"We toured Landings of Oregon two years ago. It was almost like your own home. The staffing was excellent. The food was very good. I know they've changed the decor since I was there last. At the time, it was very formal and very elegant, but they were changing it to be more country style because we are in a farm area. The staff was very friendly and very informative. I think she was the director and she had all the information that you needed to know. Everybody goes down to the dining room. They take your order and bring you what you want. I thought the choices were good, too. They have the front porch where they have a bunch of rocking chairs, and the people sit out there and it's nice out. Every time we were there, it was immaculate."

"Mom moved up from Florida after having some major health issues over the past two years. She has been living at StoryPoint for a year and I believe her quality of life has improved. A selling point was she could have her two dogs with her! Plus the staff is outstanding! It's hard to get a hold of her sometimes because she is always doing something. A resident can be as active as they want to be but they can't be a wall flower and hide. Mom enjoys her new friends. Having her closer in proximity gives me peace of mind."

"I went to Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community. The place was beautiful. I think anybody would be happy to be there. I just didn't like the long drive to get there. That was my only objection. As for the staff, whoever we passed in the hallway, everybody spoke. It was like a big family. You were not a stranger. Even before my tour guide introduced me, everybody was so friendly. I just couldn't get over that. They had a laundry room, exercise, places, little sitting rooms, and a big sitting room. I don't think you would get lonesome if you went there. If the road going there was a little shorter, I would go there in a minute. It's still on top of my list. It's fabulous."

"My mother is in Charlotte Stephenson. It is a very attractive building and has very warm feeling. The attendants are pleasant and caring. The rooms are clean. My mother is moving to a larger room next week. The bathroom is immaculate, spacious, and very safe. They empty the waste basket in the room every day. We are very pleased with the care. They offer activities every day, and everything seems to be fine. They accommodate Father for a modest fee. He has dinner with Mother every night at a special table set aside so the two of them may eat together. We are very happy with it."

"A&R Premiere Care just had new add-ons to their facilities. What I liked the most about it was the lady that runs it is a nurse and then her husband is also a healthcare person. I think he's a physical therapist or something. They were both very nice and very helpful."

"We toured Alice Lorraine Care Center. It was super clean. They're very nice and very helpful people to work with. As far as decoration is concerned, it was very nice, and the grounds were beautiful. Even though we weren't there when the flowers were blooming, you could just see that they had a nice garden area. They have a gazebo. Every room has one or at least two windows, so you could see out onto the grounds. There is a nice big window that looks out on a wall and the wall has statues and things to make it look pretty. Out of all the places that I have looked, Alice Lorraine Care Center felt warm, cozy, and friendly. And the people that were living there were smiling and were involved with each other, playing games and playing cards in one area. Some were just watching television, but you could tell that they were very involved in that home and the residents there. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. She showed us the kitchen area and the snacks available. Anytime somebody wants a snack, they could have somebody get it for them or they could get it themselves. The cook that was there was starting to make lunch, and it smelled good."

"ProMedica Goerlich Center was very nice, but I didn't like it as well as the other place. The staff was very nice. The apartments were pretty nice. Maintenance and upkeep were pretty good. It needed painting and stuff, but that's all. They were very clean and very organized. The dining area wasn't as nice as some that I've seen, but it was OK. They have a beauty shop and someone that does their nails and hair. They showed us where the residents take a bath."

"We liked Kingston Residence of Sylvania. It was very good. They had a lot of activities that fit into the five components daily, they had a bird aviary, and the assisted living dining room that had just been renovated was beautiful. It looked like a nice restaurant with fancy tablecloths and nice upholstery chairs. The memory dining area looked a little informal, but it was nice too. It was slightly more expensive, and did not accept Medicaid."

"My parents moved into Sunset Village seven months ago. Everything is going really well, and they're very happy. The staff is good, right there when my parents need help. The food is very good. They have housekeeping come in once a week to clean the room. It's a nice size, and when you walk in there's a nice living room, a kitchenette, a little refrigerator, and a microwave, but no stove. They have one bedroom, a bathroom, and it's big enough for the two of them. They have different sizes of rooms there. They're in assisted living, but my dad needs a lot of help. They have bingo, music groups come in, they take trips out to stores, they go to a restaurant once a month, they went to a casino this month, and this summer they will have outdoor concerts come to the facility. They have lots of activities if the individuals want to take advantage of it."

"I am a daughter of one of the residents here. They have only been there for five days at this time. Despite fears that they would become withdrawn or physically abusive - none of this has occurred - they are calm and can easily be redirected when their behavior becomes a bit agitated or they are exit seeking. The staff are wonderful with patient calm demeanors, and are very "tuned into their residents. The resident's rooms are very roomy, with good space for the bed and other personal furniture. I have provided care for dementia patients in the past and I am quite impressed and reassured by my experience with Parkcliffe. "

They took the time to not only get to know my Aunt, who has since passed, but also took time to get to know her family. They took the anxiety out of a very difficult situation and turned it into something positive. My Aunt enjoyed all the activities offered on a daily basis, and made several friends during her stay there."
