"Rose Senior Living - Clinton Township was a very nice community. My sister's mother-in-law was there, and I got to visit there quite a bit. She loved it. I was very impressed with that. I think they keep it up real good. The staff was good, too. She played bingo about 3 or 4 times a week and that's one of the things I was looking at when I was viewing senior living places. Not only bingo but even a place to have conversations or socialize with people. My sister's mother-in-law was out all the time there. We could barely see where she was at because she was socializing."

"The staff was so friendly and helpful during the search & move-in process. They answered my countless questions, and has so much patience with my grandparents as they navigated this change. They are very responsive, and maintain the building so well for the residents. Now that my grandparents are all settled, we are so happy with the facility, staff and all of the amenities!"

"My mother moved into American House. They're very friendly, everything is up to code, it's beautiful, and my mother is very happy with it. She has a 2-bedroom on the first floor, it's huge, and she loves it. They have Bingo, a pool table, puzzles, exercise, a TV downstairs in the living room, and they love to watch the ballgame. The have a gazebo right outside her room, people go out there in the evening, and it's really nice. They have a bus that takes them shopping, to doctors' offices, and to the bank. The hallways were just redone. They just put a breakfast bar in the dining room, and in the entryway, they've got a place for coffee, drinks, cereal, and pastries 24 hours a day. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and everybody seemed to know the residents by name. It's right next to a Meijer's shopping center."

"I toured American House Sterling Heights. It didn't seem as busy or active as the other facility, but it was a nice, clean, and friendly environment. I met only one other staff member besides the manager there, but they were friendly and nice. The setup didn't kind of feel that one too much."

"The thing I like best about American House Sterling Woods is the people. Everyone here is so nice, the staff and residents. I'm a picky eater, and I'm on a special diet, I'm supposed to have low salt and things like that, so the food is good. I put my garbage outside and it seems like it's only out there for an hour or two and then it's picked up. Everything is clean. I can see them always vacuuming and wiping things down. Every night is a game night of some sort like bingo We took a trip to the casino last week. There are some religious activities. But I'm not a person who likes a lot of activities. I like being by myself, I like reading, and I like doing jigsaw puzzles and things like that. I love my room though. It's 900 square feet, but it feels a lot larger. It's very well put together."

"I toured American House East I. I was impressed, and it was more impressive than the other 2 places I went to. I'm still waiting for an opening there. When I drove up, it looked like a very nice campus. The buildings were spread around, the lawns were mowed. There wasn't a lot of commotion outside or anything, so The outside looked good. And then when I went on the inside, it was huge inside, different places like a gym, and a dining room. The staff was excellent, a professional lady, worked with me very well, and she's very impressive. There are a lot of activities going around. I just wish I was living there right now so I can get involved and all that. They put the groups together and they talked about different things about aging, or they talked about exercises to do, to make you feel better."

"I went to American House East I. I liked everything about it. It was quiet. It was very clean. The people were friendly. When I went in, the seniors there were very friendly, and it made you feel comfortable when you walked through the door. I didn't know exactly where I was going and they assisted like, hey, go around there, see such and such and everything. So that right there walking through the door helped me feel a little more comfortable. In the quarters themselves, the living quarters, I went in, they were very clean. It was nice and spacious, exactly what a person would want. The first place I went, the person was wonderful. And the second place I went, the person was wonderful. She took me all through and showed me everything. They were very thorough in their job and they explained and answered my questions and shared things about the facility that I would need to know if I were to move in. So they were excellent in both locations. I was very, very, very impressed. It was very clean. That's the first thing that I recognized going in. I was looking around. It was very, very clean and each building was very clean. The first building was extremely clean."

"I visited American House East II for my mom. It's for enhanced independent living. They serve the residents three meals a day, and they have daily housekeeping daily. They all have walk-in tubs, which is something she really needed. She liked the facilities and the other services that they have to offer if needed. The staff members who assisted me during the tour were very nice and very friendly. They answered the questions that my mom had, and they showed her three different apartments that were available."

"Lockwood of Clinton had very nice people. They had a chef who cooked lunch, dinner, and breakfast. They had a lot of people and a lot of things to do. They made license plates for their walkers. It seemed everybody was enjoying themselves. People were very nice, and they seemed happy. They played cards all the time, and they went on trips. Meals would cost you extra to have those. However, somebody comes in and cleans your place once a week. There's a washer and dryer in every apartment. The person who took care of recreation was very nice, too. They had things to do, so that was what I was looking for. The staff was very pleasant, and she seemed to know everybody there. She was very friendly. The facility was spotless. I thought it was very, very nice. The apartments were nice, too. They're a decent size. I thought it was great for what I was looking for."

"I visited Windemere Park Warren's assisted living for my mom. It is a remodeled hotel, so it's a little less bright. However, they also have very large open-air spaces, including a koi pond, a pool, and activity areas. I don't think it's as modern or updated as the others I've visited, but it's fine. I would say the rooms are probably standard, they were decent-sized. The staff members were very knowledgeable about the area. One thing I'm looking for is a combination of assisted and memory care for when my mom would go from needing assisted living to memory care. That was an important reason that I went to Windermere, and they were very clear about answering all my questions about that. They gave me a very nice tour and even took me to memory care so I could see that as well."

"My brother is in Town Village Sterling Heights. It's really good for him. They're very kind, helpful, and very understanding. I think he'll be fine there. Every day, there are activities. There is exercising and water aerobics. They take them out on field trips. They're real good. He's independent with assisted living. The activities are excellent. The food is awesome. We did go to a lot of places, and this was the best fit. They have a bistro there, and he can get food any time of the day. They also have restaurant style dining, so it's really good. We're very pleased. They have a library, a theater, a room where they can watch sports, a puzzle area, and a room for birthday parties. They have musicians coming in, and they have an outside area to go and sit. It's pretty well equipped."

"The people at Pine Ridge Villas of Shelby are friendly. The manager is friendly, too. Everyone works together and makes sure that everyone is taken care of. It's a good atmosphere, and the people are caring. My room is a little small, and there is not enough storage for my things. I came from a big house, so it's a challenge. The food is very good, though. The activities they have are day trips, games, exercise, get-togethers, bingo, and parties. It's the best place that I have seen."
