"Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont was a beautiful facility. Everything looked very nice and state of the art. I would have really liked for my dad to consider going there. The facility was great. It's very clean and very pretty. The woman who took me on the tour was so nice. She even offered to help if it didn't work out with us there, and she was willing to help above and beyond that. I really liked her. She was very informative and went into detail about how they have a chef in there, that the residents have a lot of input on the menu, and that they make really fancy dishes and stuff. They also have a bird aviary where the residents can sit and watch the birds. It's all enclosed in glass, and it's very nice. They go on trips. They do all the laundry. If the residents want to do their own laundry, they can. You can also put whatever you want in the room. It has a small refrigerator already, but you're welcome to bring a microwave, TV, and whatever you want. They have patio areas. Every so often there are benches where you can sit outside."

"My brother once stayed at Parkview Care Center. I know that he said they were all very nice. Of course, he did not like being there because he can't have visitors. But other than that, if it was not for the isolation, I think he would have been happier. But that is beyond anybody's control at this point. They were very kind and attentive. I guess he ate only because he had to eat. Some things were probably better than others, no matter where you go, even if it is a restaurant, it will have that issue. I would imagine it was not as good as home-cooked meals. I was not able to visit it him and I was not able to talk to him that much because his phone did not work. It is in a convenient location. I could tell they put on a new roof, so they are improving the building itself. He was not able to do anything. He was not very mobile, and he ended up with Covid, so there was nothing for him to do, he could not leave the room. I don't think anybody could leave the room because of Covid. The staff was excellent, from what I understand. They were always very, very nice to me."

"He was well taken care of by the associates there. He was a very independent person and had spent most of his life dealing with alcholism so being able to have people around him helped him a lot! My mother had worked at Bethesda care center for a couple of years and knew that it was a good place that would provide the care that he needed in his final days. He never ever acted as though he disliked being there and always had positive things to say about his nurses and his room mate. They had a community lunch room. On many occasions we would go and eat dinner with him. He was able to have many of his things in his room such as his recliner that he loved to sit in. He also had his tv and personal pictures up which was a comfort to him and us. My grandfather was a very lonely person through out the years. He had lost my grandmother when she was only 25 to tuberculosis and never remarried. So to get some interaction with other people on a daily basis was very good for him. "

"Our experience with Providence Care Center has been pretty positive, except for this last year. My mom has a private room, and it's OK. The staff is great. I haven't eaten their food yet so I can't say first hand, but my mom complains about it. The place is clean, and they don't have they a lot of turnover in help. It's expensive. The building itself is very nice. They can still improve on their outside courtyard upkeep. The value for money depends on the services that you require for your loved one."

"I had my great grandmother living at Windsor Lane for quite a few years and in that time, my family and I became quite familiar and comfortable with the staff and residents. My grandmother used to get a kick out of talking to the younger, bariatric residents, and they were just as sweet and respectful right back to her. I couldn't have asked for a better environment for my family to have used for her and if the situation, God forbid, ever comes about again, I would use Windsor Lane for my family again in an instant. "The staff is very friendly and the living spaces are kept clean and organized. My aunt is happy with the activities that are offered and assistants, and enjoys here own room with everything she could need. The residents are encouraged to mingle and join in many hosted events, and occasionally they offer tours to various locations. My aunt enjoys sitting by the large bird cage filled with colorful birds and watching them fly about. we looked into several places prior to this decision, and I think that this was the right decision to make. The cost is reasonable and I know she is happy spending her final years there. I would recommend to anyone dealing with this tough decision to look into Elmwood. Having to move a loved one to a nursing home is a big decision and everyone has different reasons for doing so, but you must always keep their best interest in mind when choosing a new home. "

"My husband is currently a patient at Elmwood West Campus. I wish we had time to research more places because they are not very attentive at all. If Im not there every day-he has to wait long periods of time for someone to answer when he asks for a nurse, and many times when someone finally does show-they say "Oh wait, I don't do that you need a nurse-let me try to find her" "

"Ohio Veterans Home Sandusky was a nice facility. It's a nice park-like area, and it's quite large. They're very personable, and they had all the facilities that one would find interesting or important. The residents seemed very social, there were some playing cards, there were some visiting, and there were some telling war stories. They were very talkative, and the residents wanted to say hello to the people who came through."

"My husband is in The Meadows at Osborn Park. My first impression when you go in there is that it's beautiful, it's warm, the people are so super nice. When you walk in there, you feel like this is a nice place in terms of the people, the facility, and the way it looked. My husband liked it a lot. They are such warm people. They're caring, they helped me out. I paid for a few extra days, which was very reasonable; so they just were overwhelmingly helpful. When I was on the phone with the husband, he laid the phone down and I could hear people around him helping him get up. He forgot to hang up so I was listening, and I could hear how caring they were. We've passed the dining room and it was beautiful, people were there enjoying their Thanksgiving dinner, which was great. They offered for me to eat there, although I couldn't, the food looked great. Everybody seemed happy. The facility was spectacular, I didn't see anything I would question. They have a calendar and they have daily things, like bingo and all kinds of games. I've seen them playing and they have a playroom, and a room where they can draw, they have a library, and they have a beauty salon. They have everything there. It's already the second time my husband's been there. I couldn't have found a better place."

"My father was in rehabilitation at The Gardens of St. Francis for three weeks. The staff was pretty good, but they messed up his medications regularly. The facility was lovely, but the rooms were cold. I didn't care for the rooms, but the gardens were beautiful. There's a big old chapel inside that was just stunning. He didn't use the dining room. The food was delivered to rehab, and he liked the food."
