My dad moved to Regency at Canton. He hasn't been there real long, but I'm pretty happy with everything so far. He hasn't been participating in any activities. They do offer him. I just don't think that he himself is interested at 102. It is a very nice facility.

Caring staff, good food, but small portions, large rooms, but beds were uncomfortable. Guest was only there for a short time for rehabilitation and did not participate in resident activities.

From the moment you walk in, it's clean, beautiful, organized and the rooms are very accommodating. The entire staff is friendly and my mother was treated with kindness and respect. I'm very happy with this facility and would highly recommend it!

The place was very clean and nice for my husband to stay. The staff although short staffed were very friendly and helpful. My husband came home today after being there for a long month. He had foot surgery in Southfield. And is doing well. Thank you for helping him and his wife and family. Oh the room was like a hotel.

Employees there really have taken care of my dad really well and have treated him almost like family. He has really enjoyed his stay there. The room he was in was well-maintained and good size.

Do Not go here! This place looks fantastic from the outside but it is a horribly run facility with Unit Managers who are unable to communicate and provide direction to the staff. They provide noodles and broccoli to a diabetic; no protein. What? Yes, what? Carb laden meals! Specifically, the Nurse Unit Director/Manager has no clue what the staff is doing and could care less the care or lack of care the patients are receiving. She will not discuss the care of your loved one via phone and is inept in providing feedback as to why your loved one has not been given the care the hospital discharged them with. The PT, OT, Social Work really are trying, even the nursing staff is helpful, but whatever you do, do not ask the administration to take responsibility. They could care less to provide the care your loved one is in there to receive. There are much better places! unfortunately, your loved one will not be getting the care they deserve here.

I'm in a rehab place right now at Regency at Canton. Its physical appearance is fine. I'm satisfied with my room. I've been in some other place and this is much nicer. They have bingo and games, though I hadn't really been into it. I know that's all available. The food is the best I've ever had in a rehab place. The staff is very attentive and very nice. The clients seem to be enjoying the activities. They give you a calendar for the whole month, but I haven't gotten a new calendar yet. They wear masks. You don't have to wear it in your room; but if you go out into the open hallway, you have to wear a mask.

Most of the staff here is caring and not in it for just the paycheck. When there is a grievance with a staff they are quick to handle it. The physical therapy and occupational therapy team show they care and encourage you. The food is good. There are activities every day to keep you busy, but if you have the therapy they want you to go to therapy instead. The nurses and CNAs are very helpful.

My grandmother stayed here during the fall of 2019. She stayed in the older section, just north of the dining room and library. The physical therapy staff are all wonderful. The first shift staff are wonderful (especially Bridget? (who was a new hire and still in training I think) and some older white woman (who I can't remember her name)). There was also some 3rd shift woman who my grandmother adored and unfortunately I never met. The doctors, nurses, and administrative staff are wonderful. However, there are problems with some aides, specifically the late afternoon/evening shift. There is a clique of evening shift staff that convert empty patients' rooms into hang-out rooms and close the door so people can't see them, and obviously they don't answer the calls during this time. I always felt bad for the aides who aren't part of the clique, as they try to cover their own patients and because they care about the patients, they will also cover the other aides' patients too. I assume that nothing is done about this because of fear of retribution and a bad evening manager. Obviously, whoever is managing the night shift (7-9pm crew) is bad. Also, when my grandmother moved in to her "clean" and "ready" room, I decided to check the nicely made bed. The bed sheets had what appeared to be blood in them and an old bandage. Clearly not clean. I asked for new bedding and changed the sheets myself. However, I would also note that some of the cleaning staff are wonderful and some obviously don't care. The woman working at that time was great but whoever had previously been assigned to get the room ready, was obviously not....All and all though, this is a very good facility compared to other facilities I have had family members in...if they did something about the bad apples (nursing aides) on 2nd shift, I would have given this place 5 stars.

It was close to home so it made it easy to be there in less than 15 minutes. Most of the CENA's are ok.. there are 3 or 4 who actually do the job they are trained to do. The nurses need to be more attentive. When asking for pain meds it takes a long time before they even respond to the light. One of the CENAs (from days)changing a brief after a BM -- did not even wipe my back side. Had wo other CENAs on afternoons to get it cleaned up. Medications are suppose to be every 12 hours --- Some Days medication was 2 or more hours late. (was told they have a hour window to give meds) Hardly ever received them. They were suppose to get them up into wheelchair at least once a day (was given many excuses why this was not done) When they do come in to change patient they throw the remotes for bed and call light on Floor and leave it there so you can not bother them. FOOD is always COLD or NOT what was ORDERED for patient. One day we came back from appoinment just as they were picking up Lunch trays. It is a good thing we stopped to get lunch or would of not eaten until dinner. Also had an CENA come in while still eating dinner - she took the tray and even with both of us telling her that they were not one she took tray anyway. (then they wonder why they are not eating.) Had one place the tray and table out of reach - came back in and while on phone with patient heard her say well you better get to it. It tool a Phone call to the unit so they could eat. PT/OT are good just wish they would of pushed more. Had asked Admin several times for times meds are being give and list of meds which was not accurate. I was told head of Nursing would get back to me. Never happened. Came in many times to find patient hanging off edge of bed and bed remote/call light no where they could reach them.

