Overall, I like the atmosphere at Devonshire Retirement Village. They all seemed very caring. The residents were very happy, and I felt very comfortable talking to them regarding their experiences. I think their program is really good for the assisted living part in regard to keeping the residents focused and involved. They have a great program, and I like their meal plans, too. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions. She even brought up things that I didn't realize I needed to ask or know about because it was my first time there. She was very personable. She got back to me when I needed to talk to her, and so I was very impressed with her. I saw their meal plan, and their kitchen looked very clean. The whole eating area was very nice and well laid out for everyone. Everything was very nice and neat and clean.

I toured Devonshire Retirement Village. I didn't like it as soon as I walked in. Everybody sitting there was either in a walker or in a wheelchair, which I understand is why it happens. There are eight people there and that's the only place they have. I thought they were waiting to go somewhere and they said, no, that's their gathering space. Their apartments overall were very nice. It's just that when you walk out of the apartment there is no place to go. It was just that little tiny room. There was one lady who said to me "I wish you'd move inside to play a game with someone." If there are 24 people there and there's nobody to play a game with, that doesn't sound really promising because I like to play cards, dominoes, and whatever. Hailey did a great job and she tried to sell her place. She was very nice, friendly, and sincere. She spoke of her place with pride. I thought she did a really nice job. Their food looks good, too, but the biggest complaint I got from a few of their tenants was that they didn't like that their big meal was at noon and they didn't like that. They would have preferred dinner in the evening. It's an older building. it's decorated differently, but everything was clean.

I went to Devonshire Retirement Village. It's a very nice facility, but everything was a l a carte, which made it out of our price range. They were a lot smaller. They had lots of residents, which for my mom, like having some more people, was harder for her. So, some people might like smaller residences, some people don't. I like the larger setting. It's one floor, very clean, up to date. They have just one-room apartments that they're selling us.

I will try to be brief. The staff were amazing. The place is quite clean and tidy. I think the meals, what I, and other family members experienced, were a bit disappponting. The portions were small for someone that is a normal eater and according to my loved one, there wasnt a large variety. The activities that were/are available was extremely disappointing. If a person doesn't play cards or do jigsaw puzzles there was not a whole lot of other activities. 2 hours of Bingo is nice but boring. Sitting in a circle kicking a beach ball around is good but there needed to be more interaction by the staff to make it livelier. I think my loved one is not at the same place in her decline in mental health, so she wasnt able to interact with the other residents as much as we had hoped. I believe this is a fine facility, its just my loved one is not quite ready to be just sitting around and watching TV or playing Bingo. Or going to bed at 8pm because no one else is awake and there are no night time activities after dinner.

Caregivers are excellent and very responsive to family and residents. The activity department does a great job keeping the residents involved and creating new events to keep them busy. I have always felt that my mom is safe and well cared for day in and day out at Devonshire.

Devonshire Retirement Village may have been our second choice, except it was a little farther away. It had more of a homelike atmosphere as opposed to some of them having more of a hotel-type setup. This was more homey. It was very nice. They were very helpful. Their menu was quite extensive and they would cater to the dietary needs of the residents.

Devonshire Retirement Village was another one that was in the top 3. It was nice. It was quaint. They're a little more one-on-one. The staff-to-resident ratio was very good, much better than any of the other facilities in terms of the staffing ratio. It's very well-staffed and better staffed than any of the other ones I visited, so that was nice. And there's a lot of nice walking paths around there, and it was nice with that. And the staff were very nice people as well. Beyond the walking path around the building, they didn't have much above that. They didn't have too many super special amenities, but there are a lot of nice walking paths around the facility. Most of these did not have that, so that was one of the very new amenities, but beyond that, nothing beyond in terms of something unique. The rooms were standard. Nothing sets them apart.

