"My husband will be in Linden Square Senior Care just for two weeks. We chose it because I couldn't find any place for respite care that was less than a month. I was very impressed with the facility. Patty was wonderful, warm, caring, and knowledgeable. Every staff member I met was happy. The place was very nice and clean. The rooms we looked at were single and double rooms, and they were fine, especially for our needs. The dining area was nice too. Everything looked clean. They said the food was very good. It's pretty much homemade. They had lots of parking space and it was very easy."

"Vibrant Life Superior Township was quite nice. The people that I met there and the people that I talked to were very kind and very helpful. I visited the memory care and it was clean and pleasant. It looked like the residents were well taken care of. It has a nice outdoor courtyard. The gentleman that is in charge was very kind and very nice. It was not the most updated/modern facility, but it was nice."

"The rooms here did have a patio that led outside to a courtyard so my parents could let the dog out and that was important to us. The facility was beautiful. The staff really seemed to know the residents well, like the person who toured us knew the people in the building and they knew her. The residents were coming up and talking to me and telling me about living there. It seemed very homey. They had a salon and a library."

"I went to Serenity Manor. It's a home with a max of six residents. They have two owners, and one of them lives there. She lives in the upstairs apartment. There is always two to three staff, so you have a great ratio of staff to residents. Currently, none of the residents are ambulatory. Most of them are advanced dementia patients and need to be lifted with a Hoyer. Right now, it's not ideal for them, but that's what they're getting. Right now, advanced memory care is what they're getting now. I couldn't even talk to the patients because they were so demented. It's a higher level of care and a lot of one-on-one. I think one of the rooms is shared. It's extremely clean. When you walk in, you were in the kitchen common area. Off to the right are the dining room and the living room, and then behind the kitchen is an L-shaped hallway with bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, too. It's very clean and very nice. If I had somebody who needed 24-hour care like that, that'd be great. I was impressed with the staff, too. "

"I did a tour of Lakeside Assurance Assisted Living. It was a private residence converted into a facility. It has a total of four residents; there were two that were there and there were two open rooms. It was laid out well for a conversion, and it had a common area that was set up that was very roomy. The facility was laid out nicely. There was a part of the facility that was still being developed into a guest room that was under development, but the rest of the place was set up nicely. It was very clean, and it had a cook that prepared the meals, taking into consideration dietary requirements. The administrator that we met with, Brenda, was very detailed in explaining why she started the facility. Her mother had dementia, and she was struggling with having her in a big facility. She decided to develop this, so she would know about her mother's care and everything. She had a connection with a physician and a podiatrist who would visit regularly. The meals and the laundry in the room are all included. Then it would accommodate my sister's furniture, so that was nice. I think she had to have familiar surroundings. I think they could accommodate both assisted living and memory care, but right at that time, it seemed like the residents that were there were dementia patients. We only met with Brenda, and she's seemed very compassionate, caring, and concerned about details about my sister. What kind of activity level she was? Is she verbal at all? Did she interact with people? I thought that was very positive. I think she would be engaged with my sister. It's still under construction partially, but the part that we saw, she set it up very specific to taking care of the residents."

"My mom moved here 2 months ago. It has been life changing. They have given her 24/7 support. She’s sleeping better, taking part in activities and gaining weight for the first time in 2 years. The staff and a management have been so helpful, helping make sure she takes her medications, weekly doctor visits, even helping with VA benefits paperwork. "I visited here for my mother. It's beautiful, and I think they have a different theory on how to do things. I feel like there is going to be much more dignity and much more communication among the careworkers, so I think that's probably going to be our best choice if we decide to move mom. They have social distancing and masks at all times. We were happy with everything we saw there."

"A&R Premiere Care just had new add-ons to their facilities. What I liked the most about it was the lady that runs it is a nurse and then her husband is also a healthcare person. I think he's a physical therapist or something. They were both very nice and very helpful."

"My mother is in American House Westland Joy. It's a good place for independent living. They do meal delivery, which is very good, but other assistance is not very good. They're very nice people. She's supposed to be assisted living. I didn't know my mom would need more care because she was independent at her home. When I moved her there, I thought she would be able to get used to the place, but she can't find her way out of her room and down to the dining room, or activities or anything. She's kind of trapped in her room pretty much. My sister and I would come every day, but she wouldn't remember. I have all her meals delivered up to the door. They don't have somebody checking on people. She needs more like a babysitter-type person, and they don't have anything like that there. It isn't a good fit for her. It's a very good place for independent living, though, and they have nice activities. They have some assistance, i.e., you can pay for medicine or shower and that sort of thing, but mostly their people are all independent there. It just didn't work out for my mom. The staff is very nice. The food is good. Mom can't find her way down there, so they always come and knock on the door and say, "We're going to have bingo in another ten minutes" or whatever, and then she says, "OK, thank you." There isn't anybody to assist them down. If they had somebody to assist people, it would be better. We had trouble with a lot of different things. Right now, we can't regulate the heat in the room. It's 82 degrees in her room and I've been trying to call for the past month and get that straightened out, also the shower, and the leak in the kitchen, and all that. The elevators are no good. It's not as expensive as a lot of other places I've seen."

"Of all the places I've visited, I like Marquette House the best. My dad has been there for over three months now. He is a private room. It's small, but it is just perfect for him. I like the staff there, and I like how they were caring for the residents that are there. The management staff works with me for be being to afford the facility. The nursing staff and the assistants call me if there are any problems. They offer different kinds of activities like they take them to the stores or have some crafts there. Overall, it has been very good. "

"This facility is nestled in the community of Westland, MI a western suburb of Detroit, MI. It is surrounded by well groomed lawns with many large trees on a boulevard of newer condominiums, walking paths, and is close to shopping and public transportation. Upon my many visits to the facility I was always greeted by welcome smiles from the staff and other residents. Upon entering the vestibule, each visitor must sign in with their name, time of visit and the name of the resident you are visiting. You must also sign out when you leave. Once approved you are let in to the "Grand Room" with adjacent dining area. This well appointed living room is to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. I noticed a few residents playing a friendly game of cards at a nearby game table ( there were several ) other residents enjoying the companionship of each other while working together on a jigsaw puzzle and still others sitting comfortably while chatting with their visitors. It is well lit and cheerful. On my many visits I witnessed the phenomenal care given to the residents from the Nurse Assistants, Housekeeping and Management staff. The facility provides the residents with 3 nutritious meals, well planned weekly entertainment events and scheduled outings to local interests for those that are ambulatory. Each suite though not large boasted a small but modern fully equipped kitchen, living/dining area, safety grip bathroom and bedroom. Many residents enjoyed the flexibility of preparing small meals and or heating up left overs brought by family members. The price was excellent and based on the level of care each resident needed; from minimal care to more advanced care. We shopped other facilities in the area but for the amenities we found at American House Westland-Hunter Senior, they could not be beat. Thumbs up! "
