The room that we're going to have will be large enough, under 1,000 square feet, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, so it's very spacious. The staff was very good. The dining area looked very nice. They have a beauty salon, a library, local transportation, and health care services available if you need to contract for them."

"I love StoryPoint Fenton, but it's too expensive for my brother-in-law. It's beautiful. The whole facility is top-notch. It is very open and welcoming. There is a huge gathering area. The receptionist is right there to greet you. They had the director right away, and they took me to a model room that was set up. It was a one-bedroom and it had a refrigerator. It was very, very nice. However, that was an assisted living senior community, and that was not what I was looking for. I was looking for memory care-assisted living. They would do an assessment of my brother-in-law before he was allowed to live there. He probably could fit into the assisted part of it, but that part was too big for him. It's all one level, which is good, but I think that with him getting himself from his room to where they have to go and eat would have been difficult, because the layout wasn't good for him in the memory state that he is in right now. I also went to memory care. It was beautiful. We walked through it. It was very nice. They have a nice little area where you could go in and sit by a fireplace and watch movies. The kitchen was right there. They only have 16 residents, which is nice. They were finishing up lunch when I got there. They have several little areas where you could sit down and have a conversation or play a game. The windows were on each side of a nice wide hallway. They showed me a room that my brother-in-law would have. It was a studio. Somebody had just moved out of there, and they were in the process of painting it and getting it freshened up for the next person to come in. It had a nice view out the window where you could put a bird feeder or whatever. All of his furniture could go in the room, too. Then the staff showed me where the patio was, and it was very nice. They have a grill out there where they would grill food for the people. It is also backed up to a wooded little area where you could see nature and sit out there. It was very welcoming and very comfortable. I told her that I would move in there myself right now, so that part of it was very, very nice. The residents that were there were more in line with what level my brother-in-law was at physically. He's very mobile, and he has no medical issues with his heart, legs, or lungs -- nothing. It is just his mind right now is having a problem. If money were not an object, I would have him go to StoryPoint just because of the aesthetics of everything."

"My father is in Brookdale Novi. The place is very nice and had just been remodeled, so the rooms were very nice. He seems to enjoy the food, so that is good. The facility looks a little bit older but is nice and very affordable for him. They seem to do a lot of activities, like trips. They have a little exercise facility, which he has been using. That is a great thing. He seems to be really happy there, and we seem very pleased with the place so far. "

"I visited this facility recently (January, 2018). I was really impressed with the cleanliness of this place, and the dedication of the employee who was working at that time. The owners were very nice, and took the time to answer all our questions to our satisfaction. When we got there, it was dinner time, and the residents were sitting down for their dinner. They all looked very neat and clean, and happy!! Really impressive!! Another plus is that they have all private rooms, which is hard to find in Ann Arbor. I would definitely move my dad here, but they had no vacancy. i will strongly recommend this place"

"Brookhaven was very nice, and the people were very friendly. I felt comfortable there, but they did not have wide doors. This was an older building and the doors weren’t 36-inch doors, which is what you need for a wheelchair. They had activities, different games, movie nights, and stuff like that. They had a bus to take them shopping and places. I talked to a friend and they liked it a lot. It was a very nice place, but they couldn’t accommodate a wheelchair in most of the rooms. Some of their stuff was nice, but it’s not conducive to someone in a wheelchair. A couple of the rooms we saw, we really liked, but then I asked if they would widen the doors, and they said that they couldn’t do that. "

"All Seasons have only been opened a few weeks. When I found them, I decided to find out if they had availability and they did. It's 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1000 sq. ft. but they have small units. There is easy access because you have an indoor hallway. Down on the first floor, they also have access to the parking. They offer breakfast and dinner and there is transportation services if you want to go places. The staff are fabulous and they'll do anything for you. They're good about following through and making sure everything is fixed if there's something that you need. They have movies, cards, games and speakers that come in. We're only 3 miles from them so we see my father and mother-in-law a lot. "

"I toured here. The tour was very good. The staff was very nice. The facility was very nice. The décor is themed towards about 1800s Victorian Era England. That was the only facility I visited that had a theme, so the decor was very, very nice. The staff members were very pleasant and very intelligent. The other nice thing they had was that they had a store, a hair salon, and a bunch of other amenities that were all inside, so you never had to go outside. They also had this walking path around the building, so residents could walk around and get exercise outside. That was one of the better facilities I visited. Also, they're the only one that I visited that had a chapel, which was a nice amenity. They had services there, and it's Episcopal. Their dining area was standard. The menu was pretty standard."

"Overall, American House Carpenter is just a really nice place. It would be good for a senior citizen. The rooms were very nice and the staff has good attitude. "

"As a resident of Tranquility, I am very satisfied with my comfortable room and it's great to have a housekeeper to keep things tidy and a laundry lady too, both are so nice. Overall I like the food they serve here and it's great that they have an option to pick low sodium since I am salt sensitive and that there is a variety of dishes to choose from as well. No doubt I feel spoiled at times because the staff here is so caring and compassionate, if I need anything, all I have to do is call!"

"My mom moved to Golden Grace by Majestic Residences. They've been very caring. They're also very good at helping with the transition because we just moved there. The food was very good. There was no smell. Everything was clean and dusted. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. It's not a large facility, but for a group home, it's laid our very well."
