I can’t say enough about the exceptional care both my mother, and local sister, experienced while mom was at Sterling Elder Care. Mom had been at a couple natl chain facilities and suffered scary falls. What a difference we noticed immediately once she was here! Every staff member was very attentive. Her well being was constantly monitored AND communicated to my sister—giving us such peace of mind. She was treated like a member of their own family. Mom loved the food! At Sterling she was able to gain back some needed weight, plus heal from those previous falls. The caregivers here really go the extra mile. I can’t recommend them enough.

The moment I toured this group home I immediately knew this is where I wanted my mother to be cared for. I felt an instant connection and genuine warmth when I met with Christie and put a deposit down for her room that same day. Mom had a beautiful cozy room with her own tv and wardrobe for her clothes. I could tell all of the residents were being well taken care of by the staff. I saw the staff in action and thought I need to secure this room for my mom before somebody else snaps it up. They served wonderful and nutritious meals, drinks, snacks and dessert. It was a very calm and peaceful environment with two separate areas for the residents to watch TV. Super clean, tidy and organized. I would receive updates via text or phone call almost daily and felt like I could reach out anytime for an update on how she was doing along with beautiful pictures of her. The staff welcomed my husband and I when we visited and were also given delicious meals to eat with mom. We were also included to celebrate another resident’s birthday on a Sunday with appetizers, spaghetti dinner, pizza and lovely birthday cake and ice cream. Abner also sang karaoke and a nice time was had by all. He even sang “Oh Carol’ for my mom even though it wasn’t her birthday and it was very touching. I highly recommend Sterling Elder Care to anyone and I just wished I had known about them sooner! I can never thank them enough for all they did the short time mom was there under hospice care. I never once worried that she wasn’t being attended to like their own family. Our entire family will be forever grateful to Christie, Abner and the team. Thank you so much for everything you did for mom. Word cannot express our family’s gratitude for your kindness.

Sterling Elder Care was recommended by my mom's hospice nurse and it has been one of the best things that could have happened for her. My mom has her own bedroom with many of her favorite things around so it feels like her home. She is always clean and comfortable. Everyone on staff makes every effort to make sure she is well cared for and happy. The owners, Christie and Abner, always keep me updated on how my mom is doing. It is such a relief to know my mom is safe and well cared for by people who genuinely care.

You could not ask for a better staff to care for your loved one. My mother has been at this facility for over 2 years now and I could not be more pleased with every aspect of their care, communication and genuine caring for my mother. The burden of finding a place for mom has been lifted off of my shoulders. Christine and her whole staff are exceptional.

My husband has been at Sterling Elder Care for almost two months he is 88 years old and has dementia. He was quite angry before my daughter found this group home. He has settled in and is quite calm whenever we visit him. I can’t say enough about the caregivers at this facility. They are so kind and caring toward my husband. The hospice nurses have commented to me how caring the staff is. I feel so blessed to know my loved one is being so well taken care of. The home is well taken care of and his bedroom is clean and tidy. They have home cooked meals three times a day. I am kept up almost daily on how he is doing. He is clean and shaven and has a haircut when needed and a podiatrist if needed.

My mother has moved into Sterling Elder Care. It's excellent. They're super friendly people. They keep her as comfortable as they can and clean. I would recommend this place to other people. The facility is very clean, nice, comfortable, and feels homey. I've been very pleased. The food looked fine. It was lunch and they had soup, pudding, and some fruit. They do bingo with them and they interact with them quite a bit. They encourage families to come. One of the families has been there for a while and they bring in lunch once a week, and tomorrow for Easter, I'm bringing lunch in, too. They try to encourage family members to eat with them, once in a while. The cost is what the others cost, but much, much better, and it's still less than a nursing home. The price is fair. She just needs basic physical care. She needs more care being in a wheelchair now. She needs help with showering and getting in and out of bed and dressed.

My mother stayed at Sterling Elder Care. It was a beautiful group home, all accessible for handicapped or wheelchairs. The conditions were beautiful. There's plenty of room. My mom did have her own room and they assisted her with all her needs. The caregivers were just so helpful and friendly. The food was made by one of the staff members in the kitchen and it was the kind of food a senior would like, soup and sandwich for lunch. I wasn't really there for dinner or a whole lot, but my mom did enjoy the food. The dining room was kind of open. There were two bathrooms. One bathroom had a shower, and most of the time, there were only five residents. They had TVs. Most of the residents would be in one of the two living room areas. They either had some light activities for them or they looked at the TV. My mom was a writer, so they tried to help her write. There was a lady that just liked to read, and she would just look at pictures. Most of the residents relied on others for everything. Dementia was definitely prominent there. They had just children's books, photo albums, and blankets that had buttons and zippers on it. One lady loved to just fold clothes so they just had her fold T-shirts and she enjoyed doing that. That was during the winter so they really couldn't go outside on the patio or anything, but a lot of the residents just took long naps during the day. A lot of times, they were out in the activity area or the dining room. The staff was very caring. They are Filipinos and just wonderful as caregivers. Mom had hearing problems and she couldn't understand sometimes the accent, but we could. They're always eager to please. When the staff was busy with other residents, they sometimes didn't get the attention that they needed and that's understandable.

