"I went to Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community. The place was beautiful. I think anybody would be happy to be there. I just didn't like the long drive to get there. That was my only objection. As for the staff, whoever we passed in the hallway, everybody spoke. It was like a big family. You were not a stranger. Even before my tour guide introduced me, everybody was so friendly. I just couldn't get over that. They had a laundry room, exercise, places, little sitting rooms, and a big sitting room. I don't think you would get lonesome if you went there. If the road going there was a little shorter, I would go there in a minute. It's still on top of my list. It's fabulous."

"We went to Otterbein North Shore. They're very caring, and we've got several calls from them asking if we have located a place. One of my friends is in their bungalow and two are in the nursing facility. I've seen what they have to eat, and the food seems good. My friend's family is quite happy with the facility. I think it's one of the better ones in our area. They take people on trips, and they have games. They have a good relationship with the residents. Every week, the local newspaper features people who are staying there and comments from them. They have good public relations. It's a lovely facility. They have beautiful yards, and they have little shops. It's a good life experience for them."

"We toured Landings of Oregon two years ago. It was almost like your own home. The staffing was excellent. The food was very good. I know they've changed the decor since I was there last. At the time, it was very formal and very elegant, but they were changing it to be more country style because we are in a farm area. The staff was very friendly and very informative. I think she was the director and she had all the information that you needed to know. Everybody goes down to the dining room. They take your order and bring you what you want. I thought the choices were good, too. They have the front porch where they have a bunch of rocking chairs, and the people sit out there and it's nice out. Every time we were there, it was immaculate."

"My father is in Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont. So far, it's been great. It was like night and day, moving him from what we had experienced at the other place. It's much better quality, much better care, cleanliness, just all around. We're happy that we moved him there. It's been a very positive experience. They're very professional. My dad likes the food a lot better. Yesterday, he went to a game and he enjoyed that. They have a lot of other activities as well."

"So far our experience with Rutherford House is fine. Their staff is pleasant and capable, and the rooms are small. The layout of the place is nice, it's in the shape of a U so it's easily traversed. The food there is good and the dining room is laid out well. They have 2 meal options every day, and they also have things that are there all the time that you can choose from if you don't like what's served for the day. I have trusted them with my father and they took good care of him. They have lots of activities every day that he could attend. I would recommend this place highly to anyone who wants to go there."

"My husband and I lived at The Willows at Bellevue, and we chose it because we lived in this area. We also looked at other facilities, but this place gave us what we wanted for the price that we could afford. We were all acquianted with the other villas in the neighborhood. The villa was smaller than our previous place, but I was pleased, and our children also thought it was a good place. The rooms were very nice, although smaller than the house, but I accepted that fact. We had two full baths, and both were available for use with wheelchairs, since they were low enough. They cleaned the villa once a week. If anything went wrong, we called them, and it was up to them to fix it. They had a bell-call system: if you needed somebody, you just pushed the bell and they came right away. We had our breakfast at the lodge or the community room, and sometimes the food for breakfast was better than the others. It was the only meal we had there, and the other two meals, we did ourselves. They provided hot breakfast about twice a week. Other times, we had big bowls of fruits, rolls, juice, milk, cereals, toast, hot meals. Sometimes there was bacon and sausages. We had bingo, trips once a month, etc. We had had an exercise room connected to the clubhouse. It had exercise equipment and a couple of bathrooms. It was very easy to get into. Our television, phone, and computer were provided by a company. We paid the bills ourselves; this was the only bill we paid except for the monthly rent. Everything was provided for us here; we didn't have to do anything outside at all. I would definitely recommend this facility. "

"There's nothing that I don't like about Orchard Grove. It's a good assisted living place. My sister is happy there. They are very attentive to their residents, and the care is just amazing. Her apartment is very nice. She's got enough room. It's all on one floor/one plan. It's very nice and very comfortable. She really likes it there. She says the food is home cooked every day. They play bingo and they have craft activities. They had a Memorial Day picnic for everybody, and the residents that could walk outside and the ones in wheelchairs, they took them outside. It's very nice. They do a lot."