This place was the worst place I have ever seen, when you first come in for a tour of this home , your greeted and everyone is full of smiles and welcomes. But after placing our father here it was a nightmare, within weeks he no longer was able to do his rehab for his broken hip, but he did have "field trips" to hospital for being over medicated. Then we found out he has been given antipsychotic drugs for dementia . Problem is he never had dementia! We were told they were mood stabilizers often given to patients that wanted to get out of bed. And also told that with a limited staff, they can't always be there when he needed to use restroom so they diapered him and drugged him so they could do what they did best ... watch YouTube videos at the nursing stations, Daily, we'd find our father at the nursing station over medicated slumped over in a wheelchair. We could not take him home because my mother was unable to care for him, we did look for other places to take him but he only lasted one week after his last visit to hospital for being over medicated.

My mother was a patient, when you go in the place is beautiful, horrible parking thou. I thought this place would be great, but wasn't. They were any where from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hrs late on giving meds, which my mother had a transplant and you have to take medicine on time. By the time she got her food it was cold, hardly ever got what she asked for even thou the chef would send it. Aids left my mother in bathroom for long time without checking on her. Nurses very slow at responding to patients when they hit there call button. I was there one day 5 people at nurses station lights and alarm going off and no one got up to answer. Nurse partitioner came to see her and when my mother told her she wasn't doing well and mentioned a couple she said( well your not happy we can transfer you) which she should have just addressed it not said that to her. One nurse was very rude when my mom first got there, my mom went there because she couldn't hardly walk or sit, the nurse brought her food in sat it by the chair, my mom asked if she could have it by the bed, (she said can't you get up and eat over here). Which really bothered and upset my mother with her tone and my mother didn't eat that day. If you put a loved one there stay in top of nurses and aids and make sure you visit daily to show your presence. If I had to do it again I'd take her someone else.

This place deserves no stars. DO NOT send your loved one EVER!!!!!!! Majority of the staff are there for a job and have no compassion for the patients. They are rushed and never take the time to talk and get to know the needs of the patients. Patients are treated like robots. Call lights range from 15 min to 30 min. One night it was :45. Apparently passing breakfast trays are priority to changing briefs and getting washed and dressed. This happens AFTER they eat and the patients eat in soaked briefs. I would love to make that staff sit in a soiled brief as long as they make the patients. The therapy was great and I want to say there were three staff members I called my angels from above who gave a glimmer of hope. The rest don't follow the care plan and basically they just don't care. DO NOT GO THERE EVER!!!!!!!!!

My Dad spent 6 weeks here and received the BEST care!! His nursing, and Therapy (both physical and speech) were amazing. We moved him from another rehab facility where the care was sub par and were so pleased that there was such a big difference and great care available. We were able to leave him at night knowing he would be so well cared for. Both day and night!!! We can't thank everyone here who took such great care of my Dad (and also my Mom as she visited him daily) Your care and compassion were greatly appreciated by our entire family

As far as a Nursing Home or Rehab facility, this place is top notch when compared to other like facilities. I see that some reviewers complained about the attitude of some individual employees. There are always som bad apples in any barrel. Overall this place is really nice.

My experience here was very great and I really enjoyed my stay here!. All of the staff was excellent! Everyone here was very cordial to me which I really appreciated and I enjoyed being here with the other residents and the staff. The facility is a very nice place to be in order to get better and the staff helps to get you well very quickly. I really appreciated all of the staff in the rehab department especially Jill and Davis who pushed me to get better!

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This facility is a joke, and please don't bring your loved ones here! We we first arrived no one even came to family and spoke to us. My lioved one sat on a bed pan for over an hour, and the nurse was at the station on Facebook eating. The call lights are constantly ringing, and heaven forbid they have to get up. There are some aides that were wonderful, but some of the nurses are rude, lazy, and don't care they expect your loved ones to do on their own even when they can't . They don't even order their food when they aren't able to. I went and spoke to the director Kelly who was suppose to handle this problem with the nurse who was very rude, and she did nothing. I came in the following day, and the nurse smirked at me like it was a joke. When my loved one was released they gave my loved one a paper to fill out on how here stay was I asked them where I should mail it, and they told me to bring it back to them Really so they could just throw it away, because nothing is done in a professional way they just look at you like your crazy. This really needs to be looked into! For this being a new facility I thought it would be better, so please think of your loved ones before you leave them here it all a front when your there cause when you leave it's totally different. Please don't bring your loved one here it's not what you think!!!!!!!!!

