"I toured BeeHive Homes of Oxford. They accept non-memory care residents but everyone there is in memory care. They don't have it segregated or in different sections. That kind of turned me away because they're like, 'Look, everyone's here is memory care.' It's kind of depressing, so for someone who doesn't need that, one would be upset. However, I appreciate how nice and upfront they were about it. They're very transparent. It's not that they don't offer regular assisted living, it's just that they very much discourage it because it's not segregated. Everyone in there is a memory care resident. The staff were very nice and very transparent, so that part was good."

"We're moving my mom this Friday at Leisure Manor. First off, it was a really nice facility and only 5 miles from my house. It seemed like a very nice, family-owned business. I like that it's kind of like in the woods and it's really homey like. The staff was wonderful. Their rooms were a little bit smaller than I would like but I like the people and the whole atmosphere. They did have activities for their residents. They have like the regular exercise, dance and music, outings, and they also would have actors come in. They have a hairdresser in-house. They just have all the things that we wanted for my mom. "

"I went to Grace Senior Living Rochester Hills. It's smaller than most. It only has 20 people in memory care, and I think 65 people, maybe in assisted living. So a total of 85 so I think they're all about the care more than about the amenities of the building. Some of them I've been to have beautiful buildings, but I don't think they're getting as good care. I like the staff a lot. They were very helpful. The nurse came to our home to interview my husband ahead of time. I've never had that happen before. So, they could custom-make a program right to his needs. So that impressed me. And it's small. It's only right now one, the owner lives locally in Rochester, and so they only own that one and they're building one other. So, the owners are hands-on. It's not a chain. Like most of them, they have a couple of hours a day where they get together as a group and they play games or they do social activities together. They also have craft rooms they go to. They get taken down for entertainment if they're interested in the first level. So, they have use of the whole building. They can go down to the assisted side, but only with either a caregiver or a family member or friend. They can't go down there without them, but they have access to the theater. They have a movie theater downstairs, entertainment, a beauty shop, and normal things. I like the smallness of it. That's part of it."

"My mother has been there for a couple weeks now. She is always clean, nicely dressed, and seems to enjoy all the activities they have. The staff in Memory Care are amazing. As a loved one, who was the major caregiver prior, I really appreciate their patience and attention to making my mother feel special. This week they attended a tea party, put on by the Activities Director and staff. In the morning the Memory Care Activities coordinator, polished the ladies fingernails, so they were ready for tea. "My grandmother is at The Pines of Burton. I like it. They followed Covid-19 safety precautions. They had very nice and very respectful staff. They were a bit pricy, but they provided quality care to their residents. They were very respectful of maintaining safety for their residents as well. As far as folks who may have wanted to attempt to visit, someone they considered a loved one, but that loved one did not consider them; i.e., ex-husbands and things like that. They were very good at taking those kinds of precautions as well. Due to Covid-19, I wasn't able to sit and dine with my loved one because visitors were only allowed to come in within the standard restricted areas, and dining was a public space. It was a little pricy, but not as pricy as other facilities."
