There is so much available socialization that I could not provide my parents with if they lived in my home. There's everything from independent living to memory care. In-house doctor visits and PT. Everything about this place is top-notch: the food, cleanliness, caring staff, activities and outings. My parents are 94 and 91 and are in the greatest of hands!"

"We liked Lockwood of South Lyon because of its location, the apartment size, and its layout. The room that we're going to have will be large enough, under 1,000 square feet, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, so it's very spacious. The staff was very good. The dining area looked very nice. They have a beauty salon, a library, local transportation, and health care services available if you need to contract for them."

They’ve always had great programs, but especially during Covid they’ve been so creative! They do something fun for the residents every day! They knock in their doors, always with a treat and a smile. "I kind of liked American House Westland Joy Senior Living. The rooms were nice and clean. The whole place was very nice. They had an exercise room and activities like shopping, outings, and church. I saw a one-bedroom unit that was clean, spacious, nice, and well kept. "

"We went to Ashford Court. It was a one level nice lobby area. We did see more people out and about, and that one which was welcoming, more people in the dining room, and it could have just been the time of day that we were there. The gentleman that showed us around was very, very personable, and very nice, very informative. They have courtyards, small patio areas, some apartments didn't have access to do, and some did. I think everybody had access to it. It's just some apartments opened up onto the courtyards and patios."

"My mother was looking at a place close to the area, and we found American House. I saw there were interactions with some of the staff, like they were listening music and stuff. I noticed there were residents working on crossword puzzles, and some were playing cards in the lobby. "

"My father is doing great at Westhaven Manor. Everything has been great, and I have no issues. The staff is wonderful. He likes the food, and the place is very clean. If something is wrong, maintenance is always on time. Right now, they are not doing activities because of Covid, but as soon as that's over with, then they can start doing activities."

"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"The staff was very friendly and we were encouraged to visit our "loved one" as often as we could after our initial visit ended. The rooms and areas in general were very clean and the scenery outside and inside the facility was quite pleasant. My friends grandma personally told us that life at this nursing home was quite good. She suffers from extreme arthritis which prevents here from moving around freely so she is confined to a wheelchair for most of the day. She assured us that they took great care of her and that this facility was a great improvement over the previous one that she was placed at. She also told us the food was quite good but she complained that there aren't really enough staff members to assign proper time and care for every senior citizen at the facility. I gave this place four stars (which is quite good for a senior living home in my opinion!) because my friends grandma really enjoyed it but they really didn't give each senior enough time with staff to keep them company. "
