"The Bortz Health Care nursing home located in Lake Orion, Michigan has done an outstanding job with the residents. My grandfather has been a resident there for nine months now and I visit him frequently. The only concern I have with the staff at this Bortz facility is sometimes they are not as attentive as they should be. There has been several instances I have witnessed residents in need of assistance, usually with changing soiled clothing or needing help using the restroom, and staff left them unattended for up to an hour at a time. As an aging adult, it can already be quite embarrassing to lose control of bodily functions, and to be left sitting in it for any length of time adds to that.Aside from that, the facility is quite nice. Staff is extremely friendly and develops close bonds with residents. There are daily social activities that bring the residents together, often including music, games, and parties. Therapy dogs visit frequently, which many of the residents enjoy a great deal. Residents are given options for each meals, and in the event they are not interested in the menu items, staff will take requests.Overall, my grandfathers stay at Bortz has been a wonderful experience. He enjoys the privacy of his room, the staff, the interaction with other residents, and the meals. "

"My uncle lived here for 6 weeks. They were amazing.. He went hospice and they took great care of him!! I will always reccommend them to anyone!!! And their Hospice team "Residential hospice" were awesome!!!! "

"From my first interaction with both Lynn and Rebecca in the Admissions office, I felt relief and reassurance that my dear friend would finally be in a space of comfort and safety at Notting Hill. His recent physical decline had resulted in the decision to accept hospice care. While this decision was emotionally painful, moving into Notting Hill provided some relief for both of us. Neither my friend nor I knew what to expect from the end-of-life process, or how his needs would best be met. How fortunate we were that Notting Hill had the availability and resources to provide care for my sweet friend in his last month of life. Immediately noticeable upon entering Notting Hill is the cleanliness. No odor, no stains in the carpet or furniture. The newness of the facility lends to the pristine feeling of the environment. There are no barriers or alarmed doors requiring a code through which to enter. Residents are attended to in their rooms or in appropriately designated areas. I was relieved that the sights and sounds commonly found in facilities, such as a nurses station with staff and residents huddled around in a chaotic manner, were never observed at Notting Hill. CNAs Diane, Miesha, and Ebony were exceptional in their heartfelt efforts to provide dignity and respect for my friend. Anne D. generously provided a CD player so that he could listen to the music he loved so much. I was consistently impressed with the menu variety, both in nutritional value and taste. Even when it became necessary for him to have a pureed diet, his meals remained high quality in flavor and presentation. My work as a geriatric care manager has forever been altered by this personal experience. As the sole caregiver in this situation, I was grateful to have peace of mind that my loved one's path toward transition was guided by the compassionate care of the Notting Hill staff."

"The idea Grandma had to undergo knee replacement surgery was very stressful. Her fragile state to begin with, coupled with the negative feedback that circulates about the various nursing homes of our area, were extremely worrisome for us as a family. So when Grams entered West Bloomfield for her post acute care recovery, to be frank, I held my breath. But what a revelation! It was a testament to great care, in a lovely and relaxing environment, with nursing staff that went the extra mile to not only make sure she was comfortable but took an interest in what we as a family knew was important to her when she couldn't express it herself. The rehabilitation center was outstanding and her progress was more evident as she got stronger and stronger. They were kind, positive and proactive for a meaningful recovery. There was an overall sense of human spirit that made us feel welcome and while we initially had preconceived ideas of what the experience would be like, it couldn't have been a better fit. "

"Clean and fresh smelling. My aunt was well cared for, staff members were kind and caring. Food was pretty good, and the therapy was awesome! You will see a difference if you visit other homes, Social workers took care of all the equipment we needed to get home, and the home care too. Let's face it nobody wants to have to go to a nursing/rehab center, but when you must, Danto is a quality place. "

"Our family was impressed with the care that my husband received at Heartland last month. He had been in the hospital with pneumonia prior to his stay at Heartland. The Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists who worked with Howard were wonderful. He had great Nursing care. Thank you!!! "

"I was just recently a patient at Woodward Hills Nursing Center...and I couldn't have come away more pleased. Prior to my hip surgery, my physician indicated that I would probably need to go to a rehab facility following my procedure. Initially I was reluctant, but after touring several facilities...Woodward Hills immediately stood out amongst the rest. The building and grounds are beautiful. I had a room that lead out to a tranquil courtyard full of flowers. Most importantly though, the level of care I received from all of the nurses, therapists, and physicians was top notch. I thought I was going to need to be there for at least 3 weeks, but I ended up making such great progress that I was able to go home in less time than that. Thanks to everyone at Woodward Hills, I'm walking at home with no pain or discomfort. I highly recommend this facility to anyone needing rehabilitation. "

