, and they check on them every two hours. It's beautiful, and they have a lot of colors, like the plates; they have red plates if you're not eating and the blue plates if you eat too much, but I'm not sure about that part. The staff knows about their patients and they're always engaging them. That's what I noticed when I was there. They had instruments there, a workout room and a really nice salon. They have like a downtown thing, and the carpet is really cool. You would think it was brick, but it was actually carpet. They have a kitchen with cookies in it so you can stop by and grab a cookie. They have a really big fish tank, and they have little activity centers throughout the halls. They have like a bunch of tractors in there, but they were all gone, because the guys take them. They have a garden and everything, which is nice; it's actually beautiful. I would have loved to put my mother there, but I just couldn't afford it."

"My mother has been placed at The Gardens of Eastbrooke. They're very one on one there. It's a locked-down facility for those with Alzheimer's and dementia. They have a lot of activities to keep the folks there and their minds busy, and keep them going. They treat her well there, they're very good. She likes the food, they have three square meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Her room is very clean, you bring your own furniture because they don't supply that. So you bring your own bed and so forth for your family member to make them feel at home more. They do things like word games, puzzles, and board games to keep them occupied and keep them thinking more, they also have TVs."

"My step-mom has been at the Palms for two weeks now, and she has experienced enough "situations" to allowing me to provide a valid review. First I should tell you that you can't judge a book by it's cover, because while the outside appearance has deferred maintenance, every area of the staff and care are OUTSTANDING. Before I go further, please note that the facility has recently been purchased, and they are working diligently to update and correct any existing physical appearance deficiencies you may notice, and an Activities Director is in the works. Personally I wouldn't have stepped inside, had I not had an appointment. I am SO glad I didn't let the outward appearance stop me. The first person to greet me was Alex, who is beyond attentive and remembered my name when I returned later that day. Kim is the Director, and I can't begin to tell you how caring and "down to earth" she is. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the issues we all face when researching a facility, she put me immediately at ease. After reviewing a number of facilities, I didn't hesitate to place my step-mom here. Knowing that they handle all levels of care (including end of life), I was comfortable knowing this would be the last move for her. Every issue noted from the most minor detail, was rectified immediately. My step-mom constantly complained about the food at the last high-priced nationally known facility, but here she does nothing but rave. Wanting her to have at least one "friend", Kim has taken steps to adjust seating arrangements to ensure that she finds someone to connect with. After receiving a call from my step-mom at 6:30 this morning stating she was in pain, I knew that this would be the real "test", as to how quickly her needs were attended. She pushed the button in her room just prior to calling me and I also went ahead and called the front desk, utilizing the emergency option. I was so anxious placing the call, that I failed to leave my name or number, as I jumped into my car to race to her. A few minutes later I received a phone call giving me an update. When I arrived my step-mom told me that they responded immediately to the button, and call; checking in on her constantly. What a relief! On staff doctors, pharmacy deliveries and ALL INCLUSIVE services (no more a la carte add-ons), make the price very reasonable. Assistance in the steps to apply for medicaid, knowledge about VA benefits and just an overall attitude that everything will be okay, puts The Palms of Longwood miles above the rest. Again, it's the Staff that is the most important when caring for the elderly. As Kim likes to say, this is your parent's new "home", and the staff just work there. "

"Providence Living at Maitland was beautiful. It's brand new, so it's immaculate. I loved the design of it. The room situations were set up with nice wide hallways and a little shadow box outside of every room to put pictures of the residents or their family and stuff. That was a good thing for helping the residents find their way around and such. They also have nice motion sensors in the room, so they make sure they're keeping a good eye on everyone. The second floor was just starting to open up, so my only hesitation would be if there were enough other residents that would be a company for my husband at this point. Also, they do not have a respite program, which I would have liked to have. Other than that, the staff was very warm and very helpful in answering any questions. It's much closer to my home, so it would be easier for me to get there and drop in at any time. They had a beautiful courtyard and the activities they did all seemed great. They were willing to let the residents do what they enjoyed. They had a good activity center, too."