I have a brother that has been there for about 6 weeks now. My first visit yes they were clean and did not smell. That was good! My brother had been there for 3 days and when I went to leave he said some thing about his bed didn't work. Looked at it and yes it,did not work. He couldn't bring head up. Went to get help and they already knew it. But done nothing about it. Until til I said they need to fix it now. He will not be staying there. We will find another one for him to live in all the help there are terrible. Fine another place.

I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. My terminally ill mother was at Regency for 3 weeks. Call lights were not answered in a reasonable amount of time (no more than 15 min is reasonable). We spent 12-14 hours a day with her. She received 1 shower in 3 weeks. According to the facility she was to get 2 per week. When I asked, they would say she was on the schedule and never came around. Each morning we found my mom soiled and sitting in a wet bed. The cafeteria would wheel the food cart down the hall and let it sit. The therapists would apologize and were embarrassed at the lack of care, but nothing was done. After call corporate twice, we resorted to contacting the state. We are not demanding people, but there comes a point when unexceptable care day after day is enough. There is not enough staff to care for the needs of these patients. If your loved one has a communication impairment or physical impairment they are left to their own devices. It was very very sad. The day we left, the staff had nothing to say. They knew they were at fault. I cannot believe this facility stays open. I fear for the safety and well being of those residents that do not have family members sitting with them every waking second. PLEASE do your research.

My grandmother was a resident of this facility and I couldn't have been happier. The nursing staff and therapist were great. My grandmother needed a lot of encouragement to get up and do things and they were all very helpful. The unit manager came and checked on her daily jut to see how she was doing. I would bring her back if ever the need came again.

I just would like to provide some information/education from my own experience 1) What some people do not understand is that there are rules/regulations/protocols in place no matter where you go. 2) Medication cannot be ordered until a person is actually admitted, no matter how much advance notice they have!! 3) it is the job of PT/OT to be "pushy" to get you back in shape. If you don't push, just do therapy when you feel good, you WON'T get better!

My mother was a patient here and I am not happy with the level of care she received. They lied in her reports and said she had dementia, said she could not be rehabilitated...No one is on the same page. The building is very pretty and clean, but you need more than that and you don't get much more. The therapist give reports that are lies to the insurance companies, if you are older they want you out, it is all about the Benjamin's...

I would not recommend this facility. Please do not be duped, like I feel I was. My mother had spine surgery and needed short term rehab, and I toured 3 local facilities. Kayla gave the tour, and was very personable, appeared to be caring and compassionate, the facility was quite clean, and the gym looked sufficient. The facility became our first choice, and I took my mother there upon her discharge from the hospital. All of my positive feelings, however, turned the complete opposite upon our arrival at the facility. The staff was not welcoming. They couldn't find a wheelchair to bring my mother in to the building, and when they finally did, it did not have foot rests, and she was too weak to hold her feet up off the ground so her feet dragged on the concrete and floor for part of the transport. We arrived at 5:30 pm and no one was on staff at the time to welcome us, give an introduction to the facility, or do an initial evaluation. We were told none of those things would be able to happen until the next day. My mother had been using a walker successfully at the hospital, but Regency refused to give her a walker while she was on pain meds and told her she had to stay in bed unless she was accompanied by a staff member or visitor. They were late giving her pain meds, and although they had 4 1/2 hours notice from the hospital that she would be arriving, they still did not have her meds on site and able to administer. The final straw was that they did not have her blood-thinner, and therefore she would have to miss her evening dose. The staff was not friendly, not welcoming or caring, and seemed quite incompetent. I was a nervous wreck at the thought of my mother staying there. After 4 1/2 hours, we had had enough, and left. I took my mother home where I am taking better care of her, and she is receiving in home OT and PT, and we are both SOOO relieved and happy we made that choice. The only positive thing I can say was that it was pretty clean. Please do not take your loved one to this place.

I was in the hospital and the Regency at Canton called me three times. They wanted me to come for rehab and building my strength back up. When I first got here, I was really impressed. The buildings and the rooms are clean. There are no odors, but the food is horrible. The staff is great, except for the physical therapy department. They are kind of pushy when you are not feeling good and I don't think you should constantly push a person when they're not feeling good.
