"My husband is currently a patient at Elmwood West Campus. I wish we had time to research more places because they are not very attentive at all. If Im not there every day-he has to wait long periods of time for someone to answer when he asks for a nurse, and many times when someone finally does show-they say "Oh wait, I don't do that you need a nurse-let me try to find her" "

"The staff is very friendly and the living spaces are kept clean and organized. My aunt is happy with the activities that are offered and assistants, and enjoys here own room with everything she could need. The residents are encouraged to mingle and join in many hosted events, and occasionally they offer tours to various locations. My aunt enjoys sitting by the large bird cage filled with colorful birds and watching them fly about. we looked into several places prior to this decision, and I think that this was the right decision to make. The cost is reasonable and I know she is happy spending her final years there. I would recommend to anyone dealing with this tough decision to look into Elmwood. Having to move a loved one to a nursing home is a big decision and everyone has different reasons for doing so, but you must always keep their best interest in mind when choosing a new home. "

"He was well taken care of by the associates there. He was a very independent person and had spent most of his life dealing with alcholism so being able to have people around him helped him a lot! My mother had worked at Bethesda care center for a couple of years and knew that it was a good place that would provide the care that he needed in his final days. He never ever acted as though he disliked being there and always had positive things to say about his nurses and his room mate. They had a community lunch room. On many occasions we would go and eat dinner with him. He was able to have many of his things in his room such as his recliner that he loved to sit in. He also had his tv and personal pictures up which was a comfort to him and us. My grandfather was a very lonely person through out the years. He had lost my grandmother when she was only 25 to tuberculosis and never remarried. So to get some interaction with other people on a daily basis was very good for him. "

"My brother once stayed at Parkview Care Center. I know that he said they were all very nice. Of course, he did not like being there because he can't have visitors. But other than that, if it was not for the isolation, I think he would have been happier. But that is beyond anybody's control at this point. They were very kind and attentive. I guess he ate only because he had to eat. Some things were probably better than others, no matter where you go, even if it is a restaurant, it will have that issue. I would imagine it was not as good as home-cooked meals. I was not able to visit it him and I was not able to talk to him that much because his phone did not work. It is in a convenient location. I could tell they put on a new roof, so they are improving the building itself. He was not able to do anything. He was not very mobile, and he ended up with Covid, so there was nothing for him to do, he could not leave the room. I don't think anybody could leave the room because of Covid. The staff was excellent, from what I understand. They were always very, very nice to me."

"Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont was a beautiful facility. Everything looked very nice and state of the art. I would have really liked for my dad to consider going there. The facility was great. It's very clean and very pretty. The woman who took me on the tour was so nice. She even offered to help if it didn't work out with us there, and she was willing to help above and beyond that. I really liked her. She was very informative and went into detail about how they have a chef in there, that the residents have a lot of input on the menu, and that they make really fancy dishes and stuff. They also have a bird aviary where the residents can sit and watch the birds. It's all enclosed in glass, and it's very nice. They go on trips. They do all the laundry. If the residents want to do their own laundry, they can. You can also put whatever you want in the room. It has a small refrigerator already, but you're welcome to bring a microwave, TV, and whatever you want. They have patio areas. Every so often there are benches where you can sit outside."

"I had my great grandmother living at Windsor Lane for quite a few years and in that time, my family and I became quite familiar and comfortable with the staff and residents. My grandmother used to get a kick out of talking to the younger, bariatric residents, and they were just as sweet and respectful right back to her. I couldn't have asked for a better environment for my family to have used for her and if the situation, God forbid, ever comes about again, I would use Windsor Lane for my family again in an instant. "The facility is beautiful, I will give them that. However, it was overall an awful experience. From the admission to when my dad left. We were not given very much information, processes on how things worked. Nanci the administrator was great. Most everyone else, we either felt like we were bothering them or they just didn't interact with us. When we tried calling in to check on our dad, most times it took up to an hour or more before we could make contact with someone. And a lot of times were told someone would call back, and they didn't. Professionalism is lacking terribly, from the DON, the social worker, the majority of nurses. I got a copy of the notes from the time my dad was there, and the nursing notes were very one sided. My dad was on hospice. The last straw was when his Fentanyl patch came up missing (several days after the fact, after I asked for the status of that, was told it was found in the trash can, and I am sorry, not really buying that). While we didn't want to move dad again, felt it was in his best interest to move him to where he would get the care and attention he needed and deserved. My dad was not a priority for them. I hate that I put my dad there, but it really the best option, sadly. Nurses would avoid us. Didn't want to deal with us. Maybe for short term rehab this would be ok. If your loved one isn't cognitively alert or medically fragile, you have to stay on top of everything and advocate strongly for them. "

"Previous comments made were before the new administrator came. The new administrator has over 20 years of Nursing Home Care, and he is making incredible changes. The activity calendar is full of more events, outings, and games to keep all the residents busy and engaged. New positions have been created to help the workload among employees and to increase productivity and results. The food served is hot and fresh. I barely eat cooked carrots, but their's are delicious! The nurses genuinely care for the residents and their interests. They get to know them and understand their likes, dislikes, families, and who they are. Whenever I come in to see mom, there is always laughter carrying through the halls. Over the last year, many amazing changes have developed. I would suggest anyone to send their mom or dad here. Not to mention, it is one of the more affordable homes. And for your information, the home is a not for profit and receives no county monies. They are of only thirty three county homes left in the state of Ohio. I am extremely impressed with the changes in care for aging adults."

"I had a great experience with facility. The care given was just exceptional. The nurses and aides therapists were all very friendly and professional. The staff was very personable and became very close to my relatives that resided there. "

"Birchaven Village was absolutely spectacular and would have been the choice that we'd have made. The apartments were a beautiful size, we liked the layout of the entire place, the amenities, and the activities that they offer. From the atmosphere, to the decor, and the location, everything was perfect. We looked at a two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. They supply the resident with a medical alert, and the rooms have very large living rooms with either balconies or walk-out patios. They have two-bedrooms with huge closet space. Each one comes with a washer and dryer, handicapped-accessible showers, and both bedrooms are beautiful. It's a three story residence with a full dining room downstairs, a fireplace, and a walk-out patio. The chef prepares and chooses the menus, and they have beautiful amenities in the dining room. It looks more like you're going to a fine restaurant every night rather than just an ordinary dining room. Groups come in to entertain the residents like high school groups, they have game nights, and movie nights. The place even comes with it's own "main street" that has a bank, library, a church, and a small gift shop. It's set up like you're walking dowtown someplace. It was just an absolutely beautiful community. The food was absolutely top-notch and beautiful. We had lunch there and the food was fresh, appetizing, not bland by any means, and was just very good. The chef obviously knows what he's doing."

"My mother has been in St Catherine's Manor of Findlay since July. It's clean, and the rooms are spacious. One thing I don't like is the fact that they're very short staffed, and my mom has fallen three times since she's been in there. I'm just not happy with the care that she's getting there. The food seems to be alright."

"I had a good stay at Bellevue Care Center. The caregivers were attentive. The physical and occupational therapy were every day. The people were very good, very nice and had good humor but took their work seriously. I had a single bed, and the room was nice. They came and cleaned every day and even got me an air mattress for my bed."
