"I was very much impressed with American House Farmington Hills. It was very clean, the staff was very nice. The food smelled very good, and the rooms were very, very clean. I was very impressed by the rooms. The residents seemed to be very, very pleasant and in a really good mood. They were eating. I wouldn't mind sitting down and having a meal, but everybody seemed to be very pleasant."

"I visited Plymouth Independence Village, which was very nice. I like the homey feeling of the place and how they try to make the residents feel like they are in their own homes. They have lots of areas where you can relax. They have a gorgeous landscape, as well. The only reason why I didn’t end up having them go there was because the facility has a separate care company that you have to go through. "

"My mom moved to Golden Grace by Majestic Residences. They've been very caring. They're also very good at helping with the transition because we just moved there. The food was very good. There was no smell. Everything was clean and dusted. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. It's not a large facility, but for a group home, it's laid our very well."

"My mother is here. It seems like a nice place. The tenants seem very friendly and welcomed her in, and they have doctors who come in every week. Her apartment is beautiful, large, and has all the accommodations that you want, like beautiful cabinets, plenty of closets, a balcony, and a little courtyard in front of her apartment since she's on the ground floor. It's very nice and immaculate, and looked like nobody had been in there when we walked in. She likes their happy hour, where they have wine and snacks. Once or twice a week, they have people come in for entertainment, and she takes the buses to the various stores around. They come in every morning and make her bed. My mother is very happy, so I feel like it's a very safe place."

"I visited and I saw that the place was nice. The people were also very nice. They were able to show me the activities that they have. "

"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"While there was a period of adjustment for my mom, life is so much better for her now. When she moved in, she was able to decorate as she wished. They have encouraged her to return to previous hobbies & activities. Art supplies are always available. She has made friends & enjoys relaxing after dinner chatting with the ladies at her table. Over the past couple of weeks she has enjoyed a boat ride at Kensington Park, going to a movie at the theater, a picnic & planned entertainment tailored to her age group at IV. Her apartment is cleaned every other week by young people who are extremely kind & friendly even to her cat. The staff is great about communicating with family both by news letters & personal calls. We added a service to avoid mix ups with medications. A staff member comes twice a day to hand out her pills. Moving to Independence Village has improved life for both my mom & her family. The people there are kind, caring, friendly & fun. Their enthusiasm & patience make it a great place to live. "

"I kind of liked American House Westland Joy Senior Living. The rooms were nice and clean. The whole place was very nice. They had an exercise room and activities like shopping, outings, and church. I saw a one-bedroom unit that was clean, spacious, nice, and well kept. "

"Our tour was wonderful. The place was beautiful and clean. It was easy to access from the parking lot. Mom doesn't like high rises, so it was nice that it was only three stories. The staff member who assisted us was a lovely gentleman. He was very patient, polite, knowledgeable, and he answered all of our questions."

"American House Livonia was very clean and very nice. The people were very helpful and gave us all the information that we asked for. They were very knowledgeable and they helped us out a lot. They took us around on a tour to see a few apartments that were set up, so we could see the setup of them. Everybody there was very nice and very polite. They also offer a lot of amenities. They have studios and one and two-bedroom apartments. They have a full meal service (three meals a day) and all kinds of activities. They have bingo, movie nights, and buses that will take people if they want to go out for the day."

"I visited Ashford Court for my wife. I liked the spaciousness and the cleanliness of the place, and the personnel. The rooms were large. They had their own individual restrooms. Although it was not furnished, they did provide a refrigerator."
