"It has a wonderful atmosphere, a lot of activities, very caring staff, and my mom got excellent care there. She was there on respite care in their assisted living for about 45 days. The facility is beautiful and in a convenient location. The staff was excellent, everybody's very helpful, and we had no problems with them. The food was also good. They had music every week and they had a lot of games that they played. My mom didn't participate, but they had them available."

"We found Brookdale Southpoint. They seem very nice, very welcoming, and the apartment of my brother is very well organized. It is very clean, was just painted, and the staff is very efficient. They have a courtyard, craft room, and a little library. He's moving there soon. The facility is very clean, sparkling clean. I would recommend it."

"I liked that Carriage Club of Jacksonville provided independent, and then later on assisted living, and the activities that they have scheduled. My mother is in a two-bedroom apartment that is equipped with a full kitchen; it has a living room and a small dining area just off of the living room, an eating counter, and she also has a glass porch. The dining area is a full dining room; they offer lunch and dinner, but no breakfast. The facility is well-maintained. She gets a cleaning service once a week. The area itself has a full staff, and one director just for maintenance, so it is well-kept. They have a full-time nurse; she has made herself available to us in a matter of minutes when we call. The front desk is cordial; the management staff that we've been dealing with had been very, very helpful; and the general staff that is around, they make sure that they say hello to everybody. She would have picked another facility, but the key thing that drove her to pick this one was the full kitchen. You get thirty tickets a month for the meals and that is a negative. So, if you would eat lunch and dinner there, you would exhaust your tickets before the end of the month and then you would have to buy additional tickets, so it is unexpected expenditure for the residents. "

"Coastal Senior Living was good and was in the process of changing directors when we went up there. The staff was fine. There were not many amenities, and it's rather small, but friendly. They had private rooms with shared baths, and private rooms with a bath. My mother thought everybody was nice and fine."

"The tour we had at The Lakeside at Amelia Island was really nice. It was new, well decorated, and looked like a hotel. The facilities were very good, and the grounds were well kept. We went to their cottages, and they were very nice and very big. They had walk-in closets. Their price was very good. They could provide you with the meals or you could cook on your own. We did not see any activity going on, but we saw two men in the swimming pool. We did not see anyone in the library. There was no one in the exercise room. There was no one in the theater. We did not see anybody doing any of these activities. Jennifer was the one who assisted us with the tour, and she was a very nice girl. We liked the location because there was no traffic."

Everything was really good; it's an excellent facility. They just renovated, they have really good services, and they have a high staff-to-patient ratio."

"The Canopy at Duval Station was very nice and very clean. It was brand new and they had single rooms. They had a la carte items that you could get done, like if you needed help with a shower, if you needed help with a bath, if you wanted to go to the salon, all of those things you had to pay extra for. The food was good and the facility was nice. The lady that took care of us during our tour was awesome. They had doctors' facilities and a pharmacy on site. They had a rec room, a weight room, and an outside patio area. They would bring in entertainment. They actually had field trips they could sign up for."

"I have visited this facility many times unannounced and found the residents to be clean and cared for. The food was so amazingly good that even I was willing to eat it. They offered us lunch and the staff were so friendly and inviting. I walked into them singing or doing current events. Very peaceful place!!! "

"I visited a friend who lived in the Life Care Center of Hilliard recently. If I had to be in a nursing home, I would want to be there, because of the way the caregivers interacted with the residents. They'll do anything for them. It's beautifully decorated and in a nice area of town. Everything is local. They take the residents out on walks about three to four blocks daily. It was really nice because I know nobody wants to stay in a nursing home every day, all day, so they usually make sure that you go out. They even go on field trips too. Their rooms were very huge and they also had two beds, a big bath, and it was very nicely decorated. Each resident had their own closet space. Their food was also delicious. It tasted more like a catered meal, but it was actually prepared on site. They played bingo, kickball, musical cues, badminton chairs, pass the ball, and even exercised with them."

"I've been here at A1 Care Systems for almost two years now. They are the only one that would take me. It's been really good so far. They let me do almost anything I want to. I took coupons from the VA for the veterans overseas. I got a computer to play with. I go out and do a little walking to the store. I think it is nice, and it is just like a home. This is a small facility, and they are nice people. I never bothered to visit any other facility. I'm happy, and I'm staying here. "
