"I like the setup at Village Veranda at Lady Lake. I like that they had a very nice courtyard for them to sit in and go out any time they wanted.They don't have to worry about whether they were actually going to get out of the facility, which I liked. It was very nice and very clean. The people there were very nice and attentive. The staff that I talked to were very attentive to the people that were there. They were very caring staff. I would have had no problem leaving my sister there."

"My wife has moved into Highpoint at Stonecrest. Her daughter and my daughter toured different places, and they liked this one the best. They thought it had the best facilities. The staff is very good. It's a brand-new building. They were entertaining the residents in memory care with music and a TV screen. The atmosphere is very good. She's in a room by herself. I don't know if that's big enough. We moved a bed in and a dresser, and there's plenty for what she needs. Their dining area looked very nice and very clean and there's a lot of tables."

"I went to Brookdale Lake Tavares, and they have extremely small rooms. They have a tiny refrigerator. With their activities, I know they have bingo every day. They also have an elderly gentleman that comes in all the time that sings for about an hour and a half. "

"I toured Regency Park Assisted Living & Memory Care, and I thought it was very good. It was light and bright. The patients, a lot of them were up in the community room. They were having karaoke, playing music, and participating. There were other residents that were in various places around. The rooms were nice. They're I guess adequate, they're not really large. You think of a hotel room, and that's about the size that they are, not a suite but a single hotel room. They also have double occupancy or single rooms, which are priced differently. I have a cat, so they do not take pets. They might make an exception if I took a single room and paid an extra $50 a month for the pet. It gets kind of pricey once you get a single room, and on top of that, you have your pet fee. The woman who gave me the tour was very friendly and outgoing, and I was just very impressed by her. The rooms are small, and if there are two people in the room, it's gonna be a little cramped. It wasn't a very nice place to walk around the facility. It's an undeveloped area and there are no houses around but there are offices, doctor's offices, business offices, and Massey, lawn care. Right now, I'm used to walking. I like to get outside. I like to walk or work outside and there's nothing like that. The facility is nice but the amenities like the outside were not that good. I think it's a converted hotel or motel. They don't have any screened-in porches or patios or anything like that. The rooms have been well taken care of and they're fixing and painting some additional rooms."

"My mother was placed here in 2004, She recently passed away however, I wanted to share with everyone the care she received here. My mother and I could not have picked a better place for her to live. The staff is the best. I know as a caregiver the toll and stress it puts on a person no matter who you are, but I must say the RA's at New Horizon was always smiling,kind and the care they gave went over and beyond. New Horizon offered much more than other assisted living facilities that we had experienced before. It was as if they were kin to us. I must say we were truly treated like family."

"Brookdale Tavares was just immaculate. They treated us out to lunch, and the food was good. I really like it a lot and would like my father to go there, but it is one he just can't afford. I thought the people were wonderful. We got to meet the chef and the activities director. The lady that took us around was wonderful. I had no objections to it except for the fact that he can't afford it. They showed us a studio and a smaller one bedroom, and both of them were very nice. They have a lot of things like sing-along and games. I really didn't delve into that much because he doesn't participate in that kind of stuff much. But I know he would like the music part and the church services which they said they did. The security and safety looked excellent. "

"Canterfield of Ocala had just recently been built. Everything was brand-spanking new, so it was in tip-top shape. It wasn't fully landscaped and had a lot of things that needed to be completed. The staff I met was very nice and new, so they couldn't answer all the questions I had, but they said they'd get answers. They had an exercise, television, and computer room, and a game room where people could play bingo or bridge."

"My sister moved into Brookdale Canopy Oaks. When I looked it up online, it sounded very good. When we went to visit, it was very clean. It offers a lot. All the residents seemed to be very happy where they were. The staff was very pleasant, caring, and helpful. It just seemed to be the right place. I had one meal there, and the food was alright. They have outings. I know my sister went to an ice cream parlor. They have movies. They do their nails for them. They play games and cards. It felt homey."

"I choose Chambrel at Pinecastle for my mom because it is more of an apartment rather than a nursing home and I like how the apartment looks. They keep it clean and new looking and the environment is very nice. The food is good. The rooms are nice and spacious enough. The staff is helpful. They have lots of activities available. My mom likes it there and she's satisfied with the care that they are giving her. I guess they can improve on giving more personal care. I would recommend them to others. "

"We visited last week to find a place for my aunt who is currently in an assisted living facility. We were impressed with the staff and this will be closer for us to visit."

"Hawthorne Inn of Ocala was an average facility, but the interaction I saw between the residents was excellent. They were interactive. It's good. We were in the dining area because it was around lunchtime, and Dad got to see the interaction of people there and was concerned about the language barrier. Most of them were only English speaking, and he's a Spanish-speaking 99%, He wanted to make sure that the location had some bilingual people or people who spoke his language so he could interact with them properly. We visited the three types of room sizes. They were adequate. The room size, for our standards for one person, was kind of in the middle range. It wasn't that big. The hallways were clean. Everything's OK. We went through a library area where the residents got to pick books and read. They had somewhat of a selection. It wasn't a huge selection. Then we stepped outside. In our opinion, the outside was not an appropriate interaction for outdoor activities because there was none, other than a small porch with a couple of seatings. You just kind of sit there and maybe bask in the sun, and that's about it. My dad is more of the outdoorsy type that he would like interactions with a garden or growing tomatoes, or there are animals in the facilities, or just basically gazing and seeing what's going on in there to kind of keep his mind occupied. I personally liked the wood floors. That made it a nice, very homey, and warm feeling. The staff was friendly. All the spaces that I visited were clean. I got a peek at their activity room or craft room where they were doing some painting or something like that, and it was small because this looks like a smaller facility than the other one we visited. I saw their menu and they had a variation of items."

"My father moved into Hampton Manor at Deerwood last month. My brother found it, and he said he liked it, and we didn't have much time. So I said ok. I think it's wonderful. He's a diabetic, and he liked the food. However, he needed rehab, and there was a miscommunication. There was a delay. They have bible study. I think it's very clean and very pretty."
