Everything was nice at The Pines of Burton. But the thing I didn't like was the price. For what they do as opposed to what the other place does, it was like $2,000 more, and I feel like that's just too much money. The rooms looked nice. Everything was great. The atmosphere was very good, and they were doing activities when I was there. They had someone calling out bingo for the people that were there. There were about four or five people playing bingo. They had an area where they take the clients in and do their hair; it's like a beauty shop. They have a room for theater, and they have a big screen TV in there. It looks very nice, but for the cost, I feel like it's taking so much away from my sister. The staff who gave the tour was good though.

The Pines of Burton was awful. Everybody appeared drugged and like a zombie. It was depressing. They only had one person for 15 to 20 people to help them with their needs. The rooms were small. The maintenance wasn't that great. They took us through memory care and they did not seem well taken care of when we walked in. They didn't seem to be getting the attention. The outside may look nice, but once you've got on the inside, it just did not appear to be maintained well.

My husband moved into The Pines of Burton. I've had some things that I wasn't satisfied with, but it's starting to smooth out. I was a little dissatisfied at the beginning because I thought he was going to get more hands-on care because he's a new patient. Maybe we don't know the system so that's fine. So I was completely satisfied, but it's starting to get better as time goes by. His room is lovely. He has two bay windows, a big bathroom, a closet, and a nice and roomy area for him. The maintenance is very good. The person that cleans, the maintenance man, he's very nice and informative. He's given me pointers and I'm really satisfied with his input. The dining area is nice. Both chefs that I've met there, whatever you ask for like if you need more, they're willing to do whatever it takes to make the person comfortable. He's getting home care there where they come in and do physical therapy with him. For me, the location is close and they're keeping it clean. The staff, everybody has a different personality. So far, aside from the incident at the very beginning, everything's been good and it's gotten better. Their big meals are in the morning and afternoon, and they give snacks in the evening. There were some things that he said were good. There's no smell, they keep the rooms clean, and as you walk down the hall you can see other people's rooms because the doors are open, and everything's always kept up. There are puzzles and stuff for them to do.

My grandmother is at The Pines of Burton. I like it. They followed Covid-19 safety precautions. They had very nice and very respectful staff. They were a bit pricy, but they provided quality care to their residents. They were very respectful of maintaining safety for their residents as well. As far as folks who may have wanted to attempt to visit, someone they considered a loved one, but that loved one did not consider them; i.e., ex-husbands and things like that. They were very good at taking those kinds of precautions as well. Due to Covid-19, I wasn't able to sit and dine with my loved one because visitors were only allowed to come in within the standard restricted areas, and dining was a public space. It was a little pricy, but not as pricy as other facilities.

The Pines of Burton was small which we liked because it would be less confusing for someone who has memory problems. We're impressed with the staff, who seem to be very kind and accommodating. The cook is very accommodating and if they want something that's not on the menu, they usually get it. My mom is impressed with the food. I liked that they have an aviary inside which was very good, and my mom really likes the birds, which is good for her. It seems like the people who work there really care about the residents, which is the most important thing to us. My mom gets the care that she needs and I believe that they're delivering that. The staff could use a little bit of training on helping with transferring people from bed to the chair to the toilet in order to make it more comfortable for the people being transferred. Based on the amount of care that my mom needed, their price seemed reasonable.

The one I choose for my mother is The Pines of Burton Memory Care South. It is a new building. It is very nice. It is in a small town, so the caregivers are very caring and attentive. Sometimes, they may need more people that what they have, but that's just because it is memory care; some nights and days are busy, and some are not. They are not a nursing home, but they do have meds. They are very caring. They have three meals a day. They have two nice living rooms. Sometimes they only have two people there, but that's usually at night. They have an activities director that comes in twice a day. They do exercise with the beach balls, and they do different kinds of exercises. They do bible stories, crafts, and games. They have an in-house barber shop/hair salon, and the lady comes in once a week and does people's hair at an extra cost. They have a theater. It is a small room, but you can have your family in there to watch movies and eat popcorn.
