"Rose Senior Living would rank the highest. I toured everything but memory care. Mainly, I looked at the assisted there. It was very nice, and it was a newer facility. I thought the layout of the rooms was really nice. They had a library, and they had a lounge with music and stuff. The cafeteria was really nice. It was more laid out like a dining room not cafeteria-ish. The staff was wonderful. The menu looked really good."

"My mother is in Crystal Creek Assisted Living. We chose it for affordability and their acceptance of Medicaid waivers. Her room is clean, spacious and good sized. It's a clean facility and seems to be well run. The meals they are offering are good and reasonable for that price point that is affordable. The staff is very friendly, very attentive, and knowledgeable. They did a good job."

"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"The staff at Brookdale Farmington Hills North (Formerly Clare Bridge of Farmington Hills I and II) seems very caring, nice, and very accommodating. The facility is kept up well. They have more activities than any of the other places that I looked at. It's a very nice place. I tried the food and it seems good. I haven't heard any complaints from my parents. In the dining room, they seat people who have similar memory issues, and they seem to mesh people up pretty well. There are two buildings. There's one at 27950 and one at 27900, which are identical buildings. They just have slightly different staff and residents. "

"I went to Serenity Manor. It's a home with a max of six residents. They have two owners, and one of them lives there. She lives in the upstairs apartment. There is always two to three staff, so you have a great ratio of staff to residents. Currently, none of the residents are ambulatory. Most of them are advanced dementia patients and need to be lifted with a Hoyer. Right now, it's not ideal for them, but that's what they're getting. Right now, advanced memory care is what they're getting now. I couldn't even talk to the patients because they were so demented. It's a higher level of care and a lot of one-on-one. I think one of the rooms is shared. It's extremely clean. When you walk in, you were in the kitchen common area. Off to the right are the dining room and the living room, and then behind the kitchen is an L-shaped hallway with bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, too. It's very clean and very nice. If I had somebody who needed 24-hour care like that, that'd be great. I was impressed with the staff, too. "

"My mother is in here now. It is really nice, neat and she is satisfied with it. We, as a family, is satisfied with it. I think it is a good place. The monitoring is good for her. The assistance with deficiency is taking care of. The meals are great. The varieties of activities, the socialization and improving her quality of life are taken care of and it is really good. I think the staff is really well trained. They are passionate and very responsive. "

"I toured Bickford of Canton and they showed me 3 different kinds of rooms in assisted living. It's very homey and comfortable there. Michelle was excellent, very thorough, and very talkative. She wasn't rushing and she was very involved in helping me. She seems to be able to answer the questions that I have. The facility is brand-new, it was just built last year. That's one thing that appeals to me, the facility itself and the fact that it was started by the sons of a person who had Alzheimer's. They had her story and pictures on the walls and it just makes you feel like you're going into a home more than an institution. I inquired about the food and they use a company for that. In the morning you can order waffles or bacon. I also like its proximity to stores and restaurants. It's very close to where I am currently living, and it would be close to my medical doctors. My emotional adjustment, I feel, would be better because I'm not leaving the community that I've lived in for about 8 years and where my daughter lives. So that would comfort me greatly, I think, in relocating."

"Farmington Hills Inn was a beautiful place, but it was a long distance from my house. So traveling, especially in the winter, would be difficult, and the price was more than I could afford. We toured the memory care and the staff was very nice. What I liked was they had railings all around the walls everywhere. So people could walk with a walker, with a wheelchair or if they were advanced enough, they could walk on their own by holding them and I was impressed with that. They had open activity rooms and I thought that was marvelous. It was very clean and well-kept. However, the only available room they had was a shared room with a shared bathroom between them."

"We're quite satisfied with Pleasant Valley Family Care. It's like a nursing home, only it's a private home and they're licensed by the State. They give my husband everything that a nursing home would. It's pretty good right there. I have high respect for all of them. His room is not huge, but it's plenty big. He has a La-Z-Boy chair, a chest of drawers, a table, a bed, and his own bathroom. It's the cleanest place I've ever been. When you enter, you have to either take your shoes off or put on those plastic booties. There is a little porch in the front where you could go out and sit if you want. They have a chair out there, and those in wheelchairs can bring their wheelchairs out to the front of the house and look at the outside for a while. The staff is the best. They have a piano player that comes in, they have a guitar player that comes in, and they have somebody that comes in and does stuff with the patients. It's every week that someone is there."

"Glen Abbey is a small size community, and therein lies it's strength. The building is relatively new as compared with similar places and the amenities modern, and well maintained. The staff is very professional about their duties, yet warm and welcoming. One feels heard. If you're looking for personalized care for your loved one, Glen Abbey is the place for you."

"The rooms here did have a patio that led outside to a courtyard so my parents could let the dog out and that was important to us. The facility was beautiful. The staff really seemed to know the residents well, like the person who toured us knew the people in the building and they knew her. The residents were coming up and talking to me and telling me about living there. It seemed very homey. They had a salon and a library."

"We went here, and a staff showed us around. The room we were showed did not fit our needs. However, we were satisfied with the surroundings and the cleanliness. They have a small library, sitting rooms, and exercise rooms."
