My mother moved into Brookdale Grand Blanc. It was close to my home, so it was easy for me to get there. And the people there were very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. My mom enjoys the food, she says it's very good. Her room is kind of small, but it's very nice, very clean. It's got a window there. They have a movie night there, they have little dining rooms for each of the wings, and they have a laundry service. They take good care of her. They have entertainment. They had a violinist come in and was playing for everybody in the lobby there. They have a big seating area, and then they have simple exercises. They have an activity director, they have some small weights and then they do some small exercises right in the lobby there.

The thing that I like about Brookdale Grand Blanc is that it seemed as though when we went in, all the residents seemed happy and the caretakers were very friendly. We just did not care for the rooms because they were so small. It seemed like a hospital, but the facility was clean. I think it needed to have some touch-ups as far as being dated because the microwaves were quite old and the refrigerators were quite old, too. The food smelled good and then they showed us a pool room. They had six different dining areas for each hall. They showed us a library and they had a craft room.

Brookdale Grand Blanc was very clean and had helpful people. They were very pleasant and able to answer any question I had without hesitation. They had different events throughout the month. They had jigsaw puzzles and cards. They also had a very wide menu selection. The room was just smaller than what I was looking for.

The tour at Brookdale Grand Blanc was good. It was a nice place, but it was not something that my friend could afford right then. The staff was very nice and informative. The people that I saw moving around in there seemed very happy and comfortable, so I would recommend it. The facility was clean and didn't smell. You can have pets. Everybody seemed pretty friendly and outgoing.

I toured Brookdale Grand Blanc, I liked the facility, but my dad had a change of heart and he wants to stay at home. It was a beautiful facility. It was nice and clean. The people were nice. It's a newer facility and it didn't smell. The staff was wonderful. She was professional, warm, outgoing, and knowledgeable. The rooms were fully furnished. I don't know what kind of appliances there were, but the rooms I looked at were fully furnished. They have outdoor spaces, and the only one that I saw was a gazebo.

My dad will be moving into Brookdale Grand Blanc. When we approached the building, the outside was very well kept. When we went in, we were greeted promptly and friendly. The staff has been in constant contact with me and showed us around. She knew all the residents by name. It was a very home-like environment, and I felt very comfortable encouraging my dad to go live here. The staff was very friendly, answered all our questions, and was knowledgeable. They offered us coffee or snacks, but we declined. The facility was genuinely clean.

We're going to move mom into Brookdale Grand Blanc. It was very nice. I noticed that there were a lot of oak furnishings and trim and a lot of the window trims and stuff were made all out of oak. It was very nice. The staff was very nice and very helpful. It was the second time we had been to Brookdale and she asked specifically about how my mom was doing, and she gave us some insight and gave us an additional tour while we were there. People were in the dining hall eating. It was in a group setting, with very modern decor, and it was nice. I know that they have outdoor cooking areas for barbecues and grills. There were arbors outside. I didn't see anybody doing any activities. It must have been just the time of day that I was there.

Rooms are small but comfortable. Very bright. Food is great. Residents are in small communities and they dine family style. Care is terrific and the staff is respectful of residents privacy, kind and cheerful. This reminds me of dorms for seniors. Our 83 year old mom healed quickly and transitioned to an independent apartment with some support.

My neighbor moved into Brookdale Grand Blanc. I love the layout. She is on the first floor. I love the whole concept of the place because they're like little cul de sacs mostly. And so you interact and you eat with the people that live in your little courtyard. That was one thing that drew me there, it's eight to twelve people max, although it's not that many folks down where she is. The meals are there. There's a library right next to her room, basically close to her room, the dining hall, and the lobby. What I like most are the people, the staff from the director, Jodi who is the manager of something, they are there all the time. The staff that comes in, knocks on the door to check on her. People are friendly, they're from all over. The beauty of the place, it's a lovely, lovely place, and the staff. I just absolutely adore them. Her room is fabulous. It's a suite and just really nice and clean and beautiful. It was a great transition to move from her home, which she had a lovely, lovely home and big. You move into a nice little suite, the sitting area, a little refrigerator, a little corner to keep her snacks in. The bathroom was really important because of the shower at her house. Lots of closet space for bringing things. The furnishings were nice, we only brought a couple of little things from home. Actually, the room, where it's located, just won me over when I walked in the door the very first time to check it out. And then I brought my neighbor to check it out and they took us down to see that room. I have nothing but good things to say. They took her down for crafts and because she uses a walker, they got a wheelchair and they took her down for the crafts. She's done crafts, she's done several things. I know she played bingo yesterday and then there's a card kind of party thing that they do on Friday evenings. There was a lot of entertainment, just Thursday they had an event for the families to come in and ask questions and meet the staff and everything. I had a class on Thursdays, so I couldn't attend, but Jodi sent me pictures of my neighbor sitting there enjoying the entertainment that they had. They do extra little things like that because it is very hard for the residents to leave their homes to make this kind of transition, and everybody was very attentive and trying to help her through that and it's been great. Right now, they're putting in a new carpet or something. They'll close the office space right now, all the furniture is taken out and put into the library only because you're putting in new carpet and painting and doing all that stuff, but it's clear that they put money into keeping it looking nice. We were very impressed with the cost of being there.

