I went and toured Landings of Oregon. Everybody was so friendly. They seemed to be on top of everything. Everything was nice and clean, and I was impressed with them. I didn't check the food, but everything smelled really good. The rooms and the common areas were very clean.

Landings of Oregon is a beautiful assisted living community in Oregon, Lucas County, Ohio. We believe here that most seniors are not in need of nursing homes but that they just need a little assistance. Landings of Oregon offers this assistance. This campus was designed to meet a variety of senior needs. This place is an assisted living community that provides memory care for seniors who suffer from Alzheimer's or dementia. The site has fabulous landscaping and our residents enjoy being able to spend time outside with nature.
The staff knows that this community is the home of the residents. They feel as if they are here as a result of an invitation to nurture, serve, care and protect. The staff encourages the residents to participate in life and to be self-sufficient and independent for as long as possible. They provide the care, opportunities and care that they would wish for their own family members.

One thing about Landings of Oregon is the apartments were separated from the activities and the dining room and that type of thing. At my age I wouldn't be particularly interested in having to travel from my apartment to another building for dining and the activities. Otherwise, I thought the facilities were excellent, and the people that I spoke to were very, very friendly and very welcoming. But that was one thing that I was dissatisfied with. However, the upkeep and the staff were excellent.

I placed a deposit on Landings of Oregon, and I'm packing to move there. I like all the amenities that they have. Even though it's independent living, they have a nurse that calls you and checks on you every day. If you're not feeling well, she'll come over and take your vitals. If you don't feel good and you don't feel like you can get out, they'll bring you some soup. You pay your rent and you pay nothing else. Everything's included. Cable, wi-fi, all your utilities, everything is included in the price. You don't have to pay any other bills. I have a one bedroom because that's all I need. It has a very nice size bedroom, bathroom, and it has good storage. It's nice for one person. I haven't lived there yet, but it looks very well-kept. The grounds are very well-kept. The lady I've dealt with so far has been super nice. And they introduced me to some of the people that lived there and stuff. I liked it. That's why I chose it. The dining area is very nice looking, very clean. They offer you 30 meals a month included in your rent, so you can pick what and when you want to eat. They have a menu they put out a month, and you can choose what you want to eat that month.

My father has moved into Landings of Oregon. The staff is very kind and helpful. His room is cozy and friendly. It's a large studio. They have a dining room, and they get to order off a menu and it's fabulous. They have a daily special. The food is pretty good. The grounds are limited. It's winter, so I don't know. All I see is the parking lot at the front door. They have movie nights and different activities. They have shuttles to appointments and they also have an activity shuttle. Once a week, they can go shopping or out to dinner and different things like that. Value for money is excellent.

We toured Landings of Oregon two years ago. It was almost like your own home. The staffing was excellent. The food was very good. I know they've changed the decor since I was there last. At the time, it was very formal and very elegant, but they were changing it to be more country style because we are in a farm area. The staff was very friendly and very informative. I think she was the director and she had all the information that you needed to know. Everybody goes down to the dining room. They take your order and bring you what you want. I thought the choices were good, too. They have the front porch where they have a bunch of rocking chairs, and the people sit out there and it's nice out. Every time we were there, it was immaculate.

I met with Diana, the sales representative of Landings of Oregon, and she was very knowledgeable about the place and the benefits. She seemed to know all the staff and the residents' first names. So, it wasn't all about the money. When you walk in, it has a very nice entryway. Everything was computerized and COVID protocols were being followed. No one can just walk in and out without registering or being noticed by a member of the staff. The facility was very clean and there were sitting areas that made it feel more like home.

We chose Landings of Oregon for my mom because it's clean, the amenities that they offered, and the price. Her room is clean, no stains on the carpet and no smells. The staff was polite and professional. It seemed everybody was enjoying themselves, and all the patients seem to be well cared for. It didn't smell. They have a menu for their diet. They also have a list of their curriculum that they're doing (like movie nights). The dining area was clean.

My father-in-law is at the Landings of Oregon in Ohio. We chose it because his family lives in that end of town. He says the food is wonderful. They've been very good. They just have no help. They have one RN staffing the entire three-unit assisted living area. They need help. There are very little staff, but the staff they do have are all very nice. They are greatly understaffed. The room is beautiful, very clean, and very nice. They have very good food. It has a very nice setting. He's not had a chance to participate in the activities because he had to quarantine when he went there, but they have activities there. The staff themselves are very good, but they need more of them. They're expensive. The staff who are there work very hard.

Landings of Oregon is a very nice facility. They have a dining room that my father goes to, a barber shop or hair salon, and he has cable and a walk-in shower. They have a little community area with a little library and a courtyard. He said the food is very good. I've spoken and seen the property manager and a couple of the nurses and they all seem very nice and competent, but they need more staff, like cleaning people. It's a fairly new facility. They have bingo and card games, but they haven't been doing a whole lot due to COVID.

We placed my in-laws at first in the Memory Care Unit, then there were able to move into the regular Assisted Living facility. As with all senior care facilities, there simply is not enough staff. In spite of that, many of the aides and nurses are caring, professional and do the absolute best they can to take care of their residents. The facility has been purchased by the Meridian Group, whose representatives held a meet and greet and promised to address all the issues that were raised. One issue that exists is the fact there isn't an automatic door at the entrance of the main Assisted Living building, and we were all told that would be changed. It is very difficult to get in and out of the building for anyone using a walker or in a wheelchair, which covers the majority of residents. It has been several months, and that issue STILL has not been addressed, in spite of the fact the representative from Meridian said it would be, soon. Truth is, it is a very nice facility, comfortable, clean and the staff really does provide the best care they can. My in-laws like it there, and that is the most important factor in all of this. Granted, they are lucky because they have the financial resources to afford to live there. We are thankful they are able to afford it as well.