"Most of the aides were very courteous and quick to respond. Several went above and beyond and made our stay more pleasant. Sarah, Clare were great! Denise is a joy. Vickie in food services treated me like royalty. Joe and Urban always came right away. Several nurses Amal, Jeff, Q and others were really great. Amy help immeasurably! Finally Anglea really made our life so much better with help Procuring an oversized bed for me. The therapy staff is friendly and courteous. Jim and Jessica, Sue and Danielle were great! They worked with me to regain my strength! From Admissions to house keeping everyone met my needs! Thank You Boulevard. I would recommend this facility to others. "

"I am a friend of a resident of Medi Lodge Nursing Home. In general, I thought Medi Lodge to be a perfect choice for someone who is seeking placement for a friend or family member. It is the perfect place of serenity for anyone ages 50 and over to enjoy their years of comfort in. The ground of the facility are well maintained, structured and landscaped beautifully for anyone to enjoy the beauty of their comfort and also offers such a homey environment for their residents. The common areas of the facility are most tastefully decorated and also offer the best inviting common areas as well. the surrounding areas of the facility are also inviting and beautiful. The residents' rooms are beautifully decorated to fit each and every resident individual needs. The residents’ rooms do not smell and the residents are most happy there and convey congruently with one another. The atmosphere there is well balanced and structured within its community. The staff and management of the facility are very nice, professional, and team, task oriented in their job duties and performances. I think the residents receive excellent care there and the residents there are also treated like family by the staff and management there. While I was there, I noticed that the social society there attire was very formal and elegant and the staff members were always in sight for the residents there. They residents were having a variety of activities going on, recreational and other social functions for them to enjoy. The residents dining area was very formally coordinated to fit the formal attire of their residents. I would have to give Medi Lodge Nursing Home a five stars rating for their excellence and expertise. Overall, Medi Lodge Nursing Home is an excellent choice for placement for anyone 50 and over to enjoy their life at and I would recommend it to everyone, anyone age 50 and over; because I know that they will do well there and I know that they would like it there. "We have been visiting on zoom with a resident for the last 2 plus years, due to covid. The activity department has been very supportive of this arrangement. We have a set schedule every week and again, appreciate all of the assistance in keeping this going. We see the benefits for our friend as she's engaging and conversing more. Thank you again!"

"My grandmother lived there in the last couple of years before she passed. The staff was always very caring, never complained about the residents who made the constant calls, always had a smile. Maybe they didn't get immediately right on the task or request but they always remembered to do what was asked or needed. There was always something going on to keep the residents engaged. My mother used to work in a nursing home years ago that has since shut its doors and I have very unpleasant memories of any visit while she was at work. I never had that experience any of the times that I visited with my grandmother. So from my mother and the whole Babcock family, thank you to all of the nurses, aides, orderlies, technicians and staff that have cared for my grandmother for her last years. For everything that they have done and the love and care that they have shown for her. Words cannot express my family's gratitude for what I know is their calling and the way that they have treated my grandmother as if she were their own. "

"Everyone is so nice at Heartland Oakland. If you choose this center for skilled nursing/rehabilitation, you will really enjoy it. The staff is interested in what you are going through and all are willing to help you. They encourage you by telling you that you're doing well. I have enjoyed the activities that are offered. "

"Just spent 20 days here. Excellent service in all areas—phys therapy, occupational therapy, nursing/aides. Food is excellent as is cleanliness and activities. Spa/salon amenities and free wifi are the frosting on the cake. "

"I am a friend of a resident of Evergreen Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. In general, I thought that the facility was a nice place for a love one to live or to receive rehabilitation. The facility had great décor and the facility was very clean. The facility did not smell and the food looked good, and the dining area was formal. The facility also serves the residents and their visitors various flavors of ice cream between 3:00pm and 4:00pm 7 days a week. Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was beautiful with all of the décor matching and coordinated it was very tasteful to the eye. The grounds of the facility are beautiful and well maintained and very well manicured. The common areas of the facility are beautiful and well structured and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful with lots of land and a large structured parking lot in the front and the back of the facility. The residents' rooms are very contemporary and all décor and bedspreads matches the wallpaper on the wall. The staff and management of the facility are professional in all areas of their job duties. I think the residents get excellent care there. The visitors can also order, lunch or dinner and eat in the dining room with their friend or family member. While I was there, I noticed that in the early afternoon the facility had a musical group singing for the residents in the formal dining area, and I noticed that in the evening after dinner some of the residents were watching movies on a large movie screen in the recreation room. I enjoyed the time I was there visiting a friend of the family the facility was not at all like a facility but more like home and some of the residents rooms had one to two couches in them that matched the wallpaper on the wall. I would give Evergreen Rehabilitation and Nursing Center a five star rating. Overall, Evergreen Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a great place for a loved one to be placed. The staffs give the resident's great care one on one and they communicate consistently with the residents and I would recommend it to everyone/anyone, who is looking for a placement for their loved one; because I believe that their love one would do well there. "