"Knowing that we would be in the Orlando area, we decided to make an appointment to see Horizon Bay Lake Orienta. We've always liked that area - and my friend's mother also liked it. We were researching possible places for her to live. We really liked how well the staff was prepared for our visit. They had taken the time to find out about my friend's mother and the things she likes. We were shown all of the common areas, all of which were really nice. There were plenty of scheduled and non-scheduled activities to choose from. The grounds were all well manicured - with plenty of areas for residents to enjoy. Even though it was raining, we could see that it would be a great place to spend time. The snacks offered included everything from specially designed and prepared baked goods (geared toward health) to fruits, vegetables and delicious puddings. Despite the fact that they were made to be healthy, they all tasted really good. The dining room was really lovely - as were all the adjacent communal areas. The guest lunch meal that we had was really great. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks. Aerobics and yoga classes are also offered. The residents go on trips to visit the many Orlando entertainment venues like art galleries and museums, casual and fine restaurants and to enjoy the many cultural events offered. We could see that the residents are treated with care, kindness and respect at all times. "

"Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was bright and cheery, and there seemed to be things going on for the residents. At the time that we were there, they had a guy playing music. It looked like a lot of fun, and the people were definitely enjoying themselves. The apartments looked very nice. They're single occupancy only. It would not be conducive for both of us to go there, but for a single person, they were very nicely furnished, and they looked comfortable and simple. There wasn't a lot. It's just a bedroom, a small seating area, and a counter with a refrigerator if you want to keep cold drinks or whatever. However, they were very nicely laid out. It's definitely very nice. I was very impressed. In fact, I was ready to spend the money to have my husband stay there, but he was comfortable with that. The people that we dealt with were wonderful. We talked to Nick. I'm not sure exactly what his position is, but he was fantastic with follow-up."

"The Grove at Trelago was nice and the food was good, but the apartments were too small. It's terrific, the ambience, the amenities, the swimming pool, the gardens, and the food. The only thing was that the apartments were too small for us. For other people, they may be OK. They have card rooms and a movie theater. The library was very small and inadequate."

"My mom has been living at Gentry Park Orlando. The facility was very nice. The food was good at first, but then it went downhill. The layout of the place is very good. They had physical therapy and Bingo."

"My sister is in Ambiance of Maitland. The facility itself is beautiful. It's brand new. It only has about three or four residents now. They are still working the kinks out. You can only have hot water when taking a shower or doing laundry on Mondays or Thursdays. The staff is very nice. They do not provide transportation to doctor's appointments, though on their website they said they provided transportation, but they said that was just meant for activities. I did have lunch with her a couple of weeks ago when I was there. It was a little bland for my liking, but I guess they have to please a lot of people, so that's understandable. Everything was fine."

"Joe was extremely helpful in fulfilling my requests and desires for my husband. It is first step initiative and he was tremendous and knowledgeable in his information. I deeply appreciate his concern as well as other members of the staff for the well-being of my husband. "

"My dad recently moved into Brookdale Conway. The staff is exceptional, attentive, and kind. He has been busy making new friends and his room is adorable. This place is just the perfect size. Not too small, not too large. I’ve never walked by an employee that hasn’t greeted me and that has really touched my heart."

"The staff is very good. The food is great, too. What I really like is that it has three separate buildings (one for independent, one for assisted living, and one for memory care). They're all separate. I'm in the independent living and it seems like a normal living process instead of being mixed together with all the others. Everybody is pretty good in this building. The rooms are very good and fairly spacious. I have a two-bedroom so that people can come and visit me. There are all sorts of activities here. They keep you busy. They have a small gym. I feel like I'm on a cruise; that's the atmosphere."

"We visited this location for my mother. The staff is friendly and the location was state of the art, clean and they have a lot of activities. Can't wait for her to start living here! "
