"Mary's Residential Care for Seniors was a nice place. The rooms were kind of small and they don't have showers in the rooms, but the overall condition of the place was nice. The staff were really nice and very friendly. They have somebody on staff who makes meals, so you can order the meal you want. You don't have to take what they give you. They have different activities in memory care. The dining area was nice. They had a really nice living area, too. They even have a patio."

"My mother moved into American House. They're very friendly, everything is up to code, it's beautiful, and my mother is very happy with it. She has a 2-bedroom on the first floor, it's huge, and she loves it. They have Bingo, a pool table, puzzles, exercise, a TV downstairs in the living room, and they love to watch the ballgame. The have a gazebo right outside her room, people go out there in the evening, and it's really nice. They have a bus that takes them shopping, to doctors' offices, and to the bank. The hallways were just redone. They just put a breakfast bar in the dining room, and in the entryway, they've got a place for coffee, drinks, cereal, and pastries 24 hours a day. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and everybody seemed to know the residents by name. It's right next to a Meijer's shopping center."

"My mom will move into The Arbor Inn. When I went on the tour, it was big enough that she would have a wide pool of people that she could socialize with, yet small enough that you wouldn't be lost in the shuffle. The place was extremely clean. There was a couple there that were cleaning out a room, as the husband's father had passed away. While we were walking down the hall, they both told me what a wonderful place this was, how well they cared for their dad, and that I was making a good choice if I chose to have my mom go into that facility. So, with all that in consideration, that's why I chose the Arbor Inn. There was an ice cream social going on, and we joined in. The ice cream was good. The apartment is nice. It is a single with a private bath. It's spacious enough to get all the essentials in there for her, and she should be very comfortable. I met several members of the staff. They all seemed very friendly. It was obvious they cared for the patients they were attending to, which impressed me."

"I toured American House Sterling Heights. It didn't seem as busy or active as the other facility, but it was a nice, clean, and friendly environment. I met only one other staff member besides the manager there, but they were friendly and nice. The setup didn't kind of feel that one too much."

"The thing I like best about American House Sterling Woods is the people. Everyone here is so nice, the staff and residents. I'm a picky eater, and I'm on a special diet, I'm supposed to have low salt and things like that, so the food is good. I put my garbage outside and it seems like it's only out there for an hour or two and then it's picked up. Everything is clean. I can see them always vacuuming and wiping things down. Every night is a game night of some sort like bingo We took a trip to the casino last week. There are some religious activities. But I'm not a person who likes a lot of activities. I like being by myself, I like reading, and I like doing jigsaw puzzles and things like that. I love my room though. It's 900 square feet, but it feels a lot larger. It's very well put together."

"The care my husband receives at Brookdale Utica is excellent. The caregivers are wonderful and all staff members are very helpful. The food is nutritious and medications are given on time. The room is always clean."

"I visited Sunrise of Shelby Township's assisted living for my mom. The community is very nice, the environment is open and airy, and the staff is very attentive. I got to meet with one of the coordinators and their head maintenance person, so I got to see some additional things beyond what one would normally see. I got to tour the rooms and the outside facilities, and see the dining area. They had an event going on, so I got to see part of that, too. They had a guy come in and sing. It was a very nice and comprehensive tour. They took the time with me as I needed, so it was very good. They had a variety of rooms with different floor plans, depending on where you were. It all seemed very nice and they seemed roomy enough without being too large. The dining area was very comfortable, although it was a little small. The chefs and the people who were waiting at the tables were also present in the dining area because people were eating there when I was there, which is very nice."

"We chose to move Mom to Meadows Assisted Living and Care Campus because of its proximity to my home and my father's home and the price. It just worked out. What I like the best about it is that it's smaller, so I know that mom is going to get more personal care and so far, so good. The food seems fine. I'm happy with it and she's eating well. It's a nice and clean place. Everything about it seems good. There is a courtyard that's quite nice, too."

"I toured American House East I. I was impressed, and it was more impressive than the other 2 places I went to. I'm still waiting for an opening there. When I drove up, it looked like a very nice campus. The buildings were spread around, the lawns were mowed. There wasn't a lot of commotion outside or anything, so The outside looked good. And then when I went on the inside, it was huge inside, different places like a gym, and a dining room. The staff was excellent, a professional lady, worked with me very well, and she's very impressive. There are a lot of activities going around. I just wish I was living there right now so I can get involved and all that. They put the groups together and they talked about different things about aging, or they talked about exercises to do, to make you feel better."

"I visited here for my Mom, what a warm and Happy Place to live! The Staff were so helpful and kind, knew residents by name. Staff answered all my questions and gave me a Lovely tour of apartment and facilities. Jade was my advisor and she was so accommodating, knowledgeable and delightful. Here a parent or spouse can have a real home and all the extras for medical needs and house keeping. I felt it was a happy and safe place for my Mom. I highly recommend and pricing is not bad for all that you get in return. Peace of mind!"

"Bickford of Shelby Township had a very much more social atmosphere. They had more activities and more ways for residents to get together. It was clean and welcoming. They had outside activities like outdoor trips. They have a barber/beauty salon. They have transportation. The staff was very friendly. They had a very good cafeteria style for dining. It was warm. They were having lunch and they seemed to like having lunch and being out of their room."
