"I placed a deposit on Landings of Oregon, and I'm packing to move there. I like all the amenities that they have. Even though it's independent living, they have a nurse that calls you and checks on you every day. If you're not feeling well, she'll come over and take your vitals. If you don't feel good and you don't feel like you can get out, they'll bring you some soup. You pay your rent and you pay nothing else. Everything's included. Cable, wi-fi, all your utilities, everything is included in the price. You don't have to pay any other bills. I have a one bedroom because that's all I need. It has a very nice size bedroom, bathroom, and it has good storage. It's nice for one person. I haven't lived there yet, but it looks very well-kept. The grounds are very well-kept. The lady I've dealt with so far has been super nice. And they introduced me to some of the people that lived there and stuff. I liked it. That's why I chose it. The dining area is very nice looking, very clean. They offer you 30 meals a month included in your rent, so you can pick what and when you want to eat. They have a menu they put out a month, and you can choose what you want to eat that month."

"I met with a wonderful lady at The Waterford at Levis Commons named Lexi and our tour was very pleasurable. Everything was exceptional. They have different events for the residents. They have a restaurant-style eating facility instead of a cafeteria. They have a workout room, a therapy room, and a beauty salon where they offer full services. My mother would love to get her hands and feet done. When I looked at the rooms, they were very well laid out to the point where I didn't feel that she would be cramped in any kind of situation. Also, they just recently changed their format where if she's going to go in for independent living and in the event that she needs assisted living, she doesn't have to leave her apartment. They now have converted that program to the people that are independent. They could offer the services right there in her apartment. I thought that was exceptional. The staff was very accommodating and everybody seemed to be courteous to each other. They knew each other. Every time there was somebody we met, Lexi knew their first names. So, that was very heartwarming for me. They gave us a complimentary lunch ticket not just for me and my mom, but for as many people as we wanted to, and they would make reservations for us in the pub. Their pub is fantastic, too! They have a wine tasting there, they do karaoke, and they do so much for them to keep them feeling great about themselves. I just toured it yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to eat the food, but we are going to do that. They have elevators to get you to different levels. They just remodeled the restaurant. They're getting new flooring in the common areas as well as the areas that lead to their room. They're putting down white paneling floors. It's going to be gorgeous. So, they are keeping stuff updated."

"StoryPoint Waterville had nice rooms. The hallways were well-lit and wide. All the apartments had handrails for showers. The facility was very clean. It's fairly new, and it was nice. It was light, bright, and airy."

"I went to Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community. The place was beautiful. I think anybody would be happy to be there. I just didn't like the long drive to get there. That was my only objection. As for the staff, whoever we passed in the hallway, everybody spoke. It was like a big family. You were not a stranger. Even before my tour guide introduced me, everybody was so friendly. I just couldn't get over that. They had a laundry room, exercise, places, little sitting rooms, and a big sitting room. I don't think you would get lonesome if you went there. If the road going there was a little shorter, I would go there in a minute. It's still on top of my list. It's fabulous."

"My friend is a resident of Brookdale Bowling Green. I think they've been fantastic. They took her at a moment's notice when she was getting out of the hospital, and I have not had one complaint since I've had her there in the last two years. They have them baking, and playing games and they celebrate their birthdays with all kinds of goodies. The staff has been in, even through the pandemic times. They kept all their patients and followed the rules; my friend never got anything, and the doctor and staff did a great job. She's been well cared for, and she doesn't have any complaints. They're always friendly. One of the things that I like about them is their security system, because I had her at another place when she was still pretty well, and she kept getting out of that place. Here, only the staff has the codes and they let you in and out, so that's a nice extra thing as well. I've never had any food, but they seem to have good meals."

"I was very impressed with Brookdale Monroe. It was very nice. The people were very nice. I liked that it didn't have too many residents. I like the fact that you had your own bathroom. The dining area was very nice. I also like the fact that the Alzheimer's and memory units are separate. There are a lot of girls that work there, and they are very nice ladies. But unfortunately, they had a bad habit of speaking their foreign language in front of the residents. My mom, like a lot of other people there, could not hear well at all. She couldn't understand why she didn't understand a single word these people were saying. I told them that I thought that if they wanted to speak among themselves in their language, they needed to go to their break room or outside because it was not fair to the residents. It's very upsetting that they don't understand what's going on around them. They said that some people have a coffeemaker, so I'm assuming you just bring your own appliances. But you could always go to the kitchen and use the microwave. They have a very nice area outside to sit, which I like. There were a couple of different porch areas with nice tables and chairs underneath the tree. The staff was very personable, knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to share whatever you asked. The lady who was in charge of the food came out, greeted us, and gave us copies of their menu. It looks quite substantial."

"A&R Premiere Care just had new add-ons to their facilities. What I liked the most about it was the lady that runs it is a nurse and then her husband is also a healthcare person. I think he's a physical therapist or something. They were both very nice and very helpful."

I originally chose this community because they offer 24 hour nursing and I found the atmosphere to be homey. The staff and residents are friendly and engaging, and the staff have gone above and beyond to assist my father. Despite my father’s physical and cognitive challenges, the staff have been caring and innovative in resolving these things and meeting his needs. My father, who had been totally resistant to moving from his home, admits that while he would rather be at home, he doesn’t know another place he could receive the same care. "My mom just moved in the assisted living. I cannot say enough about the staff here. Being a nurse myself, I’m pretty particular. I have loved the way they treat patients like family. I observe how they treated not only my mom but other residents. I’m so impressed with everyone we have encountered and Molly G was a HUGE help & blessing to our family! We all appreciate all the love, care & respect you are giving! I know your job isn’t easy, God bless you all for making a difference every day to all of the residents & their families! Amazing!