The people at Brookdale Grand Blanc were nice. It was clean and the patients seemed happy. I went to see their assisted living. It was nice and everything was kept up well. The staff was all friendly and helpful. It's the one I liked the best for my mom.

My mom is in Brookdale Grand Blanc. It's a great operation, very professional, seems to be a very caring unit, and that got our attention. They met the standard that we were looking for. The staff is very caring, very professional, and very knowledgeable of the needs of the elderly. The food is prepared deliciously. I would love to eat there every evening. The facility is impeccable, very clean, very organized, and they make seasonal changes as far as flowers and decorations go. I am very pleased with the facility. There's quite a few activities. I am not sure which ones, but my mom seems to be very happy with the variety of activities there. The value for the money is very reasonable compared to others.

We like Brookdale Grand Blanc very well, it's our second choice. It was set up in a town hall so it's very large. But every area had its own little town hall, own little dining area, own little community area so you won't get lost. That's the thing I like because my mother's memory is not very good and I was afraid that if she's one of 200 residents, she'd get lost in all of that. The lady who gave us the tour was fabulous, she was very good. She was keeping on top of things and if we needed something she'd answer our needs. I like the setup very much, it was very nice. It wasn't new but it was very clean and well-taken care of. We just walked in and the staff gave us the tour and she was very accommodating, she did a very good job.

We toured Brookdale Grand Blanc. It was very impressive, the staff was very friendly, but the the office girl that was going to do our tour was busy, so the chef took us on tour and explained the facility to us. It was private rooms only, not apartment style, and so it would have been a big adjustment for my mother-in-law. Everything was all in one room, and they had a maintenance fee of like $2,500 upfront which was non-refundable, and that was quite a bit to come up with to move into the facility. They had a gentleman playing music when I was there, they have an indoor bird cage which is glassed in with birds in there, and each floor has a dining room, but there are several little dining rooms on those floor. It was not like they eat together in a big dining room, so it's almost secluded. They offer a diabetic meal, but that was for an additional cost.

My mom has been in three communities and she said that Brookdale Grand Blanc has been the best by far, she really liked it there. They have good food and the staff is very caring. They always respond quickly when she has to use her emergency pendant. It's just an all-around good atmosphere. Her room is always kept clean, and they make her bed every morning. They have Bingo, puzzles, movie time, they have live entertainment, and music that comes in. She's been real pleased with all of it. They opened up trick-or-treating to the community, they gave all the residents candy, and let them sit outside the door to give candy to kids that pass through.

From what I’ve seen in all of the other places, I like Brookdale Grand Blanc best. I like the way it’s run, the cleanliness, the staff, and everything about it. The room is very nice, and there’s plenty of room for my mother. They go on outings, and they have Bingo and entertainment that they bring in every week; just something every day.

My mother has been in Brookdale Grand Blanc since April and is doing well. It's a very nice community, and they are kind to my mom. She needs a lot of care, and they do pretty well taking care of her considering they're an assisted living, not a skilled nursing home. The rooms are very nice. They keep them very clean, and they're very good about getting her laundry done and getting it back to her. The food is fine. Yesterday, they grilled hamburgers and hotdogs outside for Labor Day. They had coleslaw and a nice dessert. She's fine with the food. I've eaten there too, and I'm also fine with it. It's very pretty, and I like that there's a front porch with beautiful white rocking chairs on it. The people go out there and enjoy the outdoors. It has a little aviary that my mother just loves. They have bingo, a puzzle room, people coming in to do church services, etc., and they're having an ice cream social this Thursday. They do a nice job with the recreation for the people who want to participate.

Mom moved in, and she is happy where she is. Everything is very nice, and the staff is very accommodating and pleasant. She has a 1-bedroom with a bathroom, it’s large enough for her, and she likes it. She gets everything in there that she needs, and there are lots of lights. The food is not bad, but it’s not really good. They are exercising every morning, and there are quite a few groups that come in and entertain them. They have play groups, coloring, and sing-a-longs, and they do a lot of activities within the home. She has made quite a few friends, and she is happy there. She really likes the staff, the kitchen staff, and the chef.

We visited here. It was very good and close to the place where dad lives now so it was a good comfort level for him. He especially liked the nurse. I thought it was a fine visit.

I visited here a couple of weeks ago and the place is very nice. They serve a good meal and they are very hospitable. They showed us the rooms. Everything worked out fine except we aren’t ready for them yet.

It seemed adequate and nice. It was fairly new and clean. They had activities found in the other facilities. They had private rooms and no shared rooms, which was just not going to work for my wife.
