"My aunt loves it at Freedom Pointe at the Villages. She loves the food, she says it's beautiful, and she's very happy there. I think there's a library. The communication is good, and they're responsive when I call. I think she plays bingo, takes part in trivia, and has an exercise class; she seems to enjoy that. She enjoys sitting in their big, screened-in, back porch."

"My parents moved to Highpoint at Stonecrest. It's very nice, but just like any place, there are certain things that aren't great, but it's still a good facility. They need more organization over issues and taking care of different things as they happen, so that everybody's on the same page with care and everything. The meals are very good. They have an everyday menu with 10 different items on it, and then each day they have two or three items that are specials. So, there are plenty of choices. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. They have a lot of different activities like live entertainment, bingo, social events, trips to different places, and movies."

"Pebble Springs is brand new. It's been open just a little over a year. I love my apartment and I love that I've met so many friends. The people are very active here. The staff is excellent. It wasn't at the beginning, but they changed managers and the new managers are really on top of everything. They're doing an excellent job. They have so many things. It has a gym with all the equipment, a library that's full, and a large outdoor swimming pool. The activities are great. I chose it because of the beauty of the building. There are ten-foot ceilings on the first floor. I have a dog and they built a dog park for us. There are just so many pluses."

"I will be moving into Sumter Senior Living. I like the facility, plus the fact that it's close to where I live. I know the area, and it's near my friends. I've seen it a number of times now. They worked very well with me and accomplished what I wanted to do. I ate there a couple of times. I liked the fact that they have the open menu. One thing I like there is if I have a doctor's appointment, I don't have to go by their car or by their scheduled tours. They'll send a special car over for me. They have a salon, a gym, and a pool."

"My friend really enjoyed Woodland Towers. The facility presents well. They have the older side and then the newer side, and each side offers a little something for each person, depending on what they need. The food was good, and the service was very good. The other residents were very friendly. Diana was the person in sales and tours, and she was lovely to deal with. My friend liked the facility because it was a smaller town, a homey type of a facility. He felt like he belonged there. It stood out the most because of the simplicity and the more down-home feel. They offer a salon service there. They have a theater. They pretty much have all the services the fancier ones have. They have a swimming pool. They have an apparatus to allow handicapped people to get in and out of the pool. They have a shuttle for your doctor's appointment, and if you need to go to the store."

"We were very impressed with Villa Grande on Saxon. Their one-bedroom, one-bath had a full kitchen, which sort of appealed to us. Carol was very informative, very friendly, and answered all of our questions. I just asked to be shown the pool, the exercise area, and the room."

"The Willows was small with only two stories, which was more the size my dad wanted. Because it was smaller and there were fewer residents there, we felt that they would be able to keep an eye on him a little bit better than in a larger place. The other reason we liked it was the location and that it was right down the street from my father's neurologist office. "

"Both my parents are in the Grand Villa of DeLand's assisted living. I like the staff and their marketing director because they are very easy to work with. I like the rooms that they have available for my parents. They're a very clean and very active facility. I've talked to the residents there, and they all love the food and are very, very well-pleased there. My understanding from the moving company that moves stuff there is that the place doesn't lose a lot of people from being unhappy, so there are a lot of long-term residents there. For activities, they have yoga, exercise classes, and bingo. They also bring in entertainment on Friday afternoons (whether it be a piano player, a guitar player, or a singer). They have poker and card games too. I think the value we are getting is tremendous."

"The Carriage House is the one that we like the best. The staff was nice. We went to the grand opening when they opened. Of course, the facility is new. It smelled new too. The location would be convenient, and that was nice. I was very impressed with their screened-in swimming pool. They had a theater with a dozen theater seats; it looked nice. The people were friendly. They had an activity calendar. They also have a vehicle to take people places. They take them to hospitals and to Wal-Mart."

"They had an advertisement and we went to look at it and that's how we heard about Steeplechase. We checked out the place and see how it was like. The staff were fine. It was brand new. It was very clean and pleasant and very nice looking. The only thing I did not like is it was three-stories high and there was only one elevator in the whole building and I didn't like that. They have games. They have movies. They have fitness center. The people that serve the meals were not trained. They were just people that came in to get a job there and they didn't have a lot of experience in doing some of the works there, but they were very nice people. We looked at a two-bedroom and two-bath apartment. The food is fine, but it wasn't as good as it was in the beginning. "

I also like that they are in the area of the building that is just for Alzheimer's patient. They have rooms where you could have two people in and they also have single rooms. "