I toured Devonshire Retirement Village. I liked the apartments. They were nice. There was something in the pricing that I didn't like. I can't remember what it was, but the rent was like $2000 a month, and then there was something added on that didn't make much sense to me. It was a significant amount. It was a very nice property. They had meals. The staff gave me a pretty extensive tour. They had garages. The dining area was very nice. The menu looked appetizing. I didn't try the food, but it looked to be a pretty good balanced meal. The person who assisted me with the tour was very helpful and very nice. The place was very neat and very clean. However, I wasn't really happy with the pricing.

We recently moved my mom into Devonshire. All of us were amazed at the size and condition of her apartment. She absolutely loves it. Her view of the golf course is the “cherry on top”! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. She likes the smaller community too. It fits her personality and helps her connect better. The staff is very accessible and accommodating. We would highly recommend Devonshire to others.

My good friend has lived in memory care for 3 years. I often visit and every time I am at Devonshire all of the staff goes above and beyond to make sure both of us are satisfied. They set up private meals, have personalized activities and keep it so clean that it feels like home every visit. I wish every Memory Care was as well kept up as Devonshire.

My mother will be moving into Devonshire Retirement Village. She just felt comfortable there. Also, she has several friends that used to be her neighbors that are also there. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and answered all our questions. Some of the residents there that we ran across were very friendly and my mother liked that. They talked to her. The apartment was larger than a lot of the others that we had looked at and very accommodating. We were looking at the calendar that they had for June and they seemed to have a lot of activities that my mother would probably participate in.

We liked Devonshire Retirement Village. It was a very nice place and a very nice area. We just can't afford it. Everybody seemed friendly. The grounds were well kept. It's a beautiful setting, and the apartments were nice and large. The person during the tour was knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding. I looked at the menu. It was all fresh homemade food.

I toured Devonshire Retirement Village. It was a great place. It all looked brand new. The upkeep was great. The staff was very nice and very educated about her job. She did a really good job. They had a beauty salon. The apartment was very nice. It was just the right size, and it had good lighting.

Devonshire Retirement Village has two types of rooms. They have a smaller one and then a larger one that has a dining area, a small kitchenette, and a separate bedroom off of the main living areas. It was nice and they allow some pets as long as you can take care of them. I met a lot of the staff and they were extremely friendly. It's not a very large facility, but it's got all the amenities. They have a calendar of events (that includes puzzles) and a nice centrally located dining facility. They provide you with three meals a day and snacks whenever you want. The day I did the tour, actually one of my wife's aunts was moving in there and she enjoys the meal.

Our Mother absolutely enjoyed all what Devonshire Independent Living had to offer. It was just the right balance of keeping busy with activities and yet keeping your independence of your own schedule. The staff looks after all the residents with their professional, yet personal touch. Mom's quality of life was certainly extended once she made the move to Devonshire. It is definitely a safe, personalized and fulfilling environment.

Realizing that a family member needs 24-hour care is very difficult to cope with. I consider myself very fortunate to have made only one phone call to Devonshire Retirement Village and all of my questions were answered, and a plan was made. We took a tour of the Devonshire Lapeer location and we’re impressed with how clean and beautifully decorated everything was. It is like being in a luxury hotel, not at all like a “nursing home” or “group home”environment. Each resident has their own room and a private bathroom mimicking apartment living. I cannot say enough about how great the staff is. They truly do care for the residents as if they are family. They have daily activities such as exercise class, arts and crafts, trivia and other games to participate in. Recently they took a fishing trip and had a car show on the premises! I’m very grateful to have found Devonshire Retirement Village, My family and I can rest assured that my Dad is taking his medications, eating regularly and is being kept safe at all times. I highly recommend calling Devonshire if you find yourself in a situation like ours. The assistance and compassion we have received has made this transition a lot easier to manage.

