"The Bortz Health Care nursing home located in Lake Orion, Michigan has done an outstanding job with the residents. My grandfather has been a resident there for nine months now and I visit him frequently. The only concern I have with the staff at this Bortz facility is sometimes they are not as attentive as they should be. There has been several instances I have witnessed residents in need of assistance, usually with changing soiled clothing or needing help using the restroom, and staff left them unattended for up to an hour at a time. As an aging adult, it can already be quite embarrassing to lose control of bodily functions, and to be left sitting in it for any length of time adds to that.Aside from that, the facility is quite nice. Staff is extremely friendly and develops close bonds with residents. There are daily social activities that bring the residents together, often including music, games, and parties. Therapy dogs visit frequently, which many of the residents enjoy a great deal. Residents are given options for each meals, and in the event they are not interested in the menu items, staff will take requests.Overall, my grandfathers stay at Bortz has been a wonderful experience. He enjoys the privacy of his room, the staff, the interaction with other residents, and the meals. "

"THANK YOU!!!! Thank you to everyone at Woodward Hills!!! We cannot thank you enough for taking care of my mother. From the moment my mom checked in, everyone was so kind and so helpful. Shayna, our social worker was absolutely wonderful. She was super knowledgeable and a great resource. She was kind and patient. This was our first time as a family going through something like this, so we were very nervous and scared. She explained everything and answered all of our questions. Sue and Courtney were her PT and OT. They were so, so great! My mother is walking better now, than she has in last 6 or 7 years. This is because of them. They also gave me great ideas for when my mother returned home. Helpful hints that we are still using. All of the staff, from the nurses to the nurses assistants were pleasant and kind. Even though they can get super busy, I always knew they were on top of things. They have a beautiful dining room and outside courtyard area. They have activities and ice cream days that my mom loved. They were friendly to everyone that visited too. As my mom's caregiver, I will forever be grateful to Woodward Hills."

"This is very old facility no phones in the rooms. The staff sounds nice and when THEY want to can be helpful but if it’s a bad day for them and they decide that you have called to much, because your love one is having some problems, then they conveniently don’t answer the phone. When you do get someone on they phone you may or may not speak to your family members nurse. Something so simple as to speak to your 79 year old father who, in my minds eye may be in distress, becomes a problem. I tried several times and for several hours to HAVE to tell the staff nurse that if they don’t put my father on the phone right now I had only one last option and that was to call the police and 911. That is now desperate I got. All I wanted to do was hear my father’s voice! Why all this resistance was very concerning that is why I said what I said about the police and 911. After my 5 hour ordeal once I heard my father’s voice and could hear from him he was ok, I was fine. Was that really to much to ask for? REALLY! The “SECOND” floor nursing needed to GREATLY improve!"

"I am a friend of a resident of Medi Lodge Nursing Home. In general, I thought Medi Lodge to be a perfect choice for someone who is seeking placement for a friend or family member. It is the perfect place of serenity for anyone ages 50 and over to enjoy their years of comfort in. The ground of the facility are well maintained, structured and landscaped beautifully for anyone to enjoy the beauty of their comfort and also offers such a homey environment for their residents. The common areas of the facility are most tastefully decorated and also offer the best inviting common areas as well. the surrounding areas of the facility are also inviting and beautiful. The residents' rooms are beautifully decorated to fit each and every resident individual needs. The residents’ rooms do not smell and the residents are most happy there and convey congruently with one another. The atmosphere there is well balanced and structured within its community. The staff and management of the facility are very nice, professional, and team, task oriented in their job duties and performances. I think the residents receive excellent care there and the residents there are also treated like family by the staff and management there. While I was there, I noticed that the social society there attire was very formal and elegant and the staff members were always in sight for the residents there. They residents were having a variety of activities going on, recreational and other social functions for them to enjoy. The residents dining area was very formally coordinated to fit the formal attire of their residents. I would have to give Medi Lodge Nursing Home a five stars rating for their excellence and expertise. Overall, Medi Lodge Nursing Home is an excellent choice for placement for anyone 50 and over to enjoy their life at and I would recommend it to everyone, anyone age 50 and over; because I know that they will do well there and I know that they would like it there. "

"We have been visiting on zoom with a resident for the last 2 plus years, due to covid. The activity department has been very supportive of this arrangement. We have a set schedule every week and again, appreciate all of the assistance in keeping this going. We see the benefits for our friend as she's engaging and conversing more. Thank you again!"

