"I toured Vibrant Life Temperance. It was clean and organized, giving off a warm feeling. It's a little like a dormer. They have a bed, a closet, a TV, and a chair, just like a hotel room. I've been working with Nick, and he was good. They can go outside on the deck, and there's a lot for them to do besides sitting in the building. The facility has a little pond with seating and chairs, making it really nice, and they're served three meals a day."

"Landings of Oregon was my second choice. It was very good. The one staff member I talked to was very friendly and open."

"My friend is a resident of Brookdale Bowling Green. I think they've been fantastic. They took her at a moment's notice when she was getting out of the hospital, and I have not had one complaint since I've had her there in the last two years. They have them baking, and playing games and they celebrate their birthdays with all kinds of goodies. The staff has been in, even through the pandemic times. They kept all their patients and followed the rules; my friend never got anything, and the doctor and staff did a great job. She's been well cared for, and she doesn't have any complaints. They're always friendly. One of the things that I like about them is their security system, because I had her at another place when she was still pretty well, and she kept getting out of that place. Here, only the staff has the codes and they let you in and out, so that's a nice extra thing as well. I've never had any food, but they seem to have good meals."

"Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community had nice social areas for the people to go to. Everything was set up very well. It was very welcoming. The one lady that I had interactions with was very nice. The facility was very nice, clean, and updated. The layout was nice."

"My mother is in Charlotte Stephenson. It is a very attractive building and has very warm feeling. The attendants are pleasant and caring. The rooms are clean. My mother is moving to a larger room next week. The bathroom is immaculate, spacious, and very safe. They empty the waste basket in the room every day. We are very pleased with the care. They offer activities every day, and everything seems to be fine. They accommodate Father for a modest fee. He has dinner with Mother every night at a special table set aside so the two of them may eat together. We are very happy with it."

"We toured Alice Lorraine Care Center. It was super clean. They're very nice and very helpful people to work with. As far as decoration is concerned, it was very nice, and the grounds were beautiful. Even though we weren't there when the flowers were blooming, you could just see that they had a nice garden area. They have a gazebo. Every room has one or at least two windows, so you could see out onto the grounds. There is a nice big window that looks out on a wall and the wall has statues and things to make it look pretty. Out of all the places that I have looked, Alice Lorraine Care Center felt warm, cozy, and friendly. And the people that were living there were smiling and were involved with each other, playing games and playing cards in one area. Some were just watching television, but you could tell that they were very involved in that home and the residents there. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. She showed us the kitchen area and the snacks available. Anytime somebody wants a snack, they could have somebody get it for them or they could get it themselves. The cook that was there was starting to make lunch, and it smelled good."

"My visit with Spring Meadows was very good. I loved it there. It had all kinds of stuff and was not a giant place, which I liked. It had a homey feel and was very friendly. There were lots of people doing different things, and you could tell that there were activities going on. They served three meals a day. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. I did not have an appointment, but they were so nice. "

"I volunteered in a variety of areas in this nursing home which also incorporates an assisted living community. While my great-grandfather was alive I wish that this home had been available to him. Not only does it offer a variety of places which make it more of a community than a home, such as a gift shop and a bauuty salon, but the many people who run these locations enjoy their work, and I heard from more than one employee the reason they work at Wolf Creek is because of what they saw at other places when their parents were moved to a home. Many open spaces in the design of the building encourage mingling of patients and visitors and family was always welcomed into activities which often included bingo and card games. The staff also seemed to go the extra effort to make the family feel welcome with a smile or talking about how their loved one missed them. I think its important with a nursing home to make the experience not only pleasant for the elderly, but for their family, because it can be hard seeing a loved one incapable of caring for themself and any extra unpleasantness seems only one more reason to skip the occasional visit. "

"Sunshine Children's home offers adult day services and respite care for individuals with developmental disabilities. The property has a number of facilities for these individuals to use from computer labs to gardening areas. The employees were very friendly. They answered my questions with enthusiasm and communicated with the residents just like the would communicated with anyone else. They did not treat them any differently because of their disabilities. The majority of the people who work there have been there for five years plus. The area on which the facility is located is very spacious, I believe it is about 25 acres. There is a main building and then cottages spread out. Many therapeutic activities are available such as horseback riding, animal activities, swimming and arts and crafts. There is a special building for overnight respite care which can be from one night to two weeks so caregivers can get a break. The only negative to this building is that it only contains eight beds so respite care waiting lists are very long. "

"Everything was very nice at Henderson House. The dining area is very clean and very spacious with good meals. Most of the residents eat together three times a day, so it’s very nice. They have a lot of structured activities, and a couple of entertainment options. The staff was wonderful. "
