"We're quite satisfied with Pleasant Valley Family Care. It's like a nursing home, only it's a private home and they're licensed by the State. They give my husband everything that a nursing home would. It's pretty good right there. I have high respect for all of them. His room is not huge, but it's plenty big. He has a La-Z-Boy chair, a chest of drawers, a table, a bed, and his own bathroom. It's the cleanest place I've ever been. When you enter, you have to either take your shoes off or put on those plastic booties. There is a little porch in the front where you could go out and sit if you want. They have a chair out there, and those in wheelchairs can bring their wheelchairs out to the front of the house and look at the outside for a while. The staff is the best. They have a piano player that comes in, they have a guitar player that comes in, and they have somebody that comes in and does stuff with the patients. It's every week that someone is there."

"I am a current resident of StoryPoint Birmingham. I like the friendship and most of the staff. They take good care of us. I have two spaces. I have a living room area and a bedroom and a giant closet. They have different floor plans. They have a great dining room and Casey does a great job. She's the dining room manager. They have a courtyard and some of the activities are really interesting. They took us to go go-karting. That was pretty fun. Overall, I'm pleased with where I'm living. Sometimes the food is not so great, but sometimes it's wonderful. The facility is very nice and very comfortable. They have big nice windows. They do my laundry, they help me change the bed and all kinds of things like that and I don't have to cook. They provide three meals, breakfast, lunch, and then dinner. I've been in other places before and I think it's good for the value."

"I want to share my experience with The Bradford Senior Living. My husband, John, suffers from vascular dementia (dx 01/19), and after a difficult time at his previous facility which could not ensure his safety, I had only 24 hours to find him a new home. "Farmington Hills Inn was very clean and well maintained. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the representative when you first walked in acknowledged you. They're a very attentive staff. They showed me all the facilities, what they offer, and their grounds. They're genuinely friendly and very informative. The dining area was well organized. I observed they had a board at the front door with a calendar of different events that they were doing daily."

"My husband lived here for seven months. The staff is attentive, fun, enthusiastic, caring and tender. The cooks, the cleaners, the front desk, the aides - all very friendly and caring. I recommend this place."

"I toured Magnolia by the Lakes. They were very nice, like a one-bedroom apartment, with beautiful decorations, nice kitchen cupboards, and everything you would need to stay for a couple of weeks or a month. They had a nice walk-in shower, you have the grab bars and everything that seniors need, very nicely appointed. The young man was very friendly. He did a great job. They have a pool and a lift that if someone has difficulty getting in the pool, then the lift can be used, and a nice dining area, just a very nice facility. It's very homey and it's designed like every one area is kind of like a European bistro kind of decoration and just very, very nice. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly."

"Brookdale Troy is our top choice for my dad. It has a very inviting atmosphere. It was very clean and intimate, without being too small. Dan, the salesperson, has been wonderful. He just seemed to know what he was doing. In the studio room of the assisted living, we were told that we can bring our own mini fridge and a microwave. They have a courtyard with lots of sitting areas."

"I liked that American House Stone is just one floor so my mother would not have to deal with any stairs or elevators and the price point was important to us. We were fortunate to be able to eat a meal there and my mother, who is very particular, enjoyed the food. There were a lot of options for her. If she didn't want somebody doing her laundry for her, they said that that was no problem and that she could do her own laundry. So, there were things like that, which made her feel more that she was living independently and not reliant on somebody else for everything, which was important to her. She didn't want to feel like she was giving up total control, and they were very willing to work with her on that. Everybody was very kind to us. This was the second time that some of us had visited there, and they remembered us from a previous visit, which was surprising even to remember the names. So, we're very pleased with how we were treated. They were friendly, helpful, and very kind. They even gave my mother a to-go container of more food, because she liked it so much. The facility was clean, but there were a few things that were dated or wear and tear, but nothing bad. The room that my mother is going to be moving into has a new carpet, new paint, and things like that. There were four of us that they served lunch to, and everyone was very pleased with the food."

"We toured American House The Village. It was a great tour. We get to see a lot of the facilities and the added activities. We liked the people there and the independent units. They were bright, cheerful, spacious, and bigger than what I had expected. The staff did a great job answering our questions and presenting things to us. We went through the dining room and watched people eat, but we didn't eat there. They have a top chef, so I assume the meals are good, and they allow us to have a pet."

"I went here. This was a high-class place. When you walked in, it was elegant. That was like the regular assisted living and such, and then you went into the memory care part, and it was the same as the assisted living with the same set-up building. It was clean, cheerful, and elegant. The staff were very nice. They seemed very attentive. They were great. They seemed to have activities going on, and they're right next to a dog park, which for my mother would interest her. If she couldn't be at the dog park, she would be able to watch the people and their dogs, which is equally as enjoyable. They had it all. They had the gym. They had a nice courtyard. They do activities with them. They've got a weekly sheet of what they do every day, and it seemed to be pretty active. In terms of location, for me, I live in Troy, so it's close. It's a very lively area."