"Just spent 20 days here. Excellent service in all areas—phys therapy, occupational therapy, nursing/aides. Food is excellent as is cleanliness and activities. Spa/salon amenities and free wifi are the frosting on the cake. "

"My dad has moved into SKLD in West Bloomfield. They have good, caring staff, and they have great visitation hours. It's clean, and they're willing to work with families. They have activities; he can't do them right now, but they have plenty of activities listed. Everyone has been polite and accommodating."

"I visited West Bloomfield Nursing facility. In general, I thought West Bloomfield Nursing facility was beautiful and would be an excellent choice for a friend or a family member. The facility was very beautiful and it was very clean and it didn't smell. West Bloomfield is an excellent choice for a placement of anyone and every one ages 50 and over. The grounds of the facility are beautiful and very well maintained and the landscape is very well decorated and structured. The common areas of the facility are beautiful and the surrounding neighborhood is also beautiful and the houses and the facility are surrounded by greenery and flowers. The residents' rooms are matching with various shades of blue and cranberry, with a touch of turquoise, matching sofas in the residents' rooms, with such an elegant look. The residents' rooms have such a magnificent smell of flowers. The staff and management of the facility are professional, team, task oriented in their job duties and performance. I think the residents receive excellent care there. The management and staff there treat the residents like family. West Bloomfield Nursing facility also offer their residents ice cream social, dancing, birthday parties, cooking class, and a vast majority of various other recreation and activity's. They also offer their residents prayer services, in their chapel, their prayer services are of various denominations. However that way no one is left out of their specific spiritual faith and denomination. While I was there, I noticed that the vast majority of their residents had their own personal care providers. The residents there also socialize very well with one another and the residents there were also always supervised by staff and or management. The residents there were also very well dressed and taken care of even the non mobile residents were dressed very formal. The entire structure of the facility was formal and elegant, and the residents conveyed to me that they love the staff and management there and the facility and all that it have to offer them. I would have to give West Bloomfield Nursing Center a five star rating for its excellence. Overall, West Bloomfield Nursing facility is an excellent facility for anyone that is looking for a placement for a friend or family member and I would recommend it to everyone, anyone, and anyone over 50 because I know that they would do well there and I know that they would like it there. "I toured Regency At Troy. The main level is for rehab like surgeries and things like that, so it's more PT and OT, and that area was excellent. The woman who ran it was fantastic. She was open and honest. Then when I went upstairs to where my friend would be, the facility was beautiful, but there was nobody there. There was one resident there who had dementia in that big living room by herself speaking out. It was horrible. So, a beautiful facility, and there were 2 or 3 people at the desk that did nothing. I walked through the whole place and I didn't see anybody else. It was very expensive, and I was not impressed by what would be for my friend. For someone who was rehabbing after surgery, that part of the facility appeared to be wonderful. It was very sterile. It's more like a hospital environment."

"The food at Notting Hill is amazing .... restaurant quality! The therapy staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend this facility for care. "

"My aunt has been a resident now for about 3 years. She has dementia and is in a wheelchair. This facility has been amazing especially during Covid. The staff is very helpful and courteous and keep me informed on her diet and if there are any issues I receive a phone call. I feel very lucky she is so well taken care of. "

"My grandmother lived there in the last couple of years before she passed. The staff was always very caring, never complained about the residents who made the constant calls, always had a smile. Maybe they didn't get immediately right on the task or request but they always remembered to do what was asked or needed. There was always something going on to keep the residents engaged. My mother used to work in a nursing home years ago that has since shut its doors and I have very unpleasant memories of any visit while she was at work. I never had that experience any of the times that I visited with my grandmother. So from my mother and the whole Babcock family, thank you to all of the nurses, aides, orderlies, technicians and staff that have cared for my grandmother for her last years. For everything that they have done and the love and care that they have shown for her. Words cannot express my family's gratitude for what I know is their calling and the way that they have treated my grandmother as if she were their own. "
