"Sunset House was expensive. They require a bit of money to live there, but it was very nice. It had everything that one would need or want. They had restaurant-style living. They were very informal about breakfast -- i.e., you could come down any time and have it. They definitely have levels of care and assistance. Once you got settled there, you never had to leave. However, the staff was not accommodating as much. It was less accommodating and less friendly, but they had everything that one would want. "

"The facility of Ayden Healthcare of Toledo is bad. I've talked to some of the residents there and it's not what it's all planned out to be. Their food isn't the greatest. I've seen it being distributed out. I wouldn't even feed my grandbaby that kind of food. The staff was pleasant, but I just wouldn't let my uncle go there. I just wouldn't. The rooms were small and they got to share bathrooms. There's two people in a room, so that's a total of four people using one bathroom. Absolutely not. It's fairly clean (not as clean as I would like it to be). They need a better dining area."

"Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toledo was a fairly new building. However, the alarms were continually going off at the nurses station, which you could hear all the way down the hall where my mom was at. Every resident could hear it, and they were going off all the time. I understand this was in the midst of COVID, but they did not allow any family member to be with my mom during the intake process. It was extremely confusing and upsetting to her. She didn't have any of her own clothing. She was cold. She didn't know what she was doing or where she was going. There were no familiar faces. They wouldn't let any of us in until visiting hours started some 7 hours later. Also, the food was really bad. I was not happy with them. Other than that, the coordinator was excellent, and the nurses were very kind when therapy came in."

"To start off, the facilities parking lot is ridiculous. There is never anywhere to park and sometimes you have to wait for hours to get a spot. The elevators (There are two) are usually jam packed with people and not always operating correctly. I have gone in this facility several times and they had one if not both of the elevators out of service. The staff is not very pleasant either. I would not put my dog in this facility. This is just my opinion, but I have never had a pleasant experience while going to this facility "

"The thing, I guess, that I liked best was the people looked very happy, and everybody seemed very engaged in activities. Generally, Swan Creek was a happy looking place. The staff was very pleasant and very well prepared. "

Everyone is involved with the residents and they believe in promoting participation in care from their clients. The approach is both mind body and soul. "My mom has moved into Genacross Lutheran Services Wolf Creek. So far, we're satisfied with it. My mom has a bedroom, a bathroom, a nice living room, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. She doesn't have a kitchenette. The staff, so far, has been caring and friendly. I'm satisfied with them. My mom does some crafty things, physical therapy, exercise, and sing-a-longs."

"My friend was a resident of Spring Meadows Extended Care. They were accommodating. My friend was not in very good shape, and that was the problem. It is an older building, but it was kept up okay. They answered all my questions, and they took care of my friend. They had locked down quite a few times, so they took care of it pretty well. And then we were checked when we went into the building too."

"We chose Merit House Senior Community because it was a VA-related facility, and it was recently renovated. It has been a good experience so far. The nurses are pleasant. The food is regular hospital food, but it's a good place. They are attentive to my dad. They followed our wishes and they allowed my puppy to come in. So, they have been nice and accommodating. They also followed the directives the doctors gave. The floors are nice and clean. You see the people waxing the floors and cleaning them. There's no bad smells like most nursing homes have. It's a pretty decent facility."

"My husband was at Sylvania Center. He wasn't getting the therapy that he was supposed to get. When I went up there, he was out of it most of the time. When I asked them to remove some of his medications, they said they would one at a time because they didn't know which one was causing the hallucinations and the other things. My husband also had a hard time swallowing. When he was released from the hospital, he was on a thickener, but he wasn't at this nursing home. He couldn't participate in physical therapy because they had him so drugged up, so he had lost the ability to swallow and was not able to walk. He had such a bad infection in his leg that it looked like it was ready to pop. I wanted him to go to the hospital, but the doctor from the nursing home refused to call the squad. When I got him to the hospital, he was so severely dehydrated that his tongue was black. They couldn't get an IV in him because his veins were like glass and his kidneys had failed. Basically, they couldn't do anything to save him. He was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and I had to make the decision to take him off life support."

"The nurses, nurse aides, PT & OT therapists, nurse practitioner, and social workers were professional friendly and provided me with the utmost excellent day or night. During my time there I felt safe and comfortable. This facility is kept immaculately clean, and thankfully practices strict Covid protocols. I highly recommend this facility to anyone of any age in need of extended medical treatment, and/or Rehabilitation therapy."
