"My husband has been at Fairmont of Farmington Hills. The staff is very attentive and responsive. They're very good here. I don't really have any negatives. My husband likes it here. It's not home, but it's pretty good. His living space is fine. I had to supply some of the stuff to go there, like hangers, toiletries, and a lot of things from home, but I think that's the way it is in most assisted living places. The food is pretty good. My husband is a picky eater, but he likes most of the food here. The facility is very clean. They're very conscientious. The residents here are always doing something. They have chair Tai Chi, trivia Tuesday, and bingo. They have a lot going on. People seem to be enjoying themselves. This is our first experience in assisted living, and it all seems like a lot of money, but he seems happy, and he is safe."

"My mom moved into StoryPoint Farmington Hills a year and a half ago. It was built not that many years ago, so the rooms are well laid out and modern. Everything is well kept up and has been recently updated. Her walk-in shower is better than any shower in my house! The meals are constantly changing with continual input from residents. There are snacks available 24/7. StoryPoint hosts frequent parties, holidays, and celebrations which offer different and elevated food options in addition to lots of fun activities. The rest of the residents here have all been kind and welcoming. There are plenty of different activities each day to choose from to keep anyone interested. Truly, the best thing about this place is the staff. They are all so very friendly and everyone is helpful. All members of the staff greet you and introduces themselves. From the gentleman who cleans her room, to the extremely welcoming front desk, to the office staff, and to every medical professional on staff. Everyone I have talked to seem to really like their jobs and working at StoryPoint. Everyone will offer to help you directly with whatever you need or find the person who can help you if they can’t. We are really glad that we made the choice to have mom live here. She is really enjoying her new home."

"Brookdale Southfield is a beautiful building. It had nice woodwork. There's quite a bit of space for the residents to enjoy themselves in. They had an indoor pool, a nice library, and a couple of private dining areas where you could have parties and that kind of thing. They had a really nice outside area where the residents could sit. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I interacted with the head of guest services quite a bit, and she was very helpful. My parents ended up staying out there for about a week. You could go for a week, just to get an idea of what it would be like to live there, which is nice. They enjoyed the food, and my mother's very picky about what she eats. The building's a little older. It's not quite as spectacular as the other place."

"We're quite satisfied with Pleasant Valley Family Care. It's like a nursing home, only it's a private home and they're licensed by the State. They give my husband everything that a nursing home would. It's pretty good right there. I have high respect for all of them. His room is not huge, but it's plenty big. He has a La-Z-Boy chair, a chest of drawers, a table, a bed, and his own bathroom. It's the cleanest place I've ever been. When you enter, you have to either take your shoes off or put on those plastic booties. There is a little porch in the front where you could go out and sit if you want. They have a chair out there, and those in wheelchairs can bring their wheelchairs out to the front of the house and look at the outside for a while. The staff is the best. They have a piano player that comes in, they have a guitar player that comes in, and they have somebody that comes in and does stuff with the patients. It's every week that someone is there."

"I toured the independent living community of Sterling Place. I walked in at almost 1 o'clock, and the residents were lined up. It must have been a good lunch, and they had two choices for that meal. They have another meal for breakfast, but they don't have dinner. The lunch and breakfast area is lovely. The person who gave the tour showed me a couple of the activities, too. The parking was okay, and they also had a screened-in porch. My tour guide was very personable, and a couple of people welcomed me, which is nice. They said they don't get a lot of people who visit."

"The rooms are kept clean, no smells in the community. Food is excellent. They try to please by communicating with the residents about their needs and wishes. Staff is unhappy due to shortage of personnel but care has always been available."

"I want to share my experience with The Bradford Senior Living. My husband, John, suffers from vascular dementia (dx 01/19), and after a difficult time at his previous facility which could not ensure his safety, I had only 24 hours to find him a new home. Thankfully, I found The Bradford. From the very beginning, they have done an excellent job, providing the care and attention John needs. I am truly thankful for the wonderful staff, and I keep both the staff and residents in my prayers. If I had to describe The Bradford in one word, it would be "Great"."

"Farmington Hills Inn was very clean and well maintained. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the representative when you first walked in acknowledged you. They're a very attentive staff. They showed me all the facilities, what they offer, and their grounds. They're genuinely friendly and very informative. The dining area was well organized. I observed they had a board at the front door with a calendar of different events that they were doing daily."

"We went to American House Village at Bloomfield. It's a nice place, but it's not what we were looking for. The floor plan was a little small, but it was OK. They showed us the common areas and a one-bedroom apartment. The staff who assisted us and gave us the tour was very nice. The place was very clean."
