"My mother lives at St. Anne's where she is receiving excellent care by very gentle and caring employees! The atmosphere is great as is the food. For lunch one day during my visit, the residents were served a small wonderful and tasty salad, turkey ala king, roll with butter, and the coffee was excellent. So many activities are scheduled for the dementia unit where my mother is residing. She has had therapy, haircut, manicure, pedicure, arts and crafts, and strolls around the property where we saw a deer! The landscaping is beautiful and many residents have bird feeders outside their windows. In a month, she will be scheduled for a dental exam and eye exam. I had an excellent gut feeling on my first visit, and continue to be very pleased with the care my 91-year old mother is receiving. There are conferences every 3 months with the head nurse, social worker, dietician, life enrichment supervisor and therapist. All questions that you may have are thoughtfully answered. "

"I toured Regency At Troy. The main level is for rehab like surgeries and things like that, so it's more PT and OT, and that area was excellent. The woman who ran it was fantastic. She was open and honest. Then when I went upstairs to where my friend would be, the facility was beautiful, but there was nobody there. There was one resident there who had dementia in that big living room by herself speaking out. It was horrible. So, a beautiful facility, and there were 2 or 3 people at the desk that did nothing. I walked through the whole place and I didn't see anybody else. It was very expensive, and I was not impressed by what would be for my friend. For someone who was rehabbing after surgery, that part of the facility appeared to be wonderful. It was very sterile. It's more like a hospital environment."

She shows each of her residence that she cares and by keeping their spirits high with all of her wonderful activities. There is no gloom and doom at this facilities. Just love and compassion. Thanks to Cookie for a job of love and human compassion that we rarely see these days."

"This is my Mother's second visit to Notting Hill. This current visit is much more serious, as we are dealing with an open wound, and a new diagnosis of cancer. We as a family are making decisions for her feature. During this time she is in a safe environment being well cared for She is getting stronger with a physical therapy department that cares for her progress., This care starts at the front door. An employee at the front desk named Margaret helped me take care of not one but 2 small issues I was experiencing. She really didn't;t have to, as I am sure it is not part of her job duties. She took it upon on herself to take action and go to the proper people to get the job done. I am grateful you have people like her working at Notting Hill. I hope that Margaret is recognized for her dedication to the patients, Most importantly being a wonderful human being. "

"I was a patient at Boulevard Health Center for Rehab. My physician, nursing, and therapy department were friendly and courteous. Nursing staff was responsive to my concerns and needs. The food was very good, I was always able to substitute if the daily menu didn't appeal to me. I am satisfied with the care I received and without a doubt would recommend Boulevard Health Center to anyone who will require therapy. "

"My sister is in Cambridge Healthcare Center for a rehab. She has been there for three months now. This facility is about 5 miles away from my residence. She has a small room with another patient. It was so small that I get claustrophobic in there. There are two dining areas in this facility. The smaller one is downstairs while the bigger one is upstairs. The one upstair is very nice and they use it for activities. They do have activities there but my sister didn't really get involved with any of them. They would do some stuff and once in a while, they would go outside in their big courtyard. The staff is very good. They seem to be nice and friendly. They did overall a good job for my sister. She is doing fine there. "

"I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I visited my grandmother several times during her stay and they always seemed very attentive. The facilities were clean, and our family took my grandmother outside several times to see clean, groomed areas for the inhabitants to get fresh air. They checked on her while still allowing us time to visit in privacy, and made sure visiting family members were comfortable. The entry areas were clean and the rooms (both for stay and for function) were well organized and neat. I spent some time in a community room playing with my own children when they got antsy, and a staff member took some time out to talk to them and myself, and make sure they were set. They knew who I was from my grandmother telling them we were coming, which I thought was personal and welcoming. I believe it was a great facility for my grandmother to spend time at. The staff was very helpful in her last moments, making sure all family members were notified to be there with her. "

"I'm speaking from my heart, understanding that my opinion has the possibility of influencing someone positive or negative. I'm basing my opinion on a comparison to a previous location. Westoaks is hands down the best choice. My brother is a long-term residence at Westoaks, and I've actually noticed the care from the new Administrator and staff has changed, better interaction with staff, more activities for residents to do. I believe that the best hasn't happen with the adjustments at WestOaks, I'm going to volunteer my time to make my brother stay better. The word says if you want friends, you have to show yourself friendly. The most important fact for me is, there's genuine concern for resolving issues rather than ignoring or sweeping them under the rug."

"My dad has dementia and Beaconshire Nursing Center has place there that takes care of people like my him. Everything is all good. If it wasn't good, I wouldn't have put him there. The staff is real nice. They have a movie night and it was the last activity I had been to. I haven't eaten there yet but the food that they cook looks real good. The only thing I have a problem with is that it's just so far from where I live but it's still okay. "

"This is very old facility no phones in the rooms. The staff sounds nice and when THEY want to can be helpful but if it’s a bad day for them and they decide that you have called to much, because your love one is having some problems, then they conveniently don’t answer the phone. When you do get someone on they phone you may or may not speak to your family members nurse. Something so simple as to speak to your 79 year old father who, in my minds eye may be in distress, becomes a problem. I tried several times and for several hours to HAVE to tell the staff nurse that if they don’t put my father on the phone right now I had only one last option and that was to call the police and 911. That is now desperate I got. All I wanted to do was hear my father’s voice! Why all this resistance was very concerning that is why I said what I said about the police and 911. After my 5 hour ordeal once I heard my father’s voice and could hear from him he was ok, I was fine. Was that really to much to ask for? REALLY! The “SECOND” floor nursing needed to GREATLY improve!"
