If your love one needs total care this is not the place, they will not be treated with the care they need. No q2 turns, my love one suffered and unstageable wound within 4 weeks of being there, don’t expect anyone to follow up with the family about how’s the care going… you won’t even see the. Nurse manager until a issue is out of hand… they promise things and don’t do them.. if you decide to put your love one here expect to stay on guard at all times and advocate for your love one. Staff will not even get your love one up in a chair especially if they’re obese which is not normal part of nursing. The admission director is nice and caring she tries her best.

Superior Woods Healthcare Center had an institutional feel to it. It's kind of dark. The nurses were very friendly and very open and when I talked to them separately, they were very kind. The staff was great, but the facility had a dark feeling to it. I didn't like the rooms at all. They were set up like a hospital room. They had no homey feel to it. They were shared or double rooms. They had an activity schedule. They had bingo and daily activities for the residents. They had the PT and the OT. The only thing that I was so concerned about was the PT room and the OT room, and I think with them though, you would have to give up your primary care doctor.

Staff is friendly helpful and caring in assisted living. Mom is happy there. Her room is spacious and she has it to herself. Charlotte RN Kaye Bryan Oscar have been a blessing to us in her care. There are more staff members also but I don’t remember their names. Front office staff as well. The facility is clean and inviting. We feel safe and comfortable with Mom’s care.

I'm living in Superior Woods. Some of the aides are good, and some of them are not. I had one the other day who was kind of being mean. My stuffed dog is missing, and I can't find him anywhere. I like the room; it's just some of the aides are sometimes unbearable, and they don't like me, so I'm looking for another place. The room is large. There is my bed and another bed, but my roommate went home the other day. I also have a TV and a closet. The food is cold, so I don't like it. Right now, they won't let us go out. I could go play bingo and stuff like that, but as far as eating, you have to stay in your room and eat. They have bingo, and there are movies on certain days. However, I haven't had a shower since I've been here. I have been asking for a shower, but they never give it to me, and that's one of my main concerns. Also I make my own bed. My Medicaid is taking care of the cost.

Overall, I had a great experience while was there for 6 weeks. I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the area who needed this kind of facility. And I have. I was fortunate to only have a roommate for a few days. Most of the staff were upbeat and caring, but there were a few who I wanted to slap. Very few, though. Weekend coverage wasn't great, but I never had any real problem. LOVED my PT (Gohtemie - probably spelled wrong) and OT (Kristina)! I didn't partake of any of the activities (much to the activities directors chagrin), so I can't really rate them, but it seemed like they had a lot.

Our Mom was a resident at Superior Woods for several years. She had many caregivers who treated her with great respect and love. Many of the staff are very kind. The activities department does a really great job planning things for the residents. At mealtime, "all hands are on deck" to help residents eat. The new management is trying to improve care. It's a nice facility throughout. We knew in advance that if either of our mothers needed to be in a nursing home that we would choose Superior Woods.

I was recently a patient there and absolutely loved how nice everyone was and how beautiful the building was. There were lots of activities when I was not doing therapy and a great guitarist/singer 2 times a week. I had such a quick recovery and would definitively go back (if I needed to) AWESOME PLACE!!

My grandmother is a resident at this facility for years but this past year has been an amazing improvement. They have a lot of resident involvement and they ACTUALLY listen to what their needs are. The building is clean and the staff really care. I am so glad to see how happy my grandmother is.

My family member is currently at Superior w Woods foe rehab. First off the facility is not clean at all. The chairs in the rooms are fabric and they are filthy, the walls and floors are dirty. There is always an odor, not clean at all. The food is horrible, it looks and smells awful. They did not pass out Water to the patients Sunday the whole day after my relative had asked for it repeatedly. She also was denied pain medication, she just had hip surgery. I have called there several times and did get an answer. And alot of the staff are very rude and not helpful at all. I would not recommend any TAKE their loved one here. This place is horrible.

I liked the atmosphere at Superior Woods Healthcare Center when we first walked in, and the people seemed friendly there. The residents looked OK and seemed like they were happy and friendly. My brother has only been there 3 days.

Superior woods has a number of shortcomings. Weekend help was very deficient, probably due to the lack of supervision. Residents needs were often neglected. The food service is AWFUL. I have never seen worse. Meals were not fit for dogs. They have outsourced this service to a private company. They were delivered late almost every day and in the hallways you could hear patients hollering, "where is my dinner", almost every night around 6:30-7:00pm. When I complained it fell on deaf ears. Plan on bringing loved one's plenty of snacks and taking them out for a good meal often.

My parents moved to Superior woods and they have double rooms with double bathrooms as well. We came across it through the hospital social worker. It's a rehab area but they also have assisted living, however, I think they were a little bit low on staff. I would recommended them.

This is a very nice assisted living and nursing center. When looking for a place for your parent(s) or loved ones, don't be fooled by some of these places with the huge, billowy curtains, overstuffed couches and "all of the activities." The truth is that a nursing home is a nursing home regardless of the marketing prowess of organizations like Glacier Hills and University Living + many others that are well-known establishments in Ann Arbor. Smaller is better and Superior Woods delivers. The Aids are on their feet, servicing the needs of the residents, I never saw a break room and I've never had a worker tell me that the care of my family member didn't fit their job description. The reality is, I've had this experience with high-end establishments, servicing retired professors - ahem - supposedly servicing retired professors & administrators. The good news about Superior Woods is that the place is clean, it's in a nice, easily accessed location, the staff is courteous and professional and my family member, who has stayed there on respite more than 2x, has had a positive experience. Let's face it - no one wants to stay in a nursing home, but if this kind of care is needed, I would recommend Superior Woods over any facility that I've seen or visited in Ann Arbor.

The tour was very good at Superior Woods. The building and everything is just beautiful. The place is very clean and it's not that old, maybe six or seven years old. The staff seemed very cooperative. I knew the level of care and a couple of people who worked there because the company I worked for was a sister company. They have a dining area but some people were bed bound and had to eat in their rooms. It was a little bit expensive though.

The assisted living side of Superior Woods was very nice and clean. I think they had 18 people there. They did have some openings but my brother handled the financial stuff. The dining area was nice, neat, and clean and the menus looked good. They do their activities there and it was roomy enough because they had few residents.

The Superior Woods Healthcare Center is located in the nicer part of Ypsilanti, MI. When I was first told that I should visit a friend there, I was worried about the area. There are some parts of Ypsilanti that aren't safe, but Superior Woods is located near Eastern Michigan University and is in a nicer part of the city. I thought the facility was about average. It wasn't spectacular, but it seemed to provide comfort and good care for the residents. Most of the residents that I saw seemed to need quite a bit of assistance. The staff appeared very patient and they worked hard. This facility won't awe you with its beauty, but it looks like a solid home that is reliable and well run. It definitely didn't feel like it was located in Ypsilanti. The residents seemed content there and I didn't see any major issues or events take place during my visit.