"Randall Residence of Tiffin is amazing. It has been wonderful. They have accommodated all my mom's needs. My mom has a hard time chewing because she lost weight and her dentures aren't fitting. They are making her food special. They let her cat come. They are amazing. It's clean, nice, well-staffed, and up-to-date. I went to several different places and my mom wouldn't even look at them. It's all one level, has a beautiful courtyard and wonderful administrative people and staff. She has a small studio. She wanted originally a larger studio, but my mom has COPD and she doesn't sleep in the bed. She sleeps in a reclining lift chair. COPD patients cannot sleep lying down, so she sleeps on a recliner. She doesn't need a bed in her studio and by the time we got her moved in, she has two good-sized chairs with ottomans. She has her lift chair, a large credenza with drawers, and a TV cabinet. They're even putting her TV on the wall for her and there is still a lot of room in this little studio. The showers are one level with the floor, so there's no lip to step over. They let you do whatever you want to the room within a reason, of course, but it is like her own home. Even all the staff refer to the room as her studio or her apartment. They paint ladies' nails on Mondays, they have bingo night on Tuesdays, they have a regular nail/hair salon there and they can do nails and manicures and pedicures, which my mom loves. They have a puzzle night. They have a beautiful courtyard that is getting worked on for the spring, and they have ice cream night on Mondays outside in the courtyard. They have raised garden beds for the folks that live in the community, so they can work in the bed as they like, and they can grow some of their own food and it's fresh and a lot of the people there seemed to like gardening, so that's been a big asset. They have reading groups, Bible study, and church. It is family-oriented beyond what I could have imagined 24/7. It's a lovely place. My mom would've never left her home. It would be like tearing her out of her house and she loves the Randall Residence. They can take cats. I don't know about any dog. Somebody has a bird, but I know they can take a cat."

"My parents are in now Genoa Retirement Village. I'm very happy with it. The food is very good, like home cooked meals. The staff is very attentive. The place is the cleanest that I've ever been into. If the carpet is getting a little bit worn, they change the carpeting. They're always up-to-date on repairs and cleaning and painting. They never let anything get old-looking. "

"The Commons of Providence has proved to be a great assisted living from my experience when my Grandma lived there. The rooms were great sized for an individual resident. The dining hall was large and easily accommodated everyone. There is even a big lake out back for residents to enjoy. The Commons held their own church services each week for the residents. The staff at the Commons was kind to the residents and helped them whenever they needed it. The facility also made the place look really nice during the holidays. Also, activities were available for the residents to partake in. The facility was pricey for some people, but if finances aren't a problem, I highly recommend the Commons of Providence. "

"My grandfather is at The Cascades at Good Shepherd Home, and it's great. He has Alzheimer's, so he's in the Alzheimer's unit. I'm quite pleased with the unit itself in general. Their food wasn't bad, it was tolerable, and he seems to like it. Prior to Covid, we were very pleased with everything, then Covid happened and everybody's just trying to do the best that they can. There's been a huge outbreak at Good Shepherd with Covid-19 amongst residents and staff, and it was kinda why Good Shepherd was not an option to put my grandmother at because I do not want to chance her catching it. The facility is very nice. They have a church there for residents to attend. Their activities team is very much involved and their staff is very much hands on. I can't really say anything bad, they've taken great care of my grandfather. The only thing that I noticed was they tend to mix a lot of their residents' clothing. The residents share socks and stuff like that, and it gets mixed around. Other than that, I've been really pleased with Good Shepherd. As far as my grandmother, the only reason why we didn't go there is obviously the Covid outbreak there, and she's not quite at the level of care that I feel Good Shepherd Home is. My grandmother works better in assisted living community versus an actual nursing home setting. They had activities. I don't know about now, but every time we would go there to visit my grandpa, they were playing bingo and they were doing arts and crafts. Their activities team is really hands on and very active. They have their residents do a lot of things as best they can. There were nights where they would have musicians come in and sing and residents would come out and sit with them and sing too, and we would go up there and hang out with my grandpa. They were really good prior to Covid. Covid has really changed everything."

"My father was in rehabilitation at The Gardens of St. Francis for three weeks. The staff was pretty good, but they messed up his medications regularly. The facility was lovely, but the rooms were cold. I didn't care for the rooms, but the gardens were beautiful. There's a big old chapel inside that was just stunning. He didn't use the dining room. The food was delivered to rehab, and he liked the food."

"My mother stayed here for a few months following a hospital stay for her COPD. It is located right off of state route 2 in Oregon, OH. The grounds are well maintained, and the interior is always kept spotlessly clean. There is a central dining hall that all the residents must eat at. They do not allow residents to eat meals in their rooms, which I feel is a good thing, as it gets them to all socialize. The staff there were always pleasant and helpful, and only needed to be asked once if anything was needed. Out of the multiple places my mother has been in, this is definitely the best. They always took great care of my mother. "

"My grandmother was a resident at Heritage in 2008. She had been in 3, or 4 other homes before she arrived here. This was, by far, the best facility she was in. The staff was always friendly, the doctor's cared, the food was good, etc. My grandmother had dementia and often forgot the nurses. They were always patient and respective. She had her own room, which was extremely roomy (under the circumstances) and clean. She was a resident when she passed away and did an excellent job of showing sympathy and respect. I would highly recommend Heritage. "
