"I went to Florida Golden Adult Care. I didn't talk to the staff that much. They are not really welcoming. They have a gym. They have a place outside where the residents can sit down. It's like a little park area. The upkeep is good."

"I'm at Cascade Heights. It seems to have a lot of people. It's pretty big. The price was important to me and the price seems within line if a little bit less than some of the other places. I have a two-bedroom-two-bath, a washer and dryer, and a carport. Upkeep and cleanliness are all excellent. I just got a new faucet in the kitchen, and it looks nice. The staff is very nice. The food is really good. They have a couple of chefs here. I just wish they had regular breakfast where we could pick what we want. Breakfast is open to everybody, but it's like a buffet. You go through a line, and you eat whatever they have that day. They have the same Monday through Sunday. On certain days, they have the same items. It's either French toast, pancakes, or eggs. Ours today is like biscuits and gravy and grits, but there are no eggs to go with it, so I'm going to make me an egg with mine. The dining area is very appealing. It looks high-end. Regarding activities, sometimes I do bingo. We get rides on the buses, and they do a tour to certain cities and areas like that, and I do that. We rode around for Christmas lights, but I don't do too much of the other stuff. The staff members are sharp. The food is good. The facilities are older, but they keep them up. They look really nice. Right now, they're pressure-cleaning the roof. The facilities are nice, and the landscape is nice, too. They also have a big, heated pool. I'm younger than some of the other residents, and it's very active over here. With regard to value for money, it includes housekeeping, food, basic cable TV, and all the utilities and everything."

"My mother was at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for three weeks. It was a nice memory care facility, but she was a flight risk, she kept trying to escape, and she fell five times. It's like a resort. We were very pleased with the facility and all the people, but my mother was the problem. They tried very hard, but she's just too difficult. The staff was very caring. The food was excellent, looked very nourishing and appetizing, and the menu was always changing. She did puzzles and coloring books, and she sat in the big living room and watched TV. They had the lowest price in the area."

"I'm interested in The Summit of Winter Garden. I just liked it. It felt comfortable. They showed me an apartment, everything was very nice. It was just very nicely laid out, it was big enough and not too big, and it had a nice little bedroom, and a living room. The residents were playing bingo, they had everything, and they said they have a party every Friday night. They had a beauty shop and library, which were very nice, and they offer transportation. It's a very clean and very well-maintained facility."

"I liked Inspired Living and that is where my dad will be going. It was very warm, inviting, and offered many services. The staff was wonderful, and they were friendly, and accommodating. It was brand new, the grounds were beautiful, and close to major highways. The rooms were spacious, brand new, beautiful, and handicap friendly. They have a lot of sitting areas on the different floors near the rooms, the dining area is beautiful, and open, and people can eat whenever they want."

"The rooms at Horizon Bay Lake Orienta were wonderful, but the only thing my mother didn’t like is they had their air-conditioning and heating unit in the inside of the room. It didn’t look bad, it looked perfectly new, but it took up space in the apartment. There's plenty to do for the residents. They play cards and they watch movies. They also have activities were they go to ballet or Broadway shows. "

"I moved to Arya at Windermere, it topped my list that's why I ended up here. The staff is great, and when I walked in I felt comfortable. The people and everything, I enjoyed it all. They have bingo, entertainment, there's a lot of stuff, they also have special breakfasts and lunches, they have all sorts of activities. They've done an excellent job on the food and the presentation. The apartment is beautiful, it's one of the nicest places I've been to and I liked it. I have a 1-bedroom with plenty of room and a nice kitchen. They have a library, swimming pool, massage parlor, a sauna or steam room, and they have a workout room."

"My friend has moved in. It is a very nice and clean community. Its atmosphere seems pleasant. The grounds are very pretty, and there are nice places to walk outside. Their rooms are all 1-bedroom apartments. The bedroom is off the living room, which is not a separate room. The food is good too. The staff members are very nice. My friend doesn't participate in any of their activities, but they have Bingo and outings. I think they're doing very well."

"I toured Bahama Bay Club Luxury Senior Living. It's too expensive, and they can't accommodate my diet. However, it's a very attractive and nice place. It looks like you're in a resort. The facility was very clean, and the outdoors was kept nicely. The staff was very nice and friendly, and you felt welcomed."

"I looked at Sumter Senior Living. I was extremely impressed with it. A lot of the people were on walkers and in wheelchairs which turned me off a little bit, but I didn't see any stress among the people or anything. Carol was awesome. She was the one that took me on the tour and she's the one I was working with. She is beyond fabulous. I saw the dining area, and I was very impressed with it. If something should happen down the line and I'm not doing well and I do need to go into independent or assisted living, I would probably have it in writing that I may like to be transferred there. I would have to go visit it again to try the food and everything, but I can't say enough about Carol. The room that she went to show me was gorgeous. I looked at a studio and I looked at a one-bedroom. Very impressive. They had their own little kitchenette and they had the bathroom. What I saw was very clean. The salon wasn't open, but she did show me where the salon was. I liked the fact that it was close enough to The Villages."

"Villa Grande on Saxon was nice. It was extremely clean. The residents that we saw were very nice and welcoming and so were all the staff. The apartments were huge probably because they were originally condos. There was ample storage space in the units. It was exclusively independent living. We were looking more for an independent/assisted/nursing home, so it did not qualify for what we were looking for. For independent living, it was wonderful, but not for what we were looking for, unfortunately. The pricing was wonderful for what you get. I think it would have sufficed for someone else who was just looking exclusively for independent living. They only offer continental breakfast, so they do not offer any other meals. It was very nice. I was impressed with it. It was something I would look for, for myself."

"I visited Highpoint at Stonecrest. They have a swimming pool, and it's beautiful and new. I liked everything that I saw. The whole facility is a five plus. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very informative. Everything about it was professional. I did see the dining room. It's like a restaurant. The cleanliness was superior. We went in the lobby, which was very well organized, clean, and well maintained. There's plenty of seating. They had a snack bar in there. It's like a hotel lobby. To me it was superior. The only drawback I saw was that the cost to stay there was too expensive from what I can afford."
