We are very happy with our mother's transition from living at her family home for 60 years to a very comfortable 2 room apartment at Independence Village. She enjoys her ground floor patio and the recent landscaping update was necessary and very nice. Chef Dan's meals are well prepared and enjoyable. Anything Leah prepares is excellent! Activity director, Aubrey, has proven to be innovative, energetic and competent. Mom especially enjoys evening bonfires, chair exercise, crossword, and trivia. General Manager Shereida is dedicated and a taskmaster. She has an exceptional work ethic. Since moving in 2 years ago, staff turnover has been an issue so we truly appreciate the current staff members that go above and beyond for our mother (Desiree, Karmen, and Julie!) According to our Mother, Independence Village of Waterford is good living and affordable!

When we chose this for my mother, I really enjoyed the rooms. It's lovely space for her gives her own area. Everybody in the place is wonderful to us and my mom. And I'm so glad that we decided to choose this place.

We looked very carefully for just the right spot, and we found it here. While initially hesitant to move, my MIL loved it here from the day she moved in, and still 18 months later. She has plenty to do, - from activities in the facilities and planned outings. She originally kept her car but has now realized using their bus is so easy and much more convenient. Rooms are freshly painted and carpeted. Menu is delicious and thoughtful. They care (and ask) what the residents want and make activity plans and menu plans accordingly. The staff know my MIL, not just her name. Optional and available onsite care services give us peace of mind and allow her to maintain her independence Any issues or concerns from the residents or their family’s are addressed quickly.

My Mom, Sister and I are very happy with her transition from living at her family home for 60 years to a very comfortable apartment at Independence Village. The Community is very pretty with lovely small group areas that have allowed Mom to host her family for game nights multiple times. She has lots of storage and very ample space in her apartment. Shereida and the staff are caring, know people by name and solidify that Mom made the right choice in apartment living at Independence Village!

This is a great place for families looking for the perfect place for their loved one. They have activities to engage the residents. The residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible within the community. The rooms are bright, open and generously sized, the meals are great and they offer a variety of options. My person is a picky eater and he has been satisfied with the meal options and servings. He has even found a few dishes to be his favorites and requests the meals again. He likes trying the different varieties of food options. The staff and residents are very friendly and it’s a great environment for your senior to thrive. My person realized how more independent he could be and looks forward to doing even more activities. He realized he isn’t as limited as he was before he joined the community. The management and staff do a great job in learning the tenants and are respectful and supportive. It’s a welcoming environment. I have visited several senior living communities and this one is much nicer than most that I have encountered. He is hard to satisfy and he loves his space and feels comfortable in his new home away from home.

The people at Independence Village of Waterford were very caring and friendly. This place would fit my needs. It was very clean and had a lot of amenities. I saw a one-bedroom apartment. They also have a library and a common area.

We looked at a room here that we were inquiring about, which was a one-bedroom, and it looked overall OK. It was about what I expected. The people that did the tour were friendly and nice. They provided all the answers that we asked for. They were helpful.

It was very nice and very clean. The people were very friendly. I was impressed with that place. It was small enough that mom could easily get to their common areas. They had a library, a chapel, dining areas, and a weight room. All of those were kind of centrally located, so we walked by them a few times and there were always people in there. It seemed like it was a very open and friendly place. The only thing was the rooms were small.

I liked the independent living. I like the fact that it seemed homier, and when you walked in, it was big. It wasn't like a small area you walked into and they had the dining room to the right. The food was fantastic, they had me on a lunch tour. The apartments are nice. I liked everything about it. The staff I met, her name was Miranda, was fantastic. She's a very sweet girl and answered all my questions. She was helping out in the dining room too and was just a nice girl. They have a beauty salon and a barber salon. They have a coffee station where you can get whatever you want to drink there. They have a nice exercise room. It's a 5-star any way I look at it.

It was my second choice. The person who showed me around was very friendly, and she followed up with me. Everybody was very friendly and it had a nice atmosphere, but the rooms were smaller than other places, and you can't cook in the rooms. They also had a bus.

Our experience was very nice. My father wanted more space, but it only had a kitchenette where he wanted a full kitchen. I remember the dining room was very nice, and they had a library or TV watching. Most of the apartments had balconies or patio and laundry.

It was nice, but it's for people who are more outgoing. The apartments were very nice and spacious, but they didn't have a full kitchen and a laundry inside. There was only one dining area, and it looked like it had a very big community. The food was kind of salty for me. They take the residents to the grocery store. It's not for a more reclusive type of person.

It was a very loving community. Everybody was very nice. My mom’s room had a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, a living room, a nice-sized bedroom, and a bathroom. They had a lot of activities there, like card games, and an activity room where they do crafts and stuff. They had entertainment at least twice a week and exercise classes; there was always something going on. The food was pretty good.

It provides three meals a day; they have full breakfast, their main meal is lunch, and then they have an evening meal. The staff was very nice, and they have a gazillion of activities.

We have already made a decision, and my loved one has moved in. My overall experience with the community is very positive. The rooms and surroundings are very nice. It is a mid-size type of community. It took a couple of months, but she is very happy now.

My husband and I went here. They have something like a gathering room right when you came in where people would sit and talk, and also an individual wouldn't feel alienated. I think they had a studio and an apartment type. They wouldn't have just only a studio because there were couples living there. They fed us a dinner; the food seemed healthy. They had a resident come up to us and talk about the place, and she said it's been a good experience. Even the chef came out to talk to the residents. I thought it was nice that he came out, and he was properly dressed in white and a white hat. They had a local brass band coming in to play music for them as we were leaving. They had activities. They had disco night, a lot of entertainment. I think they have 3 buses. It was run by a husband and wife team who were in their 50s. They were like their home away from home. They were very knowledgeable on everything. Everybody looked like they were happy. They weren't all hunched over the tables. I went away from there feeling very good.
