"I love StoryPoint Fenton, but it's too expensive for my brother-in-law. It's beautiful. The whole facility is top-notch. It is very open and welcoming. There is a huge gathering area. The receptionist is right there to greet you. They had the director right away, and they took me to a model room that was set up. It was a one-bedroom and it had a refrigerator. It was very, very nice. However, that was an assisted living senior community, and that was not what I was looking for. I was looking for memory care-assisted living. They would do an assessment of my brother-in-law before he was allowed to live there. He probably could fit into the assisted part of it, but that part was too big for him. It's all one level, which is good, but I think that with him getting himself from his room to where they have to go and eat would have been difficult, because the layout wasn't good for him in the memory state that he is in right now. I also went to memory care. It was beautiful. We walked through it. It was very nice. They have a nice little area where you could go in and sit by a fireplace and watch movies. The kitchen was right there. They only have 16 residents, which is nice. They were finishing up lunch when I got there. They have several little areas where you could sit down and have a conversation or play a game. The windows were on each side of a nice wide hallway. They showed me a room that my brother-in-law would have. It was a studio. Somebody had just moved out of there, and they were in the process of painting it and getting it freshened up for the next person to come in. It had a nice view out the window where you could put a bird feeder or whatever. All of his furniture could go in the room, too. Then the staff showed me where the patio was, and it was very nice. They have a grill out there where they would grill food for the people. It is also backed up to a wooded little area where you could see nature and sit out there. It was very welcoming and very comfortable. I told her that I would move in there myself right now, so that part of it was very, very nice. The residents that were there were more in line with what level my brother-in-law was at physically. He's very mobile, and he has no medical issues with his heart, legs, or lungs -- nothing. It is just his mind right now is having a problem. If money were not an object, I would have him go to StoryPoint just because of the aesthetics of everything."

"All the rooms in Charter Senior Living of Davison were very nice. The community, the atmosphere, the dining rooms, the living areas, and everything was nice. They had a menu that looked adequate. They had bingo, which my father would like. They also had entertainment as part of their activities."

"Beautiful facility, my mother seems safe. I generally love the staff but for some reason this facility is having a hard time with staff retention. Before COvid there were many musicians coming in which the residents enjoyed. Activity director Sue is outstanding. When my mom was doing better she loved Bingo, wii Bowling and golf, art projects, and word games."

"My mother moved in. They're very caring, it's a good program, and she's happy there. It's a small facility, but it's worked out really well for her. The room is quite small, but then most of the studio places are, and she doesn't seem to mind. She's happy with the food and the care. They do extra activities, and it's been a good experience. The staff is very nice and very caring."

"Caretel Inns had everything we need. The place was only two years old, and that was a big factor. There were no bugs in the place and that was a good thing. The staff was pleasant and observed cleanliness. They treated their residents well. The apartments had one bedroom and a kitchen in, where the residents can cook. The residents can also go down to their dining room. They have 3 meals a day and snacks. My wife was a trained chef, and she said the food was good. During our visit, there were residents playing cards outside. They had a pool for residents to swim in. They had three vans that picked people up to go shopping. We walked all over, and there were a lot of activities going on. Their security was very good. They had cameras all over. They had slide keys like in hotel rooms. Their price was $2800 a month, and it was reasonable. "

"Vicinia Gardens of Fenton was a very nice community. The people that were there were also very nice. The facility was clean, spacious, and pretty nice. Their amenities were comparable to bigger places that we've seen, they have a community-type room for the residents, and they have a comfy and nice dining area. The rooms that they had left were private and nice. It would have worked for us but it was so far away."

"We visited Courtyard Manor of Swartz in person. We met outside and walked around the facility and looked in a couple of windows. It seemed like a very positive experience. It seemed like a well-cared for facility. We weren't able to go inside, but just the impression we got was that it was a well-run facility. The staff seemed very professional and had a positive outlook. We only met one person. We were able to look through a window, but we couldn't really see the room very well inside. The exterior seemed well cared for and in good shape."

"The tour at Devonshire was very good. We like the staff; they were friendly and knowledgeable. They have private rooms, bathrooms, and lots of activities. It was a good choice, but I was hoping for a lesser price, and I was hoping for closer to the house. The grounds were nice and appropriate. "

"My sister moved to Vista Springs Trillium Village Estate and it's very nice, clean, and bright. The staff is nice. We are very pleased with her living space. They have a library, an activity room, and a theater. The cost is reasonable."

"My sister has moved into Vibrant Life, The Lodge of Durand. It was by far the best, as far as staff, pricing, and what they had to offer. The other ones were much higher in price, didn't seem to have the room size, and weren't as up-to-date as Vibrant was. I have no complaints with the staff or the food. The food is fine. The activities appear to have helped her; they're excellent."

"I went to tour BeeHive Homes of Oxford. Everyone was nice. The facility was clean. They spent a lot of time with us. They have a smaller cafeteria because they cater to a much smaller group. There are not as many people. The rooms were studios. They have their private bathroom in each one. There was nothing wrong with them, but they were just generic. They weren't as many activities as the other facility. There were very few. They have a bus that will take people in and out, and they have a smaller common area, but they have a nice outdoor area."
