"My dad has been in Oakland for almost 3 years. They've been very responsive in taking care of any issues that we've had. They've been a couple of issues which usually are communication issues. The staff has always been friendly, though in the last year they're overworked. They don't offer a diabetic type menu and it would be nice if they would offer a variety. They tend to have a lot of sugary things on their menu. They had activities but in the past year they haven't had anything, because of COVID, they've just requested that they not gather. I think it's better than a lot of the other places that I've encountered over the past three years when we've been looking for places to change them to, that are a little more convenient for us as the children."

"My mother visited 5 times before making her decision to live here. Each time, we met friendly staff and residents who spoke highly of Kelley the Manager. The cleaning and wait staff were friendly and relaxed while serving the residents. This atmosphere along with the cleanliness, bright open areas and apartment choices is why my mother finally selected Genesee Gardens. There’s no other place like this in the Flint area. "

"We toured Lockwood of Genesee. We liked the grounds. They kept the grounds nice. The people were awesome. It has a two-bedroom, one-bath, kitchen, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. The person who took us around was very nice, knew her apartment complex, and explained everything very well. You don't have to have meals included, so if you want them, you can get them. It was a good and very clean building."

Pontiac Village Estates Co-op, is located off of Walton Boulevard, just west of Perry Road. This 77-unit apartment building opened its doors in November 2014, with spacious apartments, a computer center, an exercise room, gated parking, and much more! A pleasant living environment is provided with a buzzer/intercom system in every apartment that is operated by the resident/member for entry into the building. Pontiac Village Estates Co-op offers a healthier and safer environment to live in by being a 100% smoke-free building. Smoking is not allowed within the individual apartments, the common areas, and within 25 feet of the building. Activities are planned by the resident/members and include luncheons, dinners, bingo, card nights, exercise classes, and many other activities. Members have a voice in the management of the building and are encouraged to participate. The co-op is within walking distance to the bus line, retail establishments, and an urgent care facility.

"It was clean, fresh, uplifting, and felt like a beautiful hotel. The staff was helpful, and there were activities. I saw the library, which had nice chairs and interesting pictures on the walls."

"My favorite one is Lockwood of Waterford. It was just remodeled, so everything was modern. It looked classy. The rooms could have been a little bit bigger. The food was all freshly cooked. The staff was very nice. The activities were very similar. The building was near the main road, but more than a block in, so it felt secluded. It was very close to lots of shopping. They took the residents to the doctors. The staff members that I met were very nice and helpful. They had aerobic exercises and crafts. The place was gorgeous."

"The team here is always warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Staff members take the time to be attentive, helpful, and respectful, creating a positive and comfortable atmosphere. The dining service is also excellent, with well-prepared meals, good variety, and a team that makes every dining experience pleasant and enjoyable."

"I love StoryPoint Fenton, but it's too expensive for my brother-in-law. It's beautiful. The whole facility is top-notch. It is very open and welcoming. There is a huge gathering area. The receptionist is right there to greet you. They had the director right away, and they took me to a model room that was set up. It was a one-bedroom and it had a refrigerator. It was very, very nice. However, that was an assisted living senior community, and that was not what I was looking for. I was looking for memory care-assisted living. They would do an assessment of my brother-in-law before he was allowed to live there. He probably could fit into the assisted part of it, but that part was too big for him. It's all one level, which is good, but I think that with him getting himself from his room to where they have to go and eat would have been difficult, because the layout wasn't good for him in the memory state that he is in right now. I also went to memory care. It was beautiful. We walked through it. It was very nice. They have a nice little area where you could go in and sit by a fireplace and watch movies. The kitchen was right there. They only have 16 residents, which is nice. They were finishing up lunch when I got there. They have several little areas where you could sit down and have a conversation or play a game. The windows were on each side of a nice wide hallway. They showed me a room that my brother-in-law would have. It was a studio. Somebody had just moved out of there, and they were in the process of painting it and getting it freshened up for the next person to come in. It had a nice view out the window where you could put a bird feeder or whatever. All of his furniture could go in the room, too. Then the staff showed me where the patio was, and it was very nice. They have a grill out there where they would grill food for the people. It is also backed up to a wooded little area where you could see nature and sit out there. It was very welcoming and very comfortable. I told her that I would move in there myself right now, so that part of it was very, very nice. The residents that were there were more in line with what level my brother-in-law was at physically. He's very mobile, and he has no medical issues with his heart, legs, or lungs -- nothing. It is just his mind right now is having a problem. If money were not an object, I would have him go to StoryPoint just because of the aesthetics of everything."

"It was very clean looking and neat. The rooms were a nice-size and there was no smell. Everything seemed very, very nice. The prices were very reasonable. The staff was very informative and very helpful. I just hope they'd keep the prices low so people can actually afford to go there. Other than that, just keep it clean and neat, and make it look more like somebody's home. "

"Lockwood of Fenton was a very good place. The rooms were clean and spacious and were offered in different sizes depending on the price. The activities were nice. I saw the food being served, and the dining room was very nice. They were doing some remodelling, including the entryway, which will make it a lot nicer. The staff was very helpful and nice. They had a lot of rooms for different kinds of activities. "

"My dad moved into American House Village of Rochester Hills. So far, it's been pretty good. The thing that I like the most is the attention to their residents. They seem to actually stay connected. They look out for their needs and follow up with any situations that arise. They seem to be pretty well connected with their residents. They have a pretty good meal program. It is three meals a day. So far, the food that I experienced has been pretty good. They do keep their residents engaged with lots of activities, like the Wii games and other other things that are available. The property is well-maintained and upkeep is very good. They do have good activities, but I believe they could possibly add a few more things."

"Everything was very good. There was no problem. My father was there for six weeks. He was happy there. The food was good. He enjoyed it, and he ate everything when he could. He had a room, and it was nice. "
