"My parents moved to Superior woods and they have double rooms with double bathrooms as well. We came across it through the hospital social worker. It's a rehab area but they also have assisted living, however, I think they were a little bit low on staff. I would recommended them. "

"My sister really likes Evangelical Home - Sterling Heights. She rehabbed there, but they have memory care as well. You can be a full timer there, and they take Medicaid. She was in there twice for 30 days and 15 days. It was a nice facility with really good staff who were right there all the time. The food was good. There were a lot of people and a lot of things going on. She had to share a room. The staff seemed efficient and did their jobs. They had a lot of parking spots, but they were all filled."

"I was a little hesitant to put my husband here because the building is pretty old but after taking a tour and seeing the renovations that have been done, I realized that it truly is a nice facility. All the staff were wonderful, the residents were so kind and it just put my mind at ease knowing he was getting the care he needed. The admissions director was so polite and able to answer all of my questions so I didn’t have to wonder what we were getting into and went out of her way to be sure things went smoothly. This was a hard decision to make as I never thought we would be needing nursing home placement, but with the caring staff, the wonderful therapy department, and awesome residents that my husband made friends with, I would definitely recommend Regency at Whitmore Lake to anyone who needs rehab or long term care. We will definitely use this facility if we need placement again! "

"Everything is real nice here at Heartland Health Care Center-Canton. They treat you real nice. They do a good job. The caregivers are nice as well. I would recommend it to anybody. You ring the bell, and they come. "

"My mother-in-law was in South Lyon Senior Center for a while. It was nice and clean. A lot of times she didn't want to eat or felt like eating, but sometimes she would have something that she really enjoyed They had quite a few activities, but my mother-in-law did go to them. She was kind of independent. However, they had different rooms where they would meet and talk or interact with each other. Most of the people looked happy while playing bingo or passed the ball around as a physical activity. They had friendly people that helped take people around in their wheelchairs and brought food to them. "

"My mother was at Medilodge of Plymouth. The people were very friendly. It was a much older place. The people were very nice; however, we didn't have the best experience just because of a miscommunication. My mother had a private room, but there wasn't a bathroom in the room. It made it really inconvenient for my mother because she couldn't walk and she had to be transferred into her wheelchair. Out of all the beds they had there, there were only five to six bathrooms that you had to share with multiple people. That was a little bit inconvenient. She didn't really get to participate in many activities while she was there, though they did have them. We didn't have the best experience there as far as that went. Again, the people that worked there were very nice and did what they could."

"The experience we have had at Hope Health Care has had its ups and downs. The staff is either on the good side of the spectrum or the bad. The nurses, some of them really know how to do their job. I have really liked a few of them, and others well I don't understand how they got a job there. The social workers they have there are great. They are willing to work with you 110% on everything you need. Hope has plenty of things to do for the elderly, game days, sing a-longs, bingo, and sometimes they even go out on outings. There was one time they went to a baseball game, my mother in-law loved it. The meals they serve there are pretty good. Usually they have a couple different choices, just in case someone doesn't like the "main" course, they have substitutes for them. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone that needs assisted living, they are kind and courteous at Hope and I am glad we picked them. "

"My mother moved into SKLD Plymouth. They are very caring and very thorough. The facility is clean. They have knowledgeable staff members. The food is good, and my mom is eating it. They do have activities, but my mom's unable to participate. I love their group dining. You can get your hair done. They have crossword puzzles and coloring. I haven't seen anybody unhappy. Everything is covered because my mom is a dialysis patient, so we don't have to pay anything. They make adjustments where needed. If something is off track, they try to ensure that it gets fixed immediately. For example, when my mom gets back from dialysis, they try to make sure everything is warm and ready when she gets situated. I appreciate that."

"Our dad was in Regency for just under 4 weeks. He had been discharged from the hospital to Regency. He had been in PT etc at St. Mary's, but the program was too much for him, so it was rather a quick transition. We didn't really have time to be picky. When we arrived, they got him directly to his room which was clean and light! Dad was pretty out of it, but cooperated as much as he could. In the next few days, we got to know the staff and were thrilled with everyone. The nurses who worked with Dad were very kind and gentle, but kept a close eye on him as he had had a bad fall at the hospital which really incapacitated him. His aides were wonderful, getting him showered and progressively upright. The PT staff was incredible with my dad. The PT specialists that worked with dad made his day and he worked hard for them both! My dad has not been eating well, but they kept offering him as many options as possible. One of his favorite dietary staff members brought him soup after he refused to eat the lunch item, and he gobbled the soup up. They all came in sunny and cheery and seemed to hold dad's affection. He even gave all of them little clothespin Holiday ornaments that he had made a few years ago. By the way, we tried the food, and it was good! I noticed in the dining area, that most plates went pretty untouched. It is definitely not about the cooking, however. The dining staff had music on and made the experience very pleasant for everyone. Dad didn't go to any activities, and he's been pretty low since his fall, but staff members insisted that he get up and sit in the chair and would chat with him and keep him going on his bad days when we weren't there. My siblings and I were very pleased with our experience at Regency. It's a tough job for all, but they work hard to make things as pleasant as possible for people going through hard physical times.