My family and I have recently relocated my Father with Alzheimer’s to Devonshire and we wish we took him there first! My father has been at a fancy and expensive place in Rochester for the last year and a half, that did not provide him much love and care. The place looks first class but the high turnover of staff and lack there of attention for his care made us make the decision to look for somewhere better. We have found somewhere better and that is Devonshire in Lapeer! The love, the care and the at home feel Devonshire offers is unmatched. It’s truly a hidden gem of a facility as all of the new “Big Box” style care facilities continue to pop up in the surrounding area. The staff feels like family and you don’t feel like you’re an inconvenience when visiting and they are not playing on their phone like other facilities seem to reveal. The living spaces, dining areas, activity area and bedrooms are all well taken care of and the food is delicious too. We’d highly recommend for families in need of care for their loved one to look at Devonshire in Lapeer and not waste your time and money on the “fancy and lack care” places that are around. Your loved one will be happy you picked Devonshire for them.

From the first phone call to Colleen to the moving in process , everyone at Devonshire is phenomenal! My mom is very happy with her new home. She has made new friends, enjoys the entertainment and activities and her daily gatherings for lunch. She is close to town to go shopping or to her appointments. My heart is happy seeing my mom smile again after being sad for so long due to the passing of my dad. I can't thank Devonshire enough for their kind hearts!

Jeff was at another facility in Rochester that appeared new and beautiful. But it lacked a caring and compassionate staff. With Alzheimer’s it’s hard to tell how your loved one is really doing, but within the first hour we could see how happy Jeff was at Devonshire. Since he’s only 67, he’s extremely active and the staff has been fabulous in keeping him busy. He loved the car show, and he’s looking forward to going fishing. So happy we made the move!!!!

Very clean environment. Rooms are spacious and comfortable for the residents. Residents are able to bring their own personal items and furniture, even hang their own pictures, so it feels like home. Staff is very supportive and helpful with the residents. Staff encourages the residents to stay as active as possible. They celebrate residents birthdays, and every holiday, even decorating for the holidays to make it festive. Activities range from arts and crafts, to exercise, games, cards, puzzles, you name it. Residents always have something to do, if they want. My mom has been a resident in assisted living at Devonshire going on 6 years. It has been a blessing to have this facility available for us and my mom. My moms main complaint is she misses her home cooking and Italian food.

Devonshire Retirement Village looked very Ritz-y and very elite. Unless you're accustomed that living, you would not feel comfortable there. It's very beautiful, and the rooms are very nice too. The person who gave us the tour was good. She knew everything that we needed to know. Nobody was doing anything. Most of them were in their rooms or watching TV. They had a garden area and a patio they can go out on and sit. They had what they called the neighborhoods. They had each level of living with a neighborhood, and each neighborhood had their own dining room table that they could sit at and their own little kitchenette type thing, where they could get water and juice. They had their own little sitting room also.

We chose Devonshire Retirement Village for my mother because of its proximity to where I live. We moved her to independent living recently. The staff is very courteous and the meals are prompt. My mother enjoys it there. She also says the food is good. The place is well-kept, the lawn is mowed, and the buildings are clean. We're getting what we pay for. They offer meals and they have a nurse practitioner that comes once a week to visit the people there in their apartments.

My mother has been in Devonshire 3 different times! She was there twice for respite care, prior to permanent assisted living. Each time, her experience was excellent! Devonshire provides care combined with kindness in a family setting! The happiness of the residents reflect the atmosphere at Devonshire! The rooms are clean and well designed allowing for each resident to add their personal belongings. This creates a “safe haven” and the feeling of home . The staff shows genuine concern and care for each resident. It’s not unusual to hear staff members engaged in friendly and caring conversations reflecting a family atmosphere! The residents can look forward to daily activities with a variety of choices! They can start he day with exercise and choose to participate in various games and enrichment oriented activities. Devonshire is truly a small village of seniors making choices in their daily living. It is what creates a sense of well being and happiness !

The staff at Devinshire has been absolutely amazing. They go out of their way to try to make sure that my wife is included in the activities there are held. In addition, they try everything under the sun to get my wife to eat when that is the last thing that she wants to do. They bring in Nutribullet blender‘s from home to make her smoothies to try to get her to consume some nourishment. They are absolutely terrific.

