"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"I have a couple of friends there at Ashford Court. I'm also going to go into a studio there. It's pretty much just one room with a bathroom. I've their dining room and the main room when you walk in, they do entertainment. The staff members are all friendly. In terms of cleanliness, it's very clean."

"American House Livonia was very nice and clean. The only thing was it was not secure. I didn't get to see the rooms. I saw the outside, the living room, and I had a meeting with the coordinator. Once we got to talking and he realized what I needed, that I needed more of a secure place because father wandered off, he referred me to see some other places. The living room was nice. There was a table there for them so I got to see some of the residents and some were on the porch. There was no odor. I like the place. The coordinator was very informative and helpful."

"When I visited Brookdale Novi, I saw the room, the space, and what was available. Since it's independent living, they just showed me the package if I needed some help with anything and the prices were too much for me. They showed me a one-bedroom with one bath and its kitchen. The kitchen came supplied, but there was no furniture in the bedroom or the living room, which was fine. The staff was very helpful. The facility was nice and clean. It looked decent."

"From the first time Mom visited American House in Farmington Hills, MI, Assistant Director, Lisa, made her feel welcome. When Mom moved into her apartment, her smile returned, her loneliness disappeared, her friendships flourished and she became a member of a very special family! During the time Mom lived there she was treated with kindness and respect by all members of the entire staff. The entire American House staff are truly amazing. We believe they are angels in disguise! I wouldn’t hesitate recommending American House in Farmington Hills! They will welcome your family member with open arms."

"I like the location of Parkside of Livonia Senior Apartments, as well as the layout of the apartments here. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. The meals are not included. However, there are days when groups of people order in and eat at the gathering and eat together. They have evening activities, card games, and there is an area where they have puzzles open and available to use. There are several TVs available to watch as a group in different areas. I appreciate the fact that there is some additional storage area for each unit. That is very nice. This place is a very good fit for me and the people are extremely helpful."

"I toured American House Westland Hunter. What I liked about it was that it was so clean, and the staff was wonderful. Everything was nice, so I didn't have any bad things to say about that place. I saw a one-bedroom apartment."

"I toured the independent living community of Westhaven Manor. The person who gave the tour was a really good tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and lovely. I could get along with her, so that was good. I like the fact that there was an application fee that was reasonable. There was also a meal plan. I like the layout of the place. The dining area was lovely, and since it was early in the morning, there were a couple of people who lingered over coffee. Everything looks clean and maintained. The rooms I saw were lovely, and I like the amount of room in them. I always wish for bigger ones, but it's sufficient for me."

"I've moved into Rolling Hills Retirement Community. It's very well put together, very organized, and very clean. The food is very good. Good selections, too. They have a movie theater as well as different kinds of activities daily."

"I am currently living at All Seasons West Bloomfield. The place is only 10 years old. It's been a very pleasant apartment. I don't partake in any activities. I am more of a recluse. But they have a pretty good chock full of activities. I feel okay here. I feel safe. I have dinner partners. The room is very adequate for a single person and I wouldn't need any more space."

"I moved to Brookdale Southfield, and it's a very nice independent living community. All the people here are very friendly. I think I sat once, and I must have had a confused look on my face, and three people came up to me and asked if I needed some help or if I was lost. They're all very polite and top-notch, as far as I'm concerned. I'm in a 1-bedroom apartment, and it is very nice. It's a little bit smaller than I thought, but that's my problem. It's beautiful, and when I get it fixed up, I'm gonna be so happy. It's only been four days since I moved, and I've been having somebody come over to help me unpack. She's been here every day, so I haven't been able to do anything else, but they have a library here, and I've seen the pool. I've been in the dining room, too, and it's nice. They provide two meals a day, and the food is good. I'm not a real picky eater and just eat what I want. Last night I didn't see anything that rocked my boat, so I went and just ordered a baked potato and a salad. I was fine with that, and they don't push anything on you. They are just nice people. Somebody has trained them well."

"We toured Park at Franklin Senior Living. What I liked most about it was the type of care they give, and it depends on the care that the person needs. And if they needed more care, they could add on more care. So, I thought it would be good for my friend. I also liked the apartments because there were not a lot of floors, and it seemed very comfortable for her. The staff was excellent, and every question that we had, she was able to answer, and she's kind and very courteous. The dining area was clean, neat, and very nice."

"I visited the independent living community of American House Dearborn Heights. The community was friendly, and there was a lot to do. I liked the layout of the independent living, and I liked how they had a choice for a meal plan. I like the layout of the rooms, and I was happy to see a washer and dryer. They also have a full kitchen, which is good. The person who gave the tour was friendly and knowledgeable. I also saw their dining area, and it was spacious and lovely."
