"We went to Lakeside at Amelia Island. We liked it for the low entrance fee. It's very new and modern, with nice-sized apartments, and the location is near where my son lives. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have an active program. They have a library, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, and walking trails. It's near the beach. We had dinner there. It was good, they have nice choices."

"Osprey Village was lovely. For one thing, the entry to the common area in the building had vaulted ceilings, it was clean, and someone had thoughtfully decorated it. It had lovely area rugs and big flower arrangements. It had pictures on the wall that had been chosen carefully. It was just a lovely place. I went there to see a young man play a piano; it was a piano concert, and the community was invited. I saw their dining facility because it was off of the common area -- which was actually huge -- and it was formal. It had nice tablecloths and nice chairs; it really was like a fine restaurant. "

"The Canopy at Duval Station was very nice and very clean. It was brand new and they had single rooms. They had a la carte items that you could get done, like if you needed help with a shower, if you needed help with a bath, if you wanted to go to the salon, all of those things you had to pay extra for. The food was good and the facility was nice. The lady that took care of us during our tour was awesome. They had doctors' facilities and a pharmacy on site. They had a rec room, a weight room, and an outside patio area. They would bring in entertainment. They actually had field trips they could sign up for."

"I visited a friend who lived in the Life Care Center of Hilliard recently. If I had to be in a nursing home, I would want to be there, because of the way the caregivers interacted with the residents. They'll do anything for them. It's beautifully decorated and in a nice area of town. Everything is local. They take the residents out on walks about three to four blocks daily. It was really nice because I know nobody wants to stay in a nursing home every day, all day, so they usually make sure that you go out. They even go on field trips too. Their rooms were very huge and they also had two beds, a big bath, and it was very nicely decorated. Each resident had their own closet space. Their food was also delicious. It tasted more like a catered meal, but it was actually prepared on site. They played bingo, kickball, musical cues, badminton chairs, pass the ball, and even exercised with them."

"The cost was too high at Dayspring Senior Living. The manager and the person who handles the billing were knowledgeable and nice. It's a sad atmosphere. There were a lot of people in the lobby and sitting out front. They're generations ahead of me, and I'm only 67. The people there looked like they were in their 80s. The atmosphere was very slow moving and not positive."

"Fort Caroline Gardens was very nice. We didn’t like the existing part, but they're building another section. They did had about three private rooms available with Jack-and-Jill bathrooms, but the rest of the rooms had to share the same bathroom and shower. The rooms were clean. It’s very nice, but we couldn’t afford it. The staff was very nice and very good. The amenities seemed reasonable. "

"I've been here at A1 Care Systems for almost two years now. They are the only one that would take me. It's been really good so far. They let me do almost anything I want to. I took coupons from the VA for the veterans overseas. I got a computer to play with. I go out and do a little walking to the store. I think it is nice, and it is just like a home. This is a small facility, and they are nice people. I never bothered to visit any other facility. I'm happy, and I'm staying here. "

"Magnolia Manor of St Simons' apartments had a lot of square footage, which I liked. It was an older place. They had a dining facility and you're only required to take one meal there. Any other meal you eat, you pay for. I liked the price, and they had pretty grounds. The person I met there was very nice."

"Kevin of Magnolia Manor of St. Simons was extremely good. He went out of his way, and I would rate him a 10. They would provide 1 meal a day, and you could purchase additional meals if you want. It was a really pleasant visit. We saw some of the residents, and they seemed to be very happy there. "

"Circle of Hope is a very nice facility. I stayed just a few blocks from this location while I was in Jacksonville last summer. They had a very nice team of staff members, that were more than willing to do anything to help my client out whenever she needed anything. The only thing that wasn't so good about the facility was the area that it was located in. Although it was convenient and outside of downtown Jacksonville, the elderly had to be accompanied outside because it isn't in the best of neighborhoods. Otherwise, the facility was well-taken care of and looked very clean on the inside. My client had no complaints whatsoever, which is the important part. "
