"Grand Living At Tamaya was extremely nice. The only thing I didn't like about it is that prices were beyond my range. The room has a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, the whole nine yards, plus the washer and dryer. I did a house tour of the place. Everything was fine. It's a good-looking facility. It's relatively new. The people that I met and contacted are all very nice. They are a little bit pricier than the other places I looked at, but they offered a lot more. The person who toured me was excellent. They have several restaurants there."

"I had lunch at Brookdale Southside, and it was very nice. They have a physical therapist on staff, and we had a nice conversation about getting strength back in my legs, so that was a positive. We went to an outside area, and there were travertine tiles, maybe 18 inches by 18, and some of them were broken and kind of like just hanging there loose. I thought, for the money you're getting, this thing should be fixed up. I went to mass, and they had a priest come in from the local Catholic parish, Holy Family. I met a couple of people that I knew from past places that I've been, who are living there now. The staff member who assisted me with the tour, Victoria, was very kind and very attractive. She's got to be a plus when you're trying to get people to live there. It's very clean. They have a ground staff that was going around on tractor-mowers, cutting the grass, and that's a nice sign. I didn't see anybody in the swimming pool, which surprised me."

"It was lovely. I think the people that work there were very kind, very caring, and very hospitable. It was a very nice place, but my father is not ready. I just have all positive things to say about them. They're very kind and caring. Even the people that I met on the weekend went out of their way to help me. They spent a lot of time explaining things to me and showing me things, and I really appreciated it. I have no complaints at all. My father had trouble walking and they even were going to be able to make accommodations for him to be close to where the dining room is, so I really appreciated that. They had a calendar with things every day. I was worried if he was there, he might just stay in his room, and the staff said they always go and check on their residents and try to get them involved in things, so they don't just leave them there. This would have been the one that I would've chosen because it was so close to my home and because I really just like it."

"It was good, but I just don't know if my mom wants to go that far out because she lives in the city. The rooms were big enough. You have a full-sized bed, a little sofa, a dresser, and a bathroom. It's just enough room for what she may need. They were an outstanding staff. By the time I went there, there wasn't anybody there except one girl, but she showed me what she could. There are a few restaurants around. The hospital looked close, and doctors' offices are around there. "

"I like being here at Brookdale Mandarin. Everybody is very friendly and open. We have little group meetings where we get together and talk about anything and everything. Management is very good. Everybody's very supportive and loving. I got good friends here and I love it. We also have a pool, we do crafts, happy hours, a group that sings to us, and all kinds of stuff we can do. It's a nice place."

"Anthem Lakes is very nice and very clean. The staff is so nice. They make me feel really comfortable being able to take my mother-in-law there. They have single rooms, double rooms, and efficiency apartments with a stove and stuff like that in it. She is in a double room. In the double rooms, you have a room with one person there, then you have another room with a second person, and then you have a common area for both of them to go and sit if they want to watch TV, talk, play cards, or anything, and then they have a bathroom that they share. Twice a week, they have a social get-together where they all go down into a dining/bar area and sit, talk, play, or anything like that. Once COVID is under control, they will be having outings once a week. They also have a classroom where they can do crafts and puzzles, they have a library, and they have bingo. The staff is very knowledgeable. They're not too slow to call me, and they ask what my opinion would be. Everybody I have talked to there is very knowledgeable about everything that is going on there. I could no longer take care of my mother-in-law, so when we took her in there, it was something that had to be done, and they were very helpful about getting everything taken care of for her and getting her in there in a timely manner. My mother-in-law also said that everything that she had eaten so far has been very good. She has not had a problem, had to send anything back, or tell them that she did not care for anything, and the meals that come to them are nice-sized meals. The place is also very reasonably priced."

"I liked everything about Wyndham Lakes. It's an older place and I liked that the walkways in the hallways were not really brightly lit, but my partner didn't care for it. It had a wonderful entrance. The rooms were almost ideal for us. You have a screened-in porch and the whole area in front of that where you can go out and put in flowers or whatever you like. They allow pets. It's high on our list, but my partner was not overly enthused by the darkness of it. The residents were very happy. The staff member who showed us around was very professional, very helpful, and a good salesperson."

"The staff has been absolutely wonderful to work with. They seemed to take time to get to know the patients well. The place is very clean and neat. The ward we put him in is locked, and that is important to us. We have no concerns at all. Everything we came across is very good. Their food appears to be good. My stepfather said he is fed well. We saw a calendar of activities, and they take them out to dinner, and they were doing some mind stimulation there, and we were very pleased with that. "

"I've moved into Palagio Senior Living. One of the big advantages I saw is, if I get to the point where I need assisted living, I don't have to change apartments. The place is only about two years old, it's very well kept, and they have very nice people. The staff is excellent. Food is edible. Every month they publish a monthly calendar listing all the events and various activities. They handed it out to all the residents as well as posted on the walls. They have a full refrigerator and a microwave in the room. They have a very nice area to walk the dogs, and there are sitting areas. There are a couple of gazebos out there. The grounds are very nice and very well kept."

"We went to Seagrass Village of Fleming Island because I knew someone who did respite care there. It's a city by itself, we're going to do respite care with my husband soon, and his room is lovely. It's a two-bedroom with a refrigerator and everything. We ate a meal there, it was nice, the staff was very attentive, and seemed to know everybody quite well. My husband was very impressed. He talked to a gentleman who stayed there before, and he was very positive about it. Everybody was really nice, you could order off a menu, and everybody seemed to be very happy with it. They had a full list of activities, plus transportation to shopping places, and things to do. They are willing to do respite care for less than a week, it's a newer facility, like a year old, and they are trying really hard to get their full residency. The building was brand new, very clean, very spacious inside, and it's just really nice."

"Brookdale Avondale was very, very clean. When I walked in, I didn't smell anything. The staff showed us the entire place, and it was very nice. I love the way it was set up because it felt like an apartment setting as opposed to a nursing home. All the doors were closed. They had addresses or names or some type of identity on every door. And I was just impressed. It was sparkling. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful. She was so patient and so caring. She was great. The dining room was clean. They had a library. Everything was clean, nice, and comfortable looking."
