Although my mother-in-law was not a fan about coming to an Assisted Living, possibly giving up her Independence...she today said, "now I know why you kids wanted me to come here." Her placement here, although temporary as it is, is offering her a safe alternative, a transitional stepping stone that is preparing her for success. Three meals a day, clean living environment, continued strengthening with therapy, staff that care. She is feeling supported in many ways and I'm thankful to the staff that have been making her feel special.

My father is in Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont. So far, it's been great. It was like night and day, moving him from what we had experienced at the other place. It's much better quality, much better care, cleanliness, just all around. We're happy that we moved him there. It's been a very positive experience. They're very professional. My dad likes the food a lot better. Yesterday, he went to a game and he enjoyed that. They have a lot of other activities as well.

Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont was a beautiful facility. Everything looked very nice and state of the art. I would have really liked for my dad to consider going there. The facility was great. It's very clean and very pretty. The woman who took me on the tour was so nice. She even offered to help if it didn't work out with us there, and she was willing to help above and beyond that. I really liked her. She was very informative and went into detail about how they have a chef in there, that the residents have a lot of input on the menu, and that they make really fancy dishes and stuff. They also have a bird aviary where the residents can sit and watch the birds. It's all enclosed in glass, and it's very nice. They go on trips. They do all the laundry. If the residents want to do their own laundry, they can. You can also put whatever you want in the room. It has a small refrigerator already, but you're welcome to bring a microwave, TV, and whatever you want. They have patio areas. Every so often there are benches where you can sit outside.
