"My husband moved to The Bells Assisted Living. He has two rooms. He has a bedroom and he has a sitting room. They have their gathering rooms and large areas. So he's got a lot of space for himself, like having his little apartment. The food is pretty good, there could be bigger servings, but as older people, they don't know what they're getting and can always get what they need. They do all the laundry. They take care of all of the bedding and clothes. The facility itself is fairly new, very clean, and bright. I like all the staff. One thing they're low on is entertainment, but everything else is fine."

"My loved on is in The Pines for about a week, and she's perfectly happy in a nice-sized, single room with a private bath. The staff is very courteous, and the food is very satisfactory. "

"I toured BeeHive Homes of Oxford. They accept non-memory care residents but everyone there is in memory care. They don't have it segregated or in different sections. That kind of turned me away because they're like, 'Look, everyone's here is memory care.' It's kind of depressing, so for someone who doesn't need that, one would be upset. However, I appreciate how nice and upfront they were about it. They're very transparent. It's not that they don't offer regular assisted living, it's just that they very much discourage it because it's not segregated. Everyone in there is a memory care resident. The staff were very nice and very transparent, so that part was good."

"The Pines of Burton was small which we liked because it would be less confusing for someone who has memory problems. We're impressed with the staff, who seem to be very kind and accommodating. The cook is very accommodating and if they want something that's not on the menu, they usually get it. My mom is impressed with the food. I liked that they have an aviary inside which was very good, and my mom really likes the birds, which is good for her. It seems like the people who work there really care about the residents, which is the most important thing to us. My mom gets the care that she needs and I believe that they're delivering that. The staff could use a little bit of training on helping with transferring people from bed to the chair to the toilet in order to make it more comfortable for the people being transferred. Based on the amount of care that my mom needed, their price seemed reasonable."

"I moved to American House Grand Blanc and am staying in their independent living. From the very start, it just honestly felt like home. I was very impressed with the staff. I'm also very impressed and welcomed by the residents. I'm just very, very happy here. I also like the activities that they offer daily. There are a number of them, like bingo, movies, painting, and arts and crafts. They also incorporate many things within the community and have the community participating in events, too. The food is like home cooking, and the staff in the dining room is also amazing. It's like they can't do enough for you. The facility is neat, clean, and very homey. It is not like a nursing home or a hospital. The available services are housekeeping and, for an additional fee, they will also do the laundry for the residents. They do have laundry facilities here on the second floor at no charge."

"As a resident of Tranquility, I am very satisfied with my comfortable room and it's great to have a housekeeper to keep things tidy and a laundry lady too, both are so nice. Overall I like the food they serve here and it's great that they have an option to pick low sodium since I am salt sensitive and that there is a variety of dishes to choose from as well. No doubt I feel spoiled at times because the staff here is so caring and compassionate, if I need anything, all I have to do is call!"

"Living Waters Buell Lake was very warm and caring. That was the place where I had decided to put my sister if she needed to be placed, but she is still able to function here at my home with me. When I walked in, the people that live there were very outgoing. They love the place that they're in. They couldn't say enough good things about the people that take care of them. I thought that was kind of odd because one woman has a memory care issue, but she is very happy being there. The staff was very attentive. Any issue or question I had, she answered. She's very caring. The rooms were nice and clean. They had furniture in there if my sister needed it, but if not, they would store it, and she could use her own furniture. When you first walk in, there's a family room dining area, and it's all open. Then the kitchen is right off to the right. It's pretty big. It's like a real family room dining area. After they had eaten their breakfast, they put activities on the table for them to do. There was one woman coloring. And for their food, they put a menu on the wall. They write out everything that they're going to have that day to be able to choose from for food. The staff who gave the tour was nice. Everything was new. Everything was remodeled. "

"They had people sharing rooms, like two people in a room. It was a three story building, they had an elevator going up and two floors had the patients' rooms and a nurses' station. The top floor was like a recreational room where you can play cards. You could talk to the residents there and they seem to be enjoying games. The patients are enjoying each other's company. The staff there were very, very nice. They had a church service going on when I was there and it seemed like there's a nice community feeling. If there's something that a potential resident likes to do, they make sure they would have activities in their interest. They seem like they're really engaging the people and getting them involved in things. I would recommend this to others. "

"My mother has lived at Flourish Collection (previously Blossom Springs Assisted Living) for the past 4 years. The care she receives after suffering a stroke has been wonderful. The staff treats her like a family member and gives me piece of mind when I can’t be with her. While nothing is perfect, they are always willing to listen and try to correct whatever the problem may be. While I don’t live that close to the community, I wouldn’t move her anywhere else based on the facility and care she receives. I would recommend Flourish Collection to anyone looking for a community for their loved ones."

"My dad is a resident of Flourish Collection at Rochester. What I like most about it is that the location is two miles from our house. It is set in a beautiful Rolling Hills Community and it has an active lifestyle for an aging population and there are quite a few activities. An overarching experience that we have had is that anything that needs addressed is done in a very expeditious way. The staff is fantastic and personal. They know my dad, and they know me by name. They are always available and ready to help. He lives in an independent ranch home, two-bedroom, two full bath, garage, laundry room, kitchen, family room, and lanai. It has new carpet, fresh paint, and luxury vinyl flooring. It does have safety pull cords and a daily check-in system that if he has not personally checked in, they will follow up and go to his unit and check in on him. There might have been slight variations as having a corner end unit versus a middle unit. They offer valet and chauffeur service. There's music, which my dad really enjoys. They have a pool, a clubhouse, bocce, pickleball, and hot tub that is available to any of the residents to reserve individually or enjoy as a community. They also have onsite healthcare. There are in-home visits by a nurse practitioner on a weekly basis every Monday, which is fantastic. They have in-home podiatry care, which is every other month and they do feet and hands. They offer vision care and they have hearing aid appointments. They have in-home dental care as well. My dad doesn't have a dog, but I see that they have a little van that pulls up to groom and wash and care for your dog. There are quite a few residents that have dogs that I've seen. He has had in-home physical therapy as well, which is fantastic. You're not running around town trying to coordinate that and as a family member/caregiver/helper, it allows me to still raise my family while knowing that he's cared for there. The community director gave me access to communicate with him and he is always available. If there is a problem, it's addressed immediately. It does feel more personal than it does a machine or a corporation. My son and the community director's son were playing against each other at a local high school baseball game and the community director came down to my car and got my dad out of the car and helped him walk up to the game. It's personal. It's not just a business. They care and they want to help make their golden years comfortable and enjoyable and special for them. My dad does go to the dining room on occasion."

"My dad was here, and it was excellent. The staff went over and above with their care, and they were very personable with him. The room was spacious and had enough room for his bed, a dresser, and a recliner. At one time, he had a small kitchen table in there, a fridge, a microwave, and built-in storage. The food was very nice, and they give them a choice, two choices for their dinner. He had a hard time when he was ill, and when he couldn’t make it down there, they would bring his dinner to him. They would take them to shopping or on outings, and they had someone that would come in, sing, and did pure exercises. I would recommend it to anyone. "
