I toured Addington Place of Clarkston for my husband. The pros that I listed were a very committed staff, a nice, small cozy bedroom, it was a single room, and they have lots of activity and lots of food. My cons were some of the spaces were huge, and the space was just wasted. The thing that turned me off is that my husband had cancer and he's partially incontinent, so he just has to wear a pad, and you can change it twice a day. I had them shipped in myself, and I think it's like 90 a month. Every place that I had talked to said they'll take care of that. I just have to just ship them in and pay for it. She quoted me a price of $4,950 a month for the room, and $450 a month for his incontinence care, so that put my bill up to $6,480. Nobody needs $450 a month to change somebody's pad. That was just the end for me, and this is ridiculous. They said they have an incontinence doctor, and I said he doesn't need an incontinence doctor, he just needs some change. That was my huge turnoff, but they were very professional.