Christie, Alvin, Abner, Rusty, and Norma were the most wonderful caregivers we could ever hope for for our mother. I can't say enough about how much we appreciated knowing that our mother would be taken care of so well. It was such a comfort to be able to reach out and ask how everything was going on days when we couldn't be there. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

Sterling Elder Care has the most wonderful, loving people running the house. The house is clean and well run. Communication with the family is exceptional. Can't say enough good things about the people who work there, they are top notch! Mom is in good hands and the family is grateful for the angles that take care of her at Sterling Elder Care.

I never knew a group home existed for memory care patients! I toured a few before deciding on this one for my dad. I’m so happy with my decision. My father has lived here for 1 full year now. The care he is receiving is excellent. He is unable to do anything for himself. He cannot even feed himself. The home is owned by a married couple who are both nurses. At least one of them is at the home daily. Not only do they supervise the care but they participate in it as well. My father is at the end of his life and i am happy to say that he will transition with dignity because of the care he is receiving here. There are activities for those clients who are able to participate.- arts/crafts/puzzles etc.My father is past that point (although he perks up when one of the caregivers sings karaoke!) The food is home cooked and clients are assisted with eating as much as needed. The house is always clean and tidy.

My mother lives in Sterling Elder Care. She was in there the year before the pandemic, then the pandemic the last two years, and she's still there now. It's an adult foster care home facility. They are the most incredible and they give her the most incredible care. My mother basically can do nothing for herself anymore. She's very atrophied. It's run by and owned by a married couple. They're both nurses (the husband and wife). The wife really runs the business and she's there every day. She keeps incredible medical records for issues (like my mom had always certain health issues that need to be addressed). She keeps really on top of that. My mom was put under hospice care a couple of years ago because she stopped swallowing. She would pocket her food and the owner recommended this hospice that she has worked with and they've been fabulous. They are just incredible. They turn her every two hours at night, so she doesn't get bedsores. I sleep at night because she's under their care. I can't say enough about them. There are only six people in the house, and that's all the house will hold. When we go to visit, they make sure she is up. The owner's mom lives there. She's a Filipino lady and she will do my mom's hair and nails and put lipstick on her. She's like a visitor. It's unbelievable. They're just very kind, caring, and gentle people. I've recommended them to other friends and had family members that have gone there. There's just nothing I can say that's bad about this place. Even through the pandemic, the owner knew how important it was for people to see them. We could only visit through the window and my mom started crying one time when I went to leave. The owner said, "Let's meet at the backdoor." I always brought coffee to share with my mom and I would sit and have coffee and cookies with her. I brought that to the front door, gave it to them, went around to the back, and sat in the back. They brought my mom to the window, and then the caregiver took his phone and called me so that my mom could hear me through the window. It was like we're sitting there having cookies and coffee, like normal, but there was just a window between us. My mom was very, very content with that. When I went to leave, it was just like normal. It's almost like we're sitting in the same room with her instead of looking at her through a living room window. That's one of the accommodations that they will do for you. They're always trying to keep these people happy and their families. They're wonderful, very sweet, very kind, gentle, and caring people. Through all this pandemic, it's been awesome. They just go above and beyond, how they treat the families and the concerns. It's like you're a family with them, not just a business. It's not like you just moved your mom in this nursing home or something. Every year, the owner likes to do a review with me and find out if I have any concerns, if there's anything I've been unhappy about. She's very concerned that her business is going well and the people are being treated well and the families are happy. I just feel it in my heart. It's a beautiful place. I think they bought this house and gutted it. It has an outdoor patio. It's very spacious. The rooms are very nice. There are places where you can go to visit and that you can meet privately. There's a great big living room, dining room, and another little family room off the kitchen. You can meet on the patio. They'll take her outside if I wanted to be outside. You can go in her room if you wanted to do that. They're very accommodating with whatever you want. Value for money is excellent. It's private pay, but I'd like to move in there. They do your laundry, and they do all your cooking. It's like living at the spa. It's very, very reasonable. The owner's mom does all the cooking. It's all homecooked and healthy and whatever the people need.
