"I toured American House Sterling Heights. It didn't seem as busy or active as the other facility, but it was a nice, clean, and friendly environment. I met only one other staff member besides the manager there, but they were friendly and nice. The setup didn't kind of feel that one too much."

"The thing I like best about American House Sterling Woods is the people. Everyone here is so nice, the staff and residents. I'm a picky eater, and I'm on a special diet, I'm supposed to have low salt and things like that, so the food is good. I put my garbage outside and it seems like it's only out there for an hour or two and then it's picked up. Everything is clean. I can see them always vacuuming and wiping things down. Every night is a game night of some sort like bingo We took a trip to the casino last week. There are some religious activities. But I'm not a person who likes a lot of activities. I like being by myself, I like reading, and I like doing jigsaw puzzles and things like that. I love my room though. It's 900 square feet, but it feels a lot larger. It's very well put together."

"I toured American House East I. I was impressed, and it was more impressive than the other 2 places I went to. I'm still waiting for an opening there. When I drove up, it looked like a very nice campus. The buildings were spread around, the lawns were mowed. There wasn't a lot of commotion outside or anything, so The outside looked good. And then when I went on the inside, it was huge inside, different places like a gym, and a dining room. The staff was excellent, a professional lady, worked with me very well, and she's very impressive. There are a lot of activities going around. I just wish I was living there right now so I can get involved and all that. They put the groups together and they talked about different things about aging, or they talked about exercises to do, to make you feel better."

"I like the staff at American House Troy. They're nice to my mother and us as a family. They are very courteous and concerned. The rooms are nice and big enough for a walker or a wheelchair. Cleanliness is really good. The food delivery is good. The meals appear to be very good, too, nutritionally based. The residents get a choice. Every day they can choose between one item or another item and my mother seemed to like the food there. They have a beauty salon and a dining room. They offer transportation if you want to go to a doctor's appointment or shopping trips if you want to go to a Myers. They have entertainment that they bring in. They have games and a little community area where a lot of residents can work jigsaw puzzles. They have a medical team on staff as well. Rent is kind of high, but overall considering the rent in other places and for what you get, it's way more."

"I visited American House East II for my mom. It's for enhanced independent living. They serve the residents three meals a day, and they have daily housekeeping daily. They all have walk-in tubs, which is something she really needed. She liked the facilities and the other services that they have to offer if needed. The staff members who assisted me during the tour were very nice and very friendly. They answered the questions that my mom had, and they showed her three different apartments that were available."

"My husband will move into Sun Valley Senior Living in a few days. It was very neat and clean. It was not a very large place. The people there were very nice. There was a barber shop and a little patio area. The woman that I was dealing with there, was very nice and very helpful."

"The care is excellent. Staff is very personable. It is a small group setting so everyone gets individual attention. There's a lot of joy in laughter in the house. Residents are usually one or two to a bedroom. Outings are planned for residents on a regular basis and birthdays and other holidays are celebrated well. They also manage medicine and doctor visits and provide visiting nurse services. It isrun by a beautiful family. "

"I toured Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods for my dad. If I was going into assisted living, this is where I would want to be. I really liked it there. I liked the atmosphere, and the people were very nice. The best touch for me was the dog and the cat; only because that feels like home to people. I think it was small enough, and I know he would get the care that he needs there. I thoroughly enjoyed being there. The room setups were great. There isn't anything bad I can say about the place. I would want to be there if it was me. The staff member was fantastic; she answered every question that I had. We went on a tour. She gave me a folder with information that I could refer to, which is going to be very, very helpful; there was a checklist. She gave me pricing, and we went through just about everything. If I could have moved in, I would have moved him in yesterday. I didn't try any food there, but there were residents there that were sitting at the tables, and they had just gotten done with lunch. They all seemed to be very nice. They were very clean. I didn't see anything out of out of the ordinary that I would have any concerns about. I liked their hominess, I guess it would feel like home being there. There was just a small courtyard off the back. I think there was one upstairs as well, but I didn't go up there; I just saw it from when I drove through. If anybody wants to go outside, there are places to be on an enclosed porch. There were two open porches in the front of the building, and then there was an enclosed flower garden in the back; it was very nice."

"I went here. This was a high-class place. When you walked in, it was elegant. That was like the regular assisted living and such, and then you went into the memory care part, and it was the same as the assisted living with the same set-up building. It was clean, cheerful, and elegant. The staff were very nice. They seemed very attentive. They were great. They seemed to have activities going on, and they're right next to a dog park, which for my mother would interest her. If she couldn't be at the dog park, she would be able to watch the people and their dogs, which is equally as enjoyable. They had it all. They had the gym. They had a nice courtyard. They do activities with them. They've got a weekly sheet of what they do every day, and it seemed to be pretty active. In terms of location, for me, I live in Troy, so it's close. It's a very lively area."
