"We visited St. Anne's Mead. We liked it, but the rates were very high -- $6000 a month. My sister didn't want to pay that much. I had a sister-in-law who stayed there for about a month, and it was an excellent place. The food was excellent. They had plenty of activities. The rooms for the residents were very large. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it. "

"I went to Windemere Park Health & Rehab Center. I like it. It was very clean. They only allow two patients per room. The rooms were very nice. There were multiple wings to the facility, but in each hall, they had isolation rooms. If a patient had something that was contagious, those rooms is where they put the patient in, and I liked that about that place. It was actually my third choice, and the only reason that I decided not to use them is that the cost was comparable to what we were paying for my ex-husband's stay at the other community. Other than that, I like it. They gave me a tour of the building. It was very nice. The facilities are very nice. I didn't try the food, but the dining area is simply gorgeous. It was set up like a restaurant setting. The rooms were more like hotel rooms than hospital rooms. They had hospital beds and stuff, but they were as big as a hotel room. If you would get a queen-size double hotel room, that's how big they are. They have the ensuite bathrooms with the roll-in showers that are very nice. The facility also has a swimming pool. It's very elegant. It's more like a hotel stay than a nursing home. The patients that can dress themselves wear their regular clothes. They come down, and they sit in the lobby. They have a lot of activities for their seniors there, too. They have a bingo night and a movie night. It's nice. I was on time and the staff who gave the tour was late. They weren't prepared for my visit even though it was a scheduled visit. I think they were short staffed. Then they didn't have like all the brochures, and I had to ask for them. The staff did mail me brochures after my visit, and she gave me the little information that they did have."

"I think that the Hilton Convalescent Home is a very nice convalescent home for someone who is looking for a nice semi small convalescent home for a friend or a family member. The Hilton convalescent Home is a very nice facility it is not very large but it is nice and comfortable and it very homey as well on a contemporary style basis. The Hilton Convalescent Home is in a laid back very quiet, safe and secured neighborhood also. Ferndale community is a very nice quiet community where as everyone like it there. The vast majority of homes there are also laid back and on a contemporary style setting also and so are the surrounding neighborhoods. It offers such a safe and secured atmosphere and environment as well very low crime rate. While there, I noticed that the staff and management were professional and they also treated the residents like they were family. The residents appeared to be very happy as they were interacting with one another. They also offer their residents a variety of services, entertainment, refreshments, and recreational activities. It is such a nice Nursing home for someone who is looking for a nice and clean nursing home for a friend or a loved one. I also noticed that residents' rooms were nice and clean and the residents' rooms did not smell. I would recommend this facility to any and every senior that like to live in a nice semi small size nursing facility that is not too large and has more privacy because there are less people to have to come into contact with. Because I think that they would like it there and I know that they receive good care there also. I would rank this facility on a four stars rating for the good service that they provide for their residents. "

We made a checklist and evaluated each for cleanliness, staff, and the rehab facility itself. In addition, we took into account recommendations from friends who have either stayed in a nursing facility or had relatives who had. Of the eight we visited, Heartland come out on top in all categories. My mother stayed at Heartland for a number of weeks... her care was exceptional !!! All of the staff were kind, attentive, and very professional. I would highly recommend Heartland Health Care to anyone who needs professional rehabilitation and wants to be treated with respect and dignity. "

"My husband moved into the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility. He's happy there. They have plenty of staff. They're very friendly. The facility is clean. The food is much better than what he was getting at the other facilities, so he's fine with the food. They have a hair salon, physical therapy, a little aviary, and a game area where they have a game table. They have games, like puzzles, and things for them to do. They have activities all the time. They usually have a dog come in for visits once a month or so. They have church services. Everything is there. The staff members are always there. They're always responsive and helpful. They don't make you wait a long time. Medicaid and Social Security pay for it."
