I loved American House Sterling Woods, and it was beautiful. My in-person visit was excellent. The tour guide was very pleasant and engaging as a person. I met several of the staff. I saw several residents, and I talked to a few. The apartments that the staff showed me were fabulous. I could move in tomorrow if that was what I wanted to do. It was beautifully clean and spacious. Their dining area looked adequate. The one thing I liked was that it showed me how small the group of people who live there is. The staff told me they're redoing the exercise room and going to have updated machines in there.

We toured American House Sterling Woods. The only thing about it was we ran into some hidden fees that I didn't care for, and they weren't very caring when we tried to get help about it. They had a salon, a movie theater, and a rehab facility. The staff wasn't very warm to my mother. The food wasn't of very good quality, and there wasn't a very good selection of food. It was located near restaurants, and there was a grocery store near it.

My aunt was at American House Sterling Woods for two years. It was for assisted living, but a medical team was also added there. They did med administration and that sort of thing. Their food was good. They had a good nutrition program, but everything was a la carte. I also had trouble with the medical end of it. They didn't keep good track of her med distribution. For activities, they had the same thing. They had movie night, trivia, bingo, games, and stuff, but they don't keep you engaged. They don't come and get you, and they don't ask you if you want to do it. So, it's not good for people who have memory issues because they don't remember to go down. And they don't have staff there that will go in there and say, 'Hey, we're about to play bingo, anybody wants to come?' They don't do that. It's just you're on your own to do what you want. My aunt's apartment was nice. It was a one-bedroom apartment. It was a decent size for being in a facility like that. The place was clean, they kept it up, and it was very nice inside.

Mom moved into American House Sterling Woods. First of all, it's pretty homey and the price is right. It's lower than the last place she was at, and the people are very nice. The staff and the residents are very nice. I have a little bit of an issue with the med team, but they're way better now. At this point, they're doing a really good job. But in the beginning, it was tough for us because the meds hadn't come in and all that. So it wasn't their fault. It was just a matter of getting the correct medications from the last home. But overall it's great. They have kitchens. The food is ok. They have all kinds of activities, and they have a salon for hair and a movie theater. They have everything.

American House was fine. Lorraine was very helpful. She took me up to the second floor to look at the apartment, and she explained everything to me. She was very informative and friendly. The facility was OK, but they didn't have good access to parking. I had to walk quite a distance to get to the building where I had to park. It is so congested and they didn't have enough space to park over there. Luckily, I'm not handicapped, I can walk OK, but the layout seemed fine, and the apartment looked nice.

My parents moved to American House Sterling Woods. It's very good, clean, and the service is great. It's just a nice place overall. It's the best place I went to. They're very friendly, they make you feel welcomed, and it's just a nice environment. The food was really good, it was tasty, presented very well, and it was seasoned very well. I could actually live there. My parents are getting what we're paying, so that's very good.

American House Sterling Woods was very nice, the facility was very up-to-date, and they had a chapel there, which I thought was very nice because my mom is Catholic. There's a chapel there where she could have service once a month. The residents do rosary readings amongst themselves, so I think that's something nice for her because she is spiritual and that's kind of a benefit for her that she may take interest in. Maureen, the one who I spoke with over the phone and met in person, was actually fantastic and very informative. She actually offered additional services if need be, like a moving company. If you're bringing extra stuff with you, this moving company can assist you. I thought that was kind of beneficial. Not only is she about American House, she also provided insights with other amenities that could potentially be beneficial to us. They also have a place in the facility where my mom would have space. If she would want to bring some Christmas decorations to decorate for the holidays and it's seasonal, she could keep it in her personal locker area with her personal belongings. It wasn't much, but enough that it would not overdo the apartment and enough that she could have it with her in this locker room area. The place was very nice and very clean. The time that we were there, there weren't any residents there, so I didn't see any interactions with the residents, but the staff seemed really friendly. The cleaning people walking by, the receptionist, and Maureen who showed us around were very pleasant, warm, and welcoming.

My uncle has moved into American House Sterling Woods. I like the staff. They're very friendly, very helpful, and very caring. The accommodations are nice, clean and updated. The location is excellent. It's near my house and near regular shopping. They have an onsite nursing staff, which is very helpful. The facility is very clean. The food is good; it's not the greatest, but it's not like eating hospital food.
