"My friend is a resident of The Bells Assisted Living. The care is excellent. The place and the apartments are beautiful. Any situation that needs attention is dealt with quickly. Somebody comes in and cleans for him. He is in a small one-bedroom. The bathroom is great because of the accessibility to the shower. It is a very comfortable place. They have a library, but if you get set up so that if you want to be alone, you can be alone. If you seek company, you can go down to the common room. They have different activities going on, card playing, and puzzles."

"My mother-in-law is a resident of The Pines of Goodrich. It is great; it is very nice. The staff members are wonderful. They provide around-the-clock care. My mother-in-law's room is spacious, beautiful, and very clean. Their dining area is very nice, clean, and accommodating. Their dining area is wonderful and more like a restaurant. It is a real gathering place. The food is good too. We never have to worry about my mother-in-law there. They're all wonderful, they know her, and they know us. It has been a real relief. The activities are very nice. It is pretty pricey, but it is worth it."

"I went to tour BeeHive Homes of Oxford. Everyone was nice. The facility was clean. They spent a lot of time with us. They have a smaller cafeteria because they cater to a much smaller group. There are not as many people. The rooms were studios. They have their private bathroom in each one. There was nothing wrong with them, but they were just generic. They weren't as many activities as the other facility. There were very few. They have a bus that will take people in and out, and they have a smaller common area, but they have a nice outdoor area."

"My grandmother is at The Pines of Burton. I like it. They followed Covid-19 safety precautions. They had very nice and very respectful staff. They were a bit pricy, but they provided quality care to their residents. They were very respectful of maintaining safety for their residents as well. As far as folks who may have wanted to attempt to visit, someone they considered a loved one, but that loved one did not consider them; i.e., ex-husbands and things like that. They were very good at taking those kinds of precautions as well. Due to Covid-19, I wasn't able to sit and dine with my loved one because visitors were only allowed to come in within the standard restricted areas, and dining was a public space. It was a little pricy, but not as pricy as other facilities."

"We toured American House Grand Blanc. What I liked most was the very welcoming people. The leasing agent was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We had lunch there, and the kitchen staff came out and talked to us about substitutions as well as the menus. We also had someone on the cleaning staff who just came up to us and talked about what they offer: daily trash if you want it, weekly cleaning, and laundry facilities that are available. The facility was very clean. American House had the nicest apartment kitchen we saw at any place. American House, being a little bit older, had the nicest kitchen. So, rather than just a kitchenette, they had a little kitchen nook, and more flexibility in terms of a larger refrigerator and stuff. Although my sister won't use it, it was more of a kitchen than a kitchenette. From that standpoint, the American House had the nicest layout. I was happy with the American House."

"Tranquility Estates is fabulous. That's the one we have chosen. I like the ambiance, the cleanliness, the room size, the positive attitude, and the food. It is all inclusive. They provide three meals a day. They have balconies and a courtyard, too."

"Everything was very nice over at Living Waters Buell Lake. The person in charge was very good. The place was clean. I remember they had a nice community room and they had an event going on that day. The kitchen looked very good. They did have a patio that looked out over a lake. The staff who gave me the tour was very family-oriented. The dining room looked like it was very well organized. It was a very clean- looking place and well-lit. It was a very simple place. It had 2 hallways and 19 rooms."

"They had people sharing rooms, like two people in a room. It was a three story building, they had an elevator going up and two floors had the patients' rooms and a nurses' station. The top floor was like a recreational room where you can play cards. You could talk to the residents there and they seem to be enjoying games. The patients are enjoying each other's company. The staff there were very, very nice. They had a church service going on when I was there and it seemed like there's a nice community feeling. If there's something that a potential resident likes to do, they make sure they would have activities in their interest. They seem like they're really engaging the people and getting them involved in things. I would recommend this to others. "

"My mom moved into Vista Springs Washington Place. It's beautiful, the ratio is five citizens to one caretaker. It's very clean. They go out of their way to individualize the care for each of the members that are there. It's very well taken care of. Her room is very roomy. We got to bring in her furniture to make it individualized to what her needs are. It's gorgeous. It's very well taken care of. Her room is very roomy. They have a family dining room. They have a barbershop. They also have two four seasons rooms. They have an outdoor pavilion so families can meet outdoors."

"We saw Vista Springs Trillium Village Estate. It's like five minutes from my house. It was very clean. It looks brand new. I like that they have five people to one aide, rather than half a dozen or more for one person. It's not like a hospital. They seemed friendly, and I saw that they were taking care of the people who were there. I didn't look at the premium rooms. I looked the next one up, and they seemed a good size."

"I went to Grace Senior Living Rochester Hills. It's smaller than most. It only has 20 people in memory care, and I think 65 people, maybe in assisted living. So a total of 85 so I think they're all about the care more than about the amenities of the building. Some of them I've been to have beautiful buildings, but I don't think they're getting as good care. I like the staff a lot. They were very helpful. The nurse came to our home to interview my husband ahead of time. I've never had that happen before. So, they could custom-make a program right to his needs. So that impressed me. And it's small. It's only right now one, the owner lives locally in Rochester, and so they only own that one and they're building one other. So, the owners are hands-on. It's not a chain. Like most of them, they have a couple of hours a day where they get together as a group and they play games or they do social activities together. They also have craft rooms they go to. They get taken down for entertainment if they're interested in the first level. So, they have use of the whole building. They can go down to the assisted side, but only with either a caregiver or a family member or friend. They can't go down there without them, but they have access to the theater. They have a movie theater downstairs, entertainment, a beauty shop, and normal things. I like the smallness of it. That's part of it."