It is a small, homey residence. It wasn't overwhelming. The small areas allow caregivers to see, observe and care for their residents. The caregivers have all become a part of my Mom's family. I have complete faith that they are caring for not only her physical needs but her mental and emotional well-being. The availability of medical care, hair care and exercise is a real plus.

Devonshire is a wonderful place! Everyone there is amazing. Caring and considerate. They treat all the residents like family . It’s clean and the rooms are beautiful. All during Covid the administration did a fabulous job of making sure all the residents were safe and healthy. There are loads of activities and special events for the residents. They even have a hairdresser that comes in!! They take wonderful care of my Aunt and I am grateful.

The entire Devonshire Independent Living Community has just the right amount of room, activities and amenities that fit into what our Mother really enjoys. She maintains her independence yet with an exceptional degree of security knowing there is a high quality of interactions with staff to watch and keep everyone safe. You can do alot of activities or just the right amount to keep you engaged. The elite team of housekeeping, dining services, activities, maintenance and management all seem to work together in bringing a high quality experience for all who are in this life's journey together

Devonshire Senior Living takes such good care of my mother. They make sure she is eating & drinking plenty of water. They are so kind & patient with her. She is kept clean and they encourage her to keep moving as much as she is capable of. The staff is very friendly and answers any questions I have. The food they prepare & serve is very good. My mom's apartment is good sized and kept clean for her. I have been so pleased with her care and haven't worried about her while living there, especially during Covid times.

My mother has been in the Devonshire community for over 3 years now; starting in Independent Living, moving to Assisted Living, and now Memory Care. I live out of state and have been overwhelmed with how well the leadership and staff know my mom and have been instrumental in observing her behaviors that led to each of these moves. The Memory Care rooms are homey and just the right size to not overwhelm a person living with dementia. Staff are friendly and always around when I visit. Residents are kept busy with a variety of activities geared toward their age and stage of memory loss.

We looked at the independent and assisted living of Devonshire Retirement Village. It was very nice and very well kept. I was impressed with it. It was a little more expensive, but it was nice. The staff was very nice and very thorough. The rooms were very nice. They had different sizes to choose from. They were nice and spacious. I never tried their food, but I looked at the menu. It looked pretty good, and they would give alternatives if there was something you don't like. They had exercise classes, which was nice. They were playing a game while we were there. They had a small outside space. They're just very helpful, and they have a very nice and well-organized place.

My father-in-law picked Devonshire Retirement Village because it was the area he wanted. He's independent with some meals. Everything has been fine. His apartment is wonderful, all fresh and clean, painted with new carpet, etc. Because of COVID, they're not doing the activities, but he's as active as can be. I didn't taste the food, but he loves it. He said the meals are really good. The price is comparable to other places. If he didn't like the location, we could've gotten something that was a little cheaper, but that's not what he wanted, so we went with a little more expensive to get the location.

Devonshire Retirement Village was a little more expensive than other facilites. I saw a private room and they had all the facilities needed. They had activities. They want a $2,000 deposit just to accept the facilities, which was not refundable.

The tour at Devonshire was very good. We like the staff; they were friendly and knowledgeable. They have private rooms, bathrooms, and lots of activities. It was a good choice, but I was hoping for a lesser price, and I was hoping for closer to the house. The grounds were nice and appropriate.

We visited Devonshire for my mother. It seemed a really nice place, but they didn't have a definitive cost. They reevaluate the cost every few weeks, and the more care a person took, they kept raising the price, so they didn't have a set price. It was like there was no limit to how much it could cost. Nevertheless, it was a well-taken-care-of place. It didn't look like a nursing home; it looked like a nice hotel.

Devonshire was top-notch. It was first-class and one of the best in the area. It is really nice but also true expensive. It's a 1-bedroom, and I would only have one meal included. But that came to $4,000, and my income is $2,000 a month. The staff was excellent. They provide excellent activities, and they have an activity director. So they play games, they have a piano, and a piano player at times. They have all kinds of activities, like chair exercises. They could lower their rates, so they can be more affordable for people with lower incomes.
